I have to say: what a kind man you are. As I watched you work on her feet I realized what a wonderful profession podiatry is. Not only are you a healer...you get to do the same as Christ did for His disciples...he washed their feet in order to show us how to humble ourselves to serve others and thereby show love. Dr. Jefferson, you are the best DPM I've ever seen. I watch eight or ten on YT, and I have seen 3 in person. None of them could hold a candle to you. Usually all you see done is the nails clipped and maybe a callous or bunion shaved, and the Dremmel tool to file down the nails. I've never seen anyone else use a curette under and around the nail and between the toes. I've never seen anyone else use the tiny grinder with the water spray. I've never seen anyone really clean between the toes like you do. I've never seen anyone else apply shea butter and powder. You are the most thorough of any Doctor I've seen. And, while you are doing all of this, you are gentle, kind, compassionate, reassuring and respectful to the patient. Thank you for all that you do; you are truly a blessing.

I am a disabled RN. I spent my career working in nursing homes. I loved working with/for my geriatric patients. I was lucky to find my niche... and I can see that you have found yours too! Dr J I love that you inspect between the toes and treat the area as necessary. The most I have seen other foot doctors do is take a piece of gauze and pull it through between the toes, using the same piece of gauze for all the toes. I enjoyed seeing you scrape down the sides of the nails. I think you are using a different curette too, maybe a smaller one? What was the powder you applied at the end? Was it just talc? Or an anti fungal powder?

I've learned that when u get out of the shower or bath, take a towel & do a rough dry on ur feet getting between ur toes. U will see the dead skin shed off. U have to dry them with a lil force (almost like ur washing them with a washcloth) but not too rough. For anyone that can't reach their feet u can do this by holding onto something & covering 1 foot with a towel & rubbing/drying it with the other. Make sure u hold onto something tho for balance. I was surprised at how much skin actually came off of my feet bc I use a pumice stone regularly on them but what did come off was on the top of my feet. Ppl seem to forget abt that part, me included!

I take my wash cloth with soap and clean between my toes and I have a stone that I do my heel then when I get out I dry my feet and between my toes. Very important.

Take a Salix cloth into the shower and scrub your feet and in between your toes.
