Charlotte Warfield the window in the room was open afterwards but the back sliding door was left open by the McCanns. Say what you want about this case, but the McCanns should have been looked into for child neglect for just leaving them alone. Even if they came out afterwards and said it was a mistake I think people would be more inclined to empathise with them, but Gerry clearly thinks they DIDN’T make a mistake and that’s why everyone is so upset about it. Tinkerbombshell that’s exactly what I was thinking. There were 7 parents. Put all the kids in one room and have an adult change every 30 minutes. That’s one time a person for every 3.5 hours. Not that big of a deal when you think about it. Or they could have just gotten a babysitter. (Which I wouldn’t have done bc I wouldn’t know them) I would have rotated parents. My child comes first. Although I don’t even think I would have done that. I want to be there if my child wakes up. And he usually does wake up when we are in strange places and he is 4. The thought of leaving my child unsupervised let’s alone the door unlocked makes me sick to my stomach. But I am a helicopter parent...

That's exactly what they did do. 1 person from the party of 8 adults was missing from the tapas restaurant every night until the night she was "abducted" They want people to believe that they were neglectful because if they really charged with neglect they can't then again be charged with murder. I know what sentence I'd rather have.
@tjm81286 жыл бұрын
That's what I have always thought. Why couldn't they each take turns and have one parent look after all the kids in one apartment on one night and another the next and so on. Or even if they were that afraid of missing out on the fun, had each parent stay for an hour each then swap. I know, I know hindsight and all but come on. You would think that at least ONE of these educated adults would not feel right about leaving their YOUNG children, babies even, in that dangerous situation
@genevievealdi23186 жыл бұрын

Or, depending on how good the technology in 2007 was, use a baby monitor so they could at least listen! I personally don't believe they had anything to do with her disappearance but it's so strange that they would just leave her and her twin siblings alone in a strange place. I wasn't allowed to stay home by myself until I was like 10 or 11 and I don't remember a time on vacation where I was ever allowed to be alone without my parents or older sister there to look after me.

Piers Morgan is right in the interview: eating dinner in your own back garden with the kids asleep upstairs would not be the same as eating a meal in a restaurant 50 yards away from an unlocked apartment with your kids in. The comparison is invalid and Mr McCann is surely intelligent enough to recognise this, so his statement that the two things are similar puzzles me.

As a British person, I’ve followed the McCann case for years, ever since Madeleine first went missing. More than ten years later, considering all the evidence I’ve heard and seen over the years, my conclusion is that Madeleine died in her family’s holiday apartment and then her body was hidden by her parents.
@marasantos67206 жыл бұрын
Rachel Busby they probably gave her too many sleeping pills and overdosed, also they had the key to a church here in Portugal and no one can mess with the church's lands, so the theory is they used the key to go inside and buried the body where not even the police could go and look for it
@rachelbusby6706 жыл бұрын
M a r a S a n t o s Yes, I heard a theory that they buried her body in the car park outside of a church because they knew the car park was getting built over or covered up or something, I can’t quite remember all the details. I think the reason it started was because one of the McCann’s friends said that they saw a man carrying a sleeping child down to the beach, but there were already lots of people on the beach by this time looking for Madeleine, and none of them saw a man with a sleeping child come onto the beach, and the church was located between the apartment and the beach.

As the mother of a 3 year old I can attest to it being possible for that little girl to open the door herself. My son is constantly on a mission to figure out new things. My theory after years of interest in the case is that Madeleine was crying the night before as she said and couldn't get out but tried to figure it out herself. Then the next night when she knew her parents wouldn't come for her if she cried, she finally managed to open the door or window. The ocean was fairly close to their apartment, close enough that a toddler who had probably been there or near there earlier in the day would want to go back to have fun. Tides at night are stronger than a 3 year old unfortunately. I only lean toward this theory due to the lack of evidence any other theory has. But it is completely possible that much like a lot of toddlers, she escaped the apartment at the wrong place and time. So many toddlers get hurt or pass away due to this all over the world sadly.

Typically when parents lose a child, they often either blame each other or blame themselves or just blame someone in general and it would lead to hate and anger. Typically when parents lose a child, they split. They keep distance. When parents lose a child and have more children they stay with each other for the kids sake but they don't seem like a couple. The parents of this child stay in each other's arms, stay loving and just act like a normal couple. It's fishy.
@rachellyn67728 жыл бұрын
Ikr. Like, maybe their way of grieving is locking up and not showing emotion, some people do that and it's normal. But they seem a little odd. Like, they would do the little things after saying something like in the how to see a lie segment, and the entire group was eerily calm about losing a kid. Seemed off that the person who saw the guy carrying kid just blew it off and didn't report it. The theory of her being abducted and sold is very plausible though, and is terribly sad for me to even think of a three year old being sold into that. Or maybe someone killed her, was carrying her and the part where the two people exchanged the girl wrapped in blankets (either they were hiding a mortal wound or keeping a child warm) were part of the abduction, or were selling her body for money..black market stuff. Either way, I feel terrible about this little girl's fate. Any of the theories are awful enough, being dead or being sold like some object into a horrible industry.

Every Brit, i'd say 90%, knows that these two killed Maddy. There is a video of Gerry full on laughing around a week after her disappearance. They have NEVER cried on camera. Kate washed her teddy a day after her disappearance, The smell of death and blood in their rental car they bought 28 days after her disappearance and behind the sofa, Gerry being friends with and himself a convicted pedophile (allegedly), not searching for her the night of her disappearance, but instead going to sleep until the morning, Kate refusing to answer any questions the night of her disappearance.... the list goes on. They were acquaintances with the PM for god sake. I'm the last person to believe in conspiracies, but anyone who has looked into the case ( This is a good start but she's condensed it and left TONS out) knows that these two are guilty. If anything the other 2 children should've been taken away for child neglect. These two we're protected by people higher up. The parents were so irresponsible. The dad tries to justify it by saying "oh, if you were at home and your kids were in bed and you were downstairs it's no different" that's bullshit. If something is happening, your kid can come downstairs, instead of having to try to come across a courtyard, and you're obviously going to keep more watch on your house than a resort where people are walking about. She was three. You don't leave a three-year-old alone in an unlocked room with the windows open, in a foreign country. Even if you are checking on them every thirty minutes. Like you said, one of them could have choked or something and by the time the parents got there in 30 minutes, their kid would be dead. I agree, they need to be like 9 or 10 before you can leave them alone, and even then, being in a foreign country, that's still stupid. I have a gut feeling that one of the friends are involved and they know more then they're saying. I feel like this could have been prevented had the parents been more diligent. That sketch that looks like the Pedestas (sp), is that a sketch from two different eye witnesses? Or is it one witness and two different sketch artists? Because if it's from two different eye witnesses, it could very well be two people and the police just think it's one. I hope Madeline is okay and will be found soon. I don't have the feeling in my heart that she's dead.

I remember when madilyn went missing while she was on holiday. I'm from the uk and I think it's disgusting her parents never got sued for neglect via their professional jobs. Also, like you said Kendall, the night before she went missing, Maddie was reported saying to her parents why weren't they there when she cried. Her parents knowing this, still left her with her twin siblings. And the next night she went missing. I don't know wherever they killed her as they had ivf for maddie, which shows they clearly cared, but the fact they take no responsibility for their actions for the involvement of her disappearance is awful

Regarding behavior after child loss i just want to say, without insinuating the parents guilt or innocence, I gave birth to a full term stillborn little girl a few years back. I stayed in hospital for a few days afterward. My hubby and I were of course utterly devastated and cried nearly nonstop. One night, to cheer me up he got permission to take me outside in a wheelchair to see the falling snow, it was the first time I smiled. Third shift had just come on duty and as we were coming back in, he wheeled me playfully down the hall past the nurses station as I chuckled. I remember the anger I felt as the nurses all glared at me judging, puzzled and angry. I knew they were thinking I was coldhearted and acting inappropriately. They didn't see us hysterical for every other minute of every other day . I always think of that when I hear things like this.

After spending countless hours through days, weeks and months researching all the independent analysis, evidence and facts about this case, I'm almost certain (about 98% sure) that her parents were involved in her disappearance. She most likely died several days before she was reported missing, probably died accidentally, and was a major cover up by both her parents and the mainstream media.
@hauntboy8 жыл бұрын
98%? I am 100% sure. Absolutely everything points to her having died on the Sunday, I'm even 100% certain of that. I agree it was probably an accident, but there has to be something very sinister involved to explain why it's being covered up.

The man carrying the child that Jane saw was proven to be a man carrying his own daughter home from daycare, not related to the case at all. Also Jane changed her story soooo much, and she suddenly remembered more details fitting their story which is not how memory works. Also the cadaver dog also smelled death in their rental car, Kate's clothes and on Madeline's toy that she slept with, and the blood dog found blood behind the couch and the cadaver dog also reacted to that area.

@molliestuart28447 жыл бұрын
This is so huge over here in the uk and nearly every person believes her parents over dosed her by accident in order to help her sleep so they could leave BUT didn’t want to lose their medical license(as they were both doctors) so they simply got rid of her body, hence why the dogs could smell the scent of a dead body. I think they deeply regret it but also they’ve made millions off their daughter when everyone knows what happened. There’s millions of missing children and they don’t get nearly the amount of media coverage and money spent on their case, it’s sad what happened but people need to just admit what happened and put it to rest.
