When Jeff Hardy Became Willow

The Willow idea came to my mind after considering doing Broken Matt Hardy. Now that we did it, It leaves the possibility of that video. With that said, Hardy poured his heart into this character, it was very different and fresh compared to what he was doing previously. What did you think of Willow?

This was such an interesting time for Jeff. Although I didn’t see this character’s story live when it happened, from what I’ve seen and heard, it was such a unique and interesting character that came when Jeff needed something new, and it delivered. If Jeff ever comes back to wrestling, I hope he gets one last run with Willow, but if he doesn’t, it’s ok.👍

Maybe in hindsight, but I remember pretty much everyone hating it at the time. But one thing that definitely should've stuck from that time was him changing up his ring style to be safer

Facts. By far his best gimmick and the closest he had ever gotten to reaching his full potential. Him becoming heel brought out the best in him and also Raven took him under his wing and taught him the “heel ways” and it SHOWED

@@Sam_Pillayif they hated it then he did his job. U aren’t supposed to love a heel turn. It’s not like he had “go away” heat. He switched his style to a slower more methodical pace . JR even said that if the Hardy’s had a flaw it was that they worked too fast of a pace and it was hard to take in. I don’t think it was about safety. The risk taking was what everyone loves about Jeff, so he knew he had to take that away from them. Jeff had consulted with Raven, who truly taught Jeff to fully embrace and embody being heel . I genuinely think that was the closest Jeff ever got to reaching his full potential. Of course ppl hated it. It was Jeff’s first full blown heel turn in his career (he was only a heel in WWE for a VERY brief few weeks), and he was aligning himself with the most hated faction in TNA. But it was by far Jeff’s best run in TNA in my opinion (I’d say best in his career but his run after returning to WWE where he won the WWE title and Heavyweight title twice surpasses it) . Seeing the likes of Hogan and Flair treating Jeff like he was the boss was surreal too.

This Willow character IMO was one of the most unique acts in TNA in 2014. But he just seemed "there". He wasn't really involved in any major storylines going on at that time. At times, it feels like the Willow character just came, feuded with some guys for a bit, and disappeared almost as quickly as it was introduced.

I adore the Willow character, If it was with a bigger company and more direction. Willow could legit be Jeff's alter ego. I love Willows mannerisms and tone of voice. Jeff truly went all out with it and it rubbed off on me. Willow is one of my favorite what ifs in wrestling.

Yooo you should do a retrospective on the first Monday night raw of the “New Era” on 7/25/16. It was the week after the draft and Finn Balor made his raw debut and beat Rusev, Cesaro, Kevin Owens and Roman reigns to earn the right to face Seth Rollins at summerslam to see who would be the first universal champion. Also had Corey graves raw commentary debut, nia Jax debut against BRITT BAKER (made her bleed), New Day celebrating their record breaking tag title reign which is pretty topical at the moment, good r-truth/goldust/bob backlund segments, and a good womens championship match between Sasha and charlotte. Possibly the best raw of the “New Era” and I just remember being so optimistic around this time

I hope Jeff gets help first before returning to wrestling but when he does I would like him to bring back the antichrist gimmick. Imo that was his best gimmick. I think he should bring it back for many reasons and here's one. 1. The dare devil gimmick is killing him. He's obviously a lot slower in the ring and if us hardy fans want to see him wrestle for a couple more years he needs to change his wrestling style and the antichrist can let him do that. He can stop doing crazy stunts because as the antichrist he chooses not to do it because he knows that's what the fans want, he can tease the swaton and tease risky moves etc. But overall I think it was just such a cool character from the look, theme song, the belt, his promos was definitely a lot better.
