All other versions of this song are illegal and unauthorised. This is the official video of what the voters on The BBC Red Nose Day considered to be the worst charity record ever made. In 1985, when Doctor Who was cancelled after season twenty two, then after fan pressure, the BBC backtracked and gave it an 18 month hiatus instead of an outright cancellation. The producer John Nathan Turner's boyfriend, Gary Downie, came up with the excruciating idea of making a Band Aid type charity record to save the show. Unfortunately, I got dragged into this, along with Hans Zimmer and Fiachra Trench, to produce the most APPALLING stain on my career. Who Cares was created to sing the execrable "Doctor In Distress", seen here for the first time ever officially, and in HD. I hate it but it still needed to be officially on KZbin.

This song is a banger, and quite literally launched the career of Hans Zimmer. I like it as much today as when I first heard it in those dark days of 1985. Who sang the opening line of 'Do They Know it's Christmas' might be the established pub quiz question, but really it should be who sang the first line of this classic, and the answer should be the incomparably talented Bobby G.

Actually, I really like this song. The rhythm is better than most songs today. It would be nice to have a behind-the-scenes of this MV , like the "We Are The World" of Michael Jackson。 the BBC could even make a special DVD🤭.

As a Doctor Who fan for 35 years, this is the most toe-curlingly gross and embarassing thing associated with the show that has ever been made. I'd say that everyone involved in making it should be up on charges in the Hague, but I'm going to give at least some of them the benefit of the doubt and assume they felt pressured to do it because of the charity connection. Still, it's something I wish fandom could just quietly agree to forget ever existed.

Surely dimensions in time is up there ? I also feel you're being way to lenient on the BBV nonsense, you know, the guys who thought a zygon was best used for sofcore porn, (look up zygon, when being you just isn't enough, actually probably better for you to not have burdened by knowledge of it)

i LOVE it. This takes me back - I close my eyes and I’m 10/11 yrs old again. Awesome seeing such a clear version, but I guess that’s what’s possible when it’s uploaded from a master copy. Thanks for a few minutes traveled back to the 80’s.

Not gonna lie. The more I listened the more I feel it was much better. Their vocal may hit or miss but still blend well. On the other hand, There's another charity record called Spirit Of The Forest in 1989 that made for protecting the rainforest. Have a lot of famous singer participate but unfortunately the chemistry was very weak.

Reckon it would be more palatable had you had more people on it who could sing, or operate a mixing desk. Those vocals are far too low and flat in the mix.
