I've coached T&F for the last 46 years working with beginners to Olympic and Paralympic champions. You've made great points. I've found that when you overload an athlete with too many technical elements they get to the point where they can no longer see the forest through the trees. Same applied to cues. I have them apply simple cues during the build up(six weeks or less) then implement the most effective cue according to what distance and tactics are needed. For 100 meter sprinters the best course of action is to keep it simple. Two cues or less has been what I've found works the best. Some can handle more but the 100 meters is over so fast it's best to keep it to a minimum.
