They should have done some sort of deferred adjudication where the kid completes some probation and a life skills program and if and only if he complies with all that is required then the charges are dropped. No need to ruin a young person's from the get-go. Having worked with some offenders in the past, I can say some are truly remorseful.
@noahscan
@noahscan Жыл бұрын
@@luisdelossantos5338 He’s 19 years old, I’d hardly call him a “kid”. I must’ve missed the part where he took responsibility or even showed an ounce of remorse to deserve any less of a punishment than what an “adult” would get. The notion that we as a society should be lenient based on age is the reason this “KID” thought he could throw a beer at a cop while he was sitting in his car. Seems like you might fall into that accountability category I had mentioned before…
@luisdelossantos5338
@luisdelossantos5338 Жыл бұрын
The kid is probably a first-time adult offender so he was let loose. I didn't say he shouldn't be treated as an adult and yes he acted criminally. I also didn't say that I liked that the charges were dropped; on the contrary I mentioned a way that he could have been held accountable without ruining his life. Don't get me wrong, I am pro-police all the way. Ultimately the Lord in Heaven decides what happens to each one of us so He decided to show grace and mercy on this family. I'm a Christian first and Republican second. @@noahscan

We don't know for sure but I suspect the charges were dismissed because the cop didn't want to pursue it (his testimony would be required to go to trial.) No clear picture of him throwing the beer, the officer only witness him running, while everyone with a brain knows he did it its a technicality. The DA most likely gave him a plea deal for being his first offense and not being a clear cut case. he probably did some stupid program that was paid tax payers dollars. The system is definitely broken our only hope here is he learned from this, but odds are this had an opposite effect and this the start of a career criminal.

@@marioga90 That's what I was thinking too. That's not a technically though, it is quite reasonable that someone else actually threw it. By the way even if he admitted to doing it during the interview, unless he was mirandized that is all inadmissable in court. Did they check the beer bottle for fingerprints? If only his were on it that would be pretty damaging.

Young men have been acting like this since the beginning of time. The rush of testosterone and lack of life experience causes young men to take dangerous risks and be aggressive, particularly if they've not been taught self control and how to manage anger. It's the reason young men pay higher auto insurance rates than women the same age. That risk taking propensity and aggression was favored in human history as it made for brave hunters and then later in history, strong armies. Unfortunately, it doesn't bode well in modern society.

A place where us, the people, gather. It's our place, understand? And when Trump ordered cops, and other groups, to attack innocent people. And move innocent people with pellets from guns to the eye, Expandable Steel Batons, they moved these innocent people from special land with mace and bombs that shake the core of people. They moved innocent people with violence so that Trump could take a picture in front of a church, without even going in, where that churches spiritual leader didn't want him there. Blood, pain. It's all for nothing because it's a vicious loop that we tell our cops to be a part of. We allow our society to be sick, we don't give them the proper means to be clean off of drugs. 85 percent of the prison system is made up of non violent drug crimes. That's why we have so many cops, because cops are the ones that fill the prisons that make the few rich. Prisons make horrible rehabs. Prisons make good training if you want to train your cops to be at war with their citizens. We tell these cops to risk their life so that we can lock up people with drug problems, so that our society can punish and hurt them as if they aren't already feeling pain. We don't heal people, we shake them up with torment, then we put them back with all of us? Then they go use again and then angry cops who think they are at war with this sick American, come and blam, pain and suffering. American blood however you cut it. Human blood. For what? Did you see how other nations use their police not to beat but to try and aid people with respect people with drug issues, issues period. We should take note.
