Who is DC Comics "The Question?" Unknown & Dangerously Unstable

To this day I still think the question is the single most slept on character. He’s so mysterious,badass, and has storylines that blow your mind like Detective Comics. He’s like the merge between Batman and Rorschach. I first got wind of this character when i was little on justice league than would later see him in Batman Brave and The Bold. Literally just makes every story he’s in so much better. He’s like the comic equivalent to getting a feature from Sean Paul. 😂

They definitely need to do him on film. Apparently there were plans to a few years ago but Watchmen had come out in 2009 and obviously the question shares a lot of similarities with Rorschach. I know they do batman a lot but I kinda wanna see a batman and question team up on film, like a purely detective style film.

Alan Moore was gonna use The Question in watchmen but for reasons he couldn't use it, so he just ended up making his own character (Rorschach) based on The Question. Same with Doctor Manhattan being inspired by Captain Atom because he was originally going to use Captain Atom.

(saddly the HBO series never really looked into this further and just left it in the "kkk appropriated his image", not even really one line that said "Roschach maybe crazy and bigoted but not that crazy and twisted" or "well he was insane so maybe he really liked these guys.")

I really love the question as a character. I know people who hate on him because he's not superpowered or a Mary Sue or a Gary stew even though it's supposed to be say that they don't like those kind of characters yet they always reference them.... As a kid I always thought he was kind of cool (during the animated era with Justice League) because most superheroes are these spandex wearing guys with insane superpowers, but then you had The Question who is literally just this noire detective character. I will admit it, I am one of those individual that when I think of the Question I think of his original iteration. This new version of the Questions does make me ask (see what I did there...lol), is he really the character he himself doing what the Spectre does; using human host, in this case of course using Victor Szasz. DC comics is doing a lot of changes right now, I really wonder where they are going with great characters like these, I guess you would say now that is the Question (again see what I did there...lol). Now, I presume your grade is related to the current, more mystical, version of The Question and not his original incarnation. I actually enjoyed it when Renee Montoya took over the role, which might have been the best development from the New 52 if they didn't reverse it almost immediately and returned Vic Sage to the role. A pity - she could have really developed into a very intriguing character. This current version? I'm not sure what I think about him. I think DC just changed too much here. The original Question, of course, was a simplified version of Steve Ditko's Mr A. Now, what difference between him and the Phantom Stranger except that The Question doesn't have a face? And what happened to Renee in the new era anyway?

Just to be clear for everyone in the comments, Alan Moore's inspiration for Rorschach was the Charlton Comics version of the Question as envisioned by Steve Ditko during his "objectivism" phase during the late 60's, early 70's. Since Denny O'Neil's legendary run in 1987, the character has fluctuated in philosophical stance depending on the writer, but maintains a conspiratorial mindset and distrust of authority. That being said, the only similarities that can be drawn between the two characters now are mostly superficial. The Question is everything that Rorschach could never be. This isn't an opinion... It's a certified fact.
