@@Mad_Tongues Well, he did already fight off Valten (who was running around with Ghal Maraz) and Luthor Huss, took several wounds while doing so, Dorghar was killed by Valten and Grimgor flat out ambushed him right after beating Huss so it's not like the two had some honorable duel or even a remotely fair fight.

I just finished realm slayer. Spoilers sort of. This whole time I was mislead by people bitching and moaning as they usually do but AoS ain't half bad. It's an interesting setting sort of like viewing the world in a stage before everything becomes mundane. I thought gotrax story would suck without Felix as so many people implied but it's surprisingly good. People are like he gave up looking for Felix, not really. He found him and decided not to drag him into the new world although I have a theory that gotrax actions may have unintentionally dragged Felix in. At the end of slayer, Felix is basically trapped in a pocket of air buried underground and decides to write in his journal to conclude gotrax epic. He mentions hearing voices and what sounds like digging. Near the end of realmslayer gotrax finds the portal that could take him back to the old world right after he left but decides to destroy it which kinda symbolically represents him letting go of the past but what if him knocking over the portal was the sound Felix heard? And because the portal was knocked over it fell over Felix and sucked him into AoS. Either that or Felix is now a god like how all those other characters became gods. Think I would hate that outcome though. Probably going to be a few years until the decided to reintroduce Felix cause it seems likely. Otherwise, I like AoS more than the End times. End time's was great don't get me wrong. Good concept, poorly executed. Should have been stretched out like maybe ten or so years. Warhammer is at its best when it draws things out to its conclusions

@@newnamesameperson397 In fact, the author already answered in one interview: "Gotrek will never find Felix again, but will always be close and always far". This search is his “eternal quest”. Meanwhile, Gotrek, as a real Hero, will help ordinary people in the Mortal Realms to be independent and not rely only on the gods.

Really happy to see you starting to cover AoS. I started 40K when a friend introduced me to it and I got really invested and I'm pretty heavily bought in and I enjoy it but I always loved fantasy as a genre more than science fiction but I didn't know there was another thing besides 40K that warhammer did for a long while and when I found Fantasy I thought it was neat but I didn't really care because it just seemed boringly obsessed with being miserable and bad in my opinion and I didn't enjoy how low fantasy it forced itself to be when it had such promise of being a more bombastic and energetic high fantasy so finding out AoS existed a few weeks after learning about fantasy was a dream come true and while I still don't have more than my first unit of models its easily far and away my favorite GW setting and is one of my favorite settings there is. I know lots of people don't jive with AoS but I'm glad you're willing to experiment and put out this kind of content to appeal to the minority like me who do really love it so thank you

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Whenever I want to introduce someone to AoS lore, I'm going to send them this video. It's not too long, and it covers all the key points. I'm LOVING the AoS content and would love to see more! I know you'll probably do a video on Stormcast next. I'm a Hallowed Knights Stan so I won't mind if you make them the first faction you give a dedicated video to. However, I would like to see you do a video on the Lumineth Realm-Lords sometime soon. They legit have some of my *favorite* lore in the setting. I have gone on for literal hours about how interesting I find them and their lore. If you want to do some literary research into the Lumineth, I recommend you read "The End of Enlightenment" and "Godsbane". Preferably in that order, but it's not required. Both are great reads that do an excellent job of showing both their history and introspective philosophy, contrasting against their arrogance and self-righteous pride. Though I will slightly disagree with you on one point. I personally love the Realmgate Wars. Those audiobooks are what got me into AoS as a setting to begin with, and they're the reason I own over 15,000 points of Stormcast.

re: what are the realms, actually? It is kinda like planets in how they formed. Stuff started clumping and swirling together until it became big and solid, except it's not just elements it's winds of magic in there, too. Eventually you get this pancake kinda thing (we don't know if you can tunnel through the bottom yet, we'll likely find out when the narrative shifts back to the skaven at the center) a "flat planet". The center of the realm where the oldest material is that was swirling and clumping with magic is the most stable part of a realm. The further you start walking away from the center towards the edge of a realm, the more wild the magic becomes. In Chamon, the mountains might be made entirely of metal, you'll start seeing more ghosts and dead people in Shyish, the land literally becomes sentient beasts in Ghur where a mountain range is a mouth that shifts open wide to become a valley, etc. If you keep walking and get to the very edge of the realms, reality, itself, begins to break down as you get closer to pure, raw magic wind. Teclis tried crossing to the edge of Hysh and was blinded and burned by the light magic and needed to be rescued. Theres an old piece of fluff about an old pilgrim who made it pretty close to the edge of Ghyra where he watched this scene of entire animal kingdoms evolve, decline, and disappear to be replaced by new ones. He saw entire civilizations spring forth and waste away. It was a constant cycle of overlapping growth and decay fractalized out everywhere he looked. Shyish works the opposite way though because Nagash did his necroquake so much of the realm is a giant swirling black hole that slowly sucks things from the edges towards the center where Nagashizzar and the Black Pyramid are. Here's a de-listed (idk why) GW youtube video about the realms and how they work: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4abeYBphNqHns0si=D6UWe5az3es59-Dg

I don’t think Sigmar left the other gods, it was quite opposite. He was actually betrayed by Nagash during the battle of burning skies. The death god held his forces back and watched the slaughter. Sigmar and Grungi barely holding on, decided to retreat to Azyr, trying to save as many as they could without compromising the realm of heavens. I think in the current lore, it’s considered Sigmar’s greatest shame. The Aelven (elves) gods were sealing Slaanesh away, and it’s considered a shared secret between them all. Gorkamorka split, fighting amongst each other and krumpin everyone in sight, so happy outcomes for them!!
@elegantoddity8609
@elegantoddity8609 8 ай бұрын
It's somewhat more complicated than outright betrayal. Gorkamorka got laughed at by Tzeentch and Khorne which was why he ended up ditching the pantheon (he doesn't like politics but beforehand he was surprisingly chill). The elf gods (including Alarielle) always thought the pantheon somewhat peripheral to their goals (mostly reviving the elf race) and became more detached once that was in front of them even if still part of it in spirit. Alarielle just wants her realm safe. Grungni actually ditched his race to try and toughen them up before he realized it'd be kinda awkward to come back now and claim he was doing them a favor, and so left out of shame and regret. He paid his debt to Sigmar many times over and it's not clear what he's been doing Nagash is more complicated because it's not clear if what Sigmar was doing when the Realm of Death was being invaded. Is Nagash just offended that Sigmar was off doing something important, or was Sigmar simply confident that Nagash could defend himself and so left him to his own devices? Overall it was more a combination of manipulation, miscommunication and self-interest that drove them all apart more than any inherent incompatibility, even in regards to the more divisive and previously unworkable members.

I think now especially with the start of dawn bringers and the citys of sigmar has made the whole lore and plot intersting, with the dawn bringers crusade being the somewhat focal point as it seem that nearly every faction has taken an interest, it feels like the lore is moving in a natural direction and is developing as time goes on, I mean look at the flesh eater courts, they whent form simple cannibal courts in ruins to an actural danger with the summer king return.

Ok, this was a solid entry point for your AoS. However, there are a couple of minor corrections that need to be made: Mallus, the core of the Old World, is actually floating in the sky of Azyr, it’s even in the art of Azyr you used, with the massive ring around it. Sigmar was the last god to give up in the war against Chaos at the end of the Age of Myth. Gorkamorka went crazy for a bit, cause Tzeentch whispered in his ear too much, but to his credit, he was able to get his shit together enough to fight at the final battle at Sigmar’s side. Nagash was already plotting to assume complete control and used the war as a segue for his treachery and caused a mini civil war within Grand Alliance Order. Alarielle was tricked by Nurgle into losing HARD. Morathi was scheming somewhere in Ulgu. Malerion (Malekith’s new name) was busy locking Ulgu down. Grimnir was a bit busy being dead cause he and Vulcatrix got blown to smithereens. Grugni was saving what Duardin he could and went to Azyr to fufill his oath. And the twins were busy with the massive clusterfuck that was going down in Hysh, though one of them (Tyrion if memory serves) was able to get enough of a moment to help at the final battle as well.

No mention of Archaon, sadge It would have simplified a lot of age of chaos section if you included his exploits more thorougly tbh

Im not saying theyll do it. But i dont see Slaneesh coming back. If it does itll be comepletly void of certain aspects of the orginal concept for it.

I despise AoS though I still enjoy your content. The problem I have with the setting aside from anything to do with Fantasy is that theres no real way to ground myself in the setting. I could only find the vaguest of maps and such. Combined with the mythic fantasy setting it gives me the same feeling of two DBZ characters having a fistfight in an empty void. It's all style and no substance. Theres been nothing to relate to for the longest time. And even now when they've brought out the Cities of Sigmar it's just made me roll my eyes because it's the absolute goofiest looking designs that exemplify AoS's visual design vomit.
