I love the way you use logic and physics to unravel what is really happening during the golf swing. It really is so refreshing and helpful. Thank you and please keep producing more material.

Damn thats genius. The other thing you said about the swing direction being 90 degrees from where your facing changed everything for me. That was genius. Two great contributions. Much appreciated.

Super helpful mind hack... it immediately helped me not stand up, out of my shot, too soon after impact.

I miss seeing you and your insight into the swing. The hard part to your understanding is how my mind will try and default back to thinking the swing is upright

Again, you have a distinct advantage with your long neck, you probably hit it very effective and long, your shoulders slope downward also. Some of us have short necks and square shoulders. What do you think of different body shapes and sizes?

Low to High similar to a 'top spin' tennis stroke.
@HolyGrailOfGolfАй бұрын
The golf swing is quite similar to a tennis serve, they just happen at a very different angle in relation to the ground. Also, we have to compensate for the weight and drag of the golf club because it’s longer and heavier than a tennis racket.

I love many of your videos and how you connect the mind to the swing...however in this case I think the issue is that if you freeze the video at impact position when you are actually hitting the ball (which I did), you will see that you are standing pretty much straight up, with hardly any spine angle, relative to your setup position when you are bent over. So maybe this is true in the mind but it's not actually how your swing works.

Interesting observation. Thank you for sharing your opinion. I like to hear opposing opinions. Although, yeah, I lost a little spine angle in that swing but my thoracic spine, neck and head remained in their address orientation and it's our head that gives us our perception of the world. Thinking of the golf swing as flat and level is a game-changer for those that truly embrace it. Thanks for the comment. Keep 'em coming.

Why maybe a split grip would be the optimal way to play. It kinda presets you to tilt

Do you think that wearing shoes that have a higher heel lift would do anything as far as naturally making you feel like up was more to the side. If your shoes are normally flat (_), wouldn’t a shoe more like (\) not as exaggerated obviously, automatically change what “up” is when standing flat footed? Instead of your spine being like this (|), itd be like this (/)
@HolyGrailOfGolf6 күн бұрын
That's a funny idea but I don't think it would work. If anything a heel would create the opposite because you'd already be compensating for the hell by leaning back slightly, even though you'd be unaware that you're doing it. Many things upon first glance seem to be one way but upon further examination are actually the total opposite ... and that happen a lot in golf. The most accurate players tend to have the most shoulder tilt at impact. Juaquin Neimann lost a LIV tournament because he hit the pin so many times with his approach - Like 6 times in one round and it cost him, big-time.

Using prepositions to describe patterns of movement, will always be a handicap in golf. Love that pun. If you want to be a good golf coach, grammar skills can be very useful. Prepositional phrases, and phrasal verbs are not the same grammatical structure. Phrasal verbs are idioms, meaning they don't make sense....at all. Turn on the light vs turn on a dime. Golf and grammar....gotta have a sense of humor. Peace brother.

Like everything else in any kind of instruction/coaching. It's who has the chalk last....in other words, perception and opinion and who has the pen or chalk. A lot of discussion and analysis, but at the end of the day, tell us how to hit the ball more consistently! Lol!
