She was willing to help Nadia and Drayden(the main characters) because as she said: she also lost a dear person long ago(and it seems she is the one who caused that). She can be very hostile towards humans who don't like elves and she can even threaten to kill them. Her rage moment at the end toward the commander(the antagonist) was so satisfying. Yep she can become very serious if it's needed. Oh and let's not forget that insane ability she used to control the trees of the arlathan forest, she destroyed some templar with that. Really hope she can use it in veilguard. And finally she lost Flicker at the end of the episode(he was as cute as Assan😢) . I really hope there will be a mission in Veilguard to kinda "resurrect" Flicker and I will do everything to help her😌. You should really watch the serie(or listen :D). It's a prequel to Veilguard and Solas is a central figure and he has.... let's say "things" to settle with Nadia, the protagonist.

I don't usually look for the settings to disable special effects, but I have seen this in several games. I imagine if anyone does not like the frequent light shows during battle or travel, there should be something to disable it. I think the game is gorgeous and there is really no need for weapons that glow, but it really doesn't bother me too much. The character creator for the game has stepped up a lot from what we have seen in the past. Really nice work. I might even be able to create a decent Rook by myself and without the need for mods. I also saw we have an option to import characters from other creations? That could helpful. I'm really surprised we've seen this much content to date. We still have over a week for this month and then a full month to go. Hopefully we'll keep getting bits to chew on until release day.

Mysterious silhouette... So far the reviews seem to confirm everything that I have suspected since the very first trailer, it's just not for me. I am sure it's at least a solid game, I will play it for the story if nothing else, but I doubt I will continue following the series since it seems they have choose a more streamlined, action, mass appeal direction that I am personally not very interested in as a more classic cRPG fan. Can't wait to play it though.

The best stories are the ones that hook you with a need to know what happens next & can make you truly care about it's characters, even when you don't relate to them. This is what Dragon Age has excelled at so it makes me happy that trend will likely continue. The rest is just a matter of preference, really. (For me, anyway.) As for MY preferences... Character art & design - Bad. Especially Assan & the Qunari. Truly cringe inducing. I'm not as sold on the character creator as most folks either. If you don't have an age or complexion setting, letting me play with my bulge size isn't going to impress me. Environmental art & design - Excellent. Particularly in the variety of it's mood & locations. If the entire world is a post apocalyptic hellscape why would you fight to preserve it? Combat - I've played enough action games to know I'll have fun with this. I had fun with the combo/detonator system in Mass Effect so that's a plus for me. Still, all those spell effects are gonna cause a serious spike in seizure calls to emergency services. Trust me. The fact that all classes have long & close range attacks as well as weapon switching on the fly could be a big plus or just a big change. We'll see, I guess. Will I be buying this game? Hell yeah. I'm actually optimistic now. I don't expect perfection, but I do want compelling. So far, it seems I just might get it.

Thought Skill Up's review was encouraging, but he did say that he could never get into the other three games which might cause someone who enjoyed the earlier games to hesitate a bit. In one sense he was saying he liked it, because it wasn't like the other games.

I'm very excited to play DAV. It's going to be worth the wait I'm sure. I agree that combat looks reminiscent of DA2. I've accepted that we'll never go back to Origins gameplay now, times have moved on. Yu Suzuki tried to go back in time with Shenmue 3 but it had a very mixed reception. Purists loved it for the nostalgia kick, but it alienated newer players I think.

I hate to constantly sound like a Debbie Downer but did Bioware add extra expenses to KZbinrs who mentioned "Hair mechanics" as dang alot of them went on a while about it. Maybe cause I've got a mohawk and only saw like 2 options for that I'm salty. 😂 After seeing some clips the Party in my head still hasn't changed Lucanis and Emmerich, I think would be banter/snark gold and quite the duo gameplay/mechanically speaking. Looking good, Goose! I'm sure next step in your youtuber's career will be just as elegant and classy, as everything that came before. Beams of support 🤗 As for subject of the day, after watching new videos from journalists and few trustworthy youtubers, who usually don't pull any punches when it comes to reviews, I feel relief and glad to be wrong in my initial assessment of the game. That cursed first trailer and lackluster following marketing dropped red flags everywhere, but latest development put record strait. Like this won't be buggy mess as Andromeda, because pretty much everyone and their mother confirmed game runs smoothly for hours and looks surprisingly polished for modern AAA product. Giving reviewers six-seven hours of play shows unprecedented believe in their product, because if it was in any way unstable, it would show. Character creator looks amazing, I probably gonna spent unreasonable amount of time playing with all those sliders and morphs. Story and branching narrative is super developed, one guy made several reloads of certain quests to choose different options and saw consequences almost immediately, some of which include dooming a city or lives of NPC, and this is just first act of the game. Not to mention, few reviewers said first act feels like it could have been the game, and we have three of them with second act being specifically about consequences of our decisions. It reminds me of Inquisition, where you thought you gonna deal with Bridge, and it's done in first act. Makes you wonder if in here Ghill and Elgarnan will be red haring and we will return to Solas as main antagonist after 🤔 Either way, this is awesome, I adore when games put that kind of cause and effect into narrative and already sure I'm gonna make multiple runs to see them all. They nailed balance between open exploration and focus, giving Origins approach to progression, which in my opinion was the best in this regard. We set for lore and fanservice, having Inky with new fashionable clothes and fancy prosthetic arm, and get to play chunks of the game as Solas in ancient times. I love everything about it, even if I had to quickly click away from certain video, where Solas was about to talk to Ghill, because it is smth I want to experience myself. This is probably the only bad thing I see in a flood of new information - spoilers are everywhere 😵‍💫 And art style is all over the place, environments go for hyperrealism swinging from horror to fairy tale high fantasy, people look a bit disproportionate. I think they could have benefited from unified stylization, but now is too late, we'll have to get use to it. In general I'm on board, right now I feel the hype I wanted to feel at initial reveal and can't wait to put my teeth into this game. Also, curious what are they going to do for next month? They already shown pretty much everything they could without stepping into game breaking spoilers territory. It could go in one of two ways - starving interns will strike again and leak some end game shit, or we could get playable CC demo, which will be beyond cool. Dunno, from now on I'm kinda weary about going into fandom spaces, because there is such thing as too much information. Anyway, this is my two cents 😉

I mean, they dropped huge infodumps every week for past two months, and usually by the end of third-forth day it already chewed up to the bone by dozens of content creators with nothing new left to say. Also, if we can pre-create our avatars before launch, we could dive right into action without wasting hours tweaking shape of the nose in different lighting 🤣

Yeah, he was the first who I watched. If we look critically at his video, there was more about his personal preferences than about informing which is absolutely valid from his pov. He's a gamer, not a journalist. Therefore he gathers people with similar tastes for games. Glowing is everywhere, no secrets seem hidden and items can glow too. It's the same issue that my husband has. However it's strictly visual and as I said, I don't like to repeat myself. We've talked enough about the visuals and art style to form an opinion.

@@ImpGoose yes, the issues called out where the hub,mobile UI, and the art style. As you said he focused on the gameplay side and how it felt to play it. The game under all that cluttered mess sounds like it can be fun if you can ignore the heavy gamified things like awkward transitions and other such things. Which as the first person stated different taste for different folks or I say different tolerance level for amateur game design as experienced teams would want to hide those things better to avoid breaking emersion. All in all, it sounds like to some people it will be a 8/10 and others 6/10, just depends on how much you can ignore the those things. I almost never use mods but yes I will sure be moding cause I can’t stand the Hub, UX/UI, or the designs all of which are things I know a mod can correct. I am mostly just disappointed that I know I will have to do so just to enjoy the game that 10 years ago I don’t feel those issues would have been there.

That's the thing that I heard in the review: even if you turn off most of the effects, the game is still heavily saturated with glowing and flashes

@@ImpGoose We will see if he's right but I remember the first time I saw Inquisition combat I had the same impression since it was different from the previous games then I played it and I loved it to this day it's my favourite DA game I reinstalled it a couple of months ago and it's still on my pc. I must say I would have preferred a game that looked more like Inquisition but it's not the first time they make changes we will see. One thing is certain I will play this game and I'm convinced it will be a good game maybe not a masterpiece but it's strange many people want only masterpieces from Bioware otherwise the games are crap while they are prefectly fine with average games from other developers so those other games sell and Bioware games are crushed. It's absolutely unfair and stupid they did that to Mass Effect Andromeda which is not at the level of the trilogy but it's a perfectly fine game way better than games like Starfield or Jedi Fallen Order or hundreds of other games which selled fine (well maybe not Starfield lol). So I hope people will mantain an open mind and will judge the game for what it is not in comparison with the previous games.

Every game has demo/early access/beta nowadays. This build for influencers can be stripped of some spoilery things and be released as a demo. People can start origin quests to choose favourite companions, look at skilltree and start theorycrafting. They already spoiled enough with trailers so few more doesnt hurt if the game has 40 sliders of endings, so whats up? Instead we rely on previews from mostly paid trips. I can tell when people are excited for the game and these people looked liked they have seen a ghost

@@ImpGoose oh i watched your theory video on bellara’s ookie spookie triangles! how creepy, the fadejumper is covered in symbols that represent the veil. you claim to be mostly well versed in inquisition lore, but don’t even know that the triangles were used in Solas’ murals to represent the physicality of the veil. you’re coming at Dragon Age with a Disney-informed outlook of character design. i understand not liking a character at first glance, i don’t very well like Lucanis so far. but to say that “there are plenty of other companions to choose from” before you’ve even seen her in the game is wild.

Yeah, he was the first who I watched. If we look critically at his video, there was more about his personal preferences than about informing which is absolutely valid from his pov. He's a gamer, not a journalist. Therefore he gathers people with similar tastes for games. Glowing is everywhere, no secrets seem hidden and items can glow too. It's the same issue that my husband has. However it's strictly visual and as I said, I don't like to repeat myself. We've talked enough about the visuals and art style to form an opinion 😏

No, "top surgical scars" is not a "praiseworthy customization option". It's pandering. You are in a world where you can literally transmute to another animal that is COMPLETELY different in anatomical structure. You regenerate lost limbs. YOU DON'T GET "BREAST REMOVAL SCARS" in this world. Qunaris and elves have been perversed, mostly having features of a black IRL person, and the 100% slider for breast and butt is unrealistically very small. The game has low-budget animations as well. And the "reports" you're referring to are of coursed biased and "sanitized".

I also watched Asmongold, though it doesn't mean that he is right about everything. Top surgical scars weren't made for us or for the fantasy aspect. We share this game with different people who relate to different things. If you refuse to accept that there are as many world states and realities as people, that's a choice. We do share it with different people, but that doesn't mean you need to pander to everyone. If we are, then let's be genuine about it and have the character creator include down syndrome defects, small hands defects, and each and every spectrum possible. I do not mind inclusivity. But in this game, it's OBVIOUSLY done to score points, since it only "includes" a specific set of people. And yes, noone should be demanded to bend to anyone's taste. To that point, I will not be buying this game because it disrespect DAO's world in A LOT of ways. It's not grounded to the DA world AT ALL. It's made primarily for checkboxes. You too, in your naivety, will find that the "woke"/alphabet mob is smaller than you think. By thinking that appealing to the minority, your channel will grow better and faster, you set yourself up for downfall. You do not genuinely support this "cause" or demographic. You're simply pandering, and your hollow words with no substantial logic that is backed by non-parroted words ring hollow. Pandering to the loud minority is not going to get you growth. Remember that the empty can is louder than the one that's full.

Statistically, ~1% or disabled in a way that deters normal everyday functions. But do they demand that all stairs be replaced with ramps? Now think VERY CAREFULLY why. Because they are the minority, correct? Now ~95% of the world are heterosexuals. Why in the world do you think that transitioners who had their breasts removed can get representition, and people with down syndrome do not? Why do you not respect them and instead drag people whose life you know absolutely nothing about? What makes YOU think you have the moral capacity and highground to dictate what is and what is not right, or what can be and cannot be represented? The world is governed by rules and laws that is designed to instill as much order as possible. I know it may sound strange hearing this come from me, but I have the exact same fears or discomfort about showing myself on camera as you do. I didn't feel I had enough presents to be entertaining or do I really feel positive about my looks. I'm always do the thing that scares me most. like this vlog style a lot, very mysterious and good room lighting too. My nitpick of character creator the butt slider at max setting is so small. I thought my Rook could have baker's dozen of cake, not cupcakes damn lol. vanilla DAO on pc I've heard isnt playable. some bugs bioware never patched can stop progression so you need certain mod that fixes it sadly.
