Ryan's attention to detail is unreal. This takes place 500 years in the future and if we presume an average age of around thirty for having kids that would be about 16 generations or so. So him saying "great" 15 times is actually really accurate.
@okaydetar8212 жыл бұрын
I would argue that by at most 200 years in the future we will have cured aging, or at least slowed it enough, that a generation will be much much longer than it is now, but I am glad someone counted how many times he said great cause I was curious, but couldn't be bothered counting.

This is the most Ryanverse lore we've gotten in a while, so let's unpack: Plastic objects have their own sentience as well as their own culture. From what we've been able to tell, they resemble humans in their mannerisms and traditions, such as funerals and eulogies. They have extremely long lifespans, as 200 years is considered very short. They form deep bonds with humans they interact with and are generally friendly. Lastly, they do not like recycling at all. If I've missed anything, be sure to correct me and perhaps point out the significance of this new lore in the Ryanverse.

Friendly reminder that the “reduce” part of “reduce, reuse, recycle” is probably the most important one. Recycling water bottles is better than throwing them away, but they still have negative environmental effects associated with them. Best thing you can do is not buy plastic containers in the first place so we produce fewer of them (assuming you have alternatives, obviously not everyone has access to clean drinking water from taps and stuff, but if you can reduce consumption of them rather than still using them and recycling that’s way more environmentally friendly).

In a lot of places to get people to recycle in the first place the narrative is pushed that recycling basically makes you super environmentally conscious, when in reality recycling plastic specifically (things like aluminum cans are actually crazy efficient to recycle) does only a bit less harm than throwing it away
@WindsorMason2 жыл бұрын

"I just got owned by a trash bag" 🤣 one of my favorite lines from Ryan now. This video made me laugh out loud, I love it when Ryans videos make me laugh out loud. "Frank was feeling pretty empty" lol where does he come up with this stuff?

I'm watching this immediately after listening to the new SYSK podcast episode on plastic water bottles. Very good timing everyone 👏👏👏 PS Those plastics don't actually decompose in hundreds of years. That's just the point at which they become microplastics that will cause even more problems down the line 😬

@@JayTohab I mean “literally”. Sure, there’s mounds of trash that’s really big, but I’m actually thinking of a trash mound the size of a continent.

There are people working on this problem - on cleaning up what's already there, and on making things more biodegradable at the source. I think we're going to be much better off than a patch the size of Australia.

I really want there to be a Prequel to this where Frank is in a dark time in his life after the loss of the two guy's Great Great Great Great Great Great Grandfather and the bottle is just resting on tree in the background of the funeral with the narration: "I still remember when you chose me in that checkout lane, Jimmy. I'll make you proud."

Recycling plastic instead of throwing it in the ocean is Super Easy, Barely An Inconvenience… or as I like to say: SEBAI!
@MAGAMAN2 жыл бұрын
Most plastic can't be recycled and the stuff that is recycled still leaves a lot of waste. Why not just go back to making thing s out of metal and glass, so they last forever.

Agreed, recycling cuts the lifespan of a plastic item down by hundreds of years! How can people who recycle live with themselves, knowing that a plastic bottle they recycle won't live to grow old or get to go on a cruise around the world's oceans
