That just the whole idea and implementation of superhuman eugenics mega babies was doomed to create weird emotionally fucky adults when their dad is so far beyond human he just can't even remember basic human decency or the emotional needs of his sons. That and I don't think he cared much either. What is so stupid is absolutely no reason it has to be one of those 2 things. The setting is mature enough now and so long overdue with an anti-imperial faction that are not what a 13 year old would call cool. Not following the emperor guarantees a fall to a demonic extreme... somehow? Always? Why!? He is genuinely God then if disagreeing with him 100% is part and parcel to damnation.

Some people believe when the Khan returns he will be a champion for Cegorach.
@thisistherevolt
@thisistherevolt 5 ай бұрын
Nah, I do think he'll be the next Loyalist to return. Sandman of Terra convinced me of that. Thematically, it makes too much sense with Fulgrim coming back. The Lion and Guilliman would have serious trouble fighting Snakeboy at the moment, but the Khan can enter into Alakh Geh and handle six arms or whatever it is. I bet Lorgar shows up at the beginning of 11th or end of 10th edition too. Leman will be the big 11th edition return I think.
@Pragabond
@Pragabond 4 ай бұрын
@@thisistherevolt To be fair just because it would be thematically good and a smart pick from a writing perspective doesn't mean that GW will make that good writing choice. Especially since the Khan isn't super popular and ultimately a Primarch coming back IS still first about selling models. Why not bring back the most popular and get bigger number? I saw the video too and I think he made great points but writers are individuals so no guarantee the people overseeing the lore in general will have the same perspective. It would be insanely dope to have him come back next he's my favorite and him being among the first three to return would give him a chance to finally be seen by the fandom and given all the more time to flesh him out and show why he's the best. If he's like the 5th or 6th to come back things will be so crowded they might just not even do more than a book on him. I would kill to see the Khan come back and just straight up start doing his own thing in the Dark Imperium or something because man fuck the Imperium and my dad's dusty brittle ass. Extra dope if he's learned the webway well enough to be able to travel easily within the Dark Imperium without the light of the Emperor.

@@Pragabond a fellow person of culture? For the Emperor and the Khan brother. In Sandman's member only streams he's mentioned a couple details not in the video, like how Dan Abnett likely has the easiest path to revealing the Khan with the conclusion of the King in Yellow and Eisenhorn stuff. The Webway, Raskin, the Custodes and the Dark Aeldari Golden Throne mess needs to get explained away too, which can be tied up nicely with the Pariah Nexus stuff. There's a path that can easily bring the Khan back here, while advancing the storyline.

Jaghatai's clarity of thought is incredible. My favorite quote rarely gets referenced and puts him in stark contrast to Horus. It shows why Chaos has no purchase on him: "I do not doubt your visions. But what do they change? Shall we stare up at the shadows and let our blades fall from our hands? Know this, son of Magnus. There is more under the arch of heaven than victory or defeat. We may fall back but not forever. We may feint and we may weave, but not forever. We may yet be doomed to lose all that we cherish, but we shall do so in the knowledge that we could have turned away, and did not. We remained true. They can never have this, not if they burn all we built and scorn us through the dancing flames. You hear me? We remained true."

I have to disagree slightly with well-adjusted. That has to go to Guilliman. The Khan isn’t maladjusted, but he has his moments. When conquering Chigoris he annihilated entire tribes that refused to join him, including the women and children. He also killed his own legion, though in his defense, they were traitors, so we can hardly hold it against him. Lastly, he is a bit more idealistic than the norm, waffling between supporting his father and not. He was inexplicably part of the group that confronted Malcador (along with Alpharius and Horus) over the issue of the statues of the lost Primarchs, whom he had never met.

I find it hilarious that the Khan's place amongst the fandom and the way he is treated by the lore when he doesn't have the spotlight just lines up perfectly with his character. He's the unknown and unremarkable, until you actually pay attention to him and he turns out to be the most fascinating person amongst a dysfunctional family of absolute drama queens, just by how _normal_ he is. He doesn't have bombastic petty drama to him, and that's an anomaly amongst the sons of the Emperor who seem to live and breathe petty drama. He has no secrets, everything is laid bare, but nobody knows a damn thing about him because they don't see him to be as important as his brothers, and that's exactly how he likes it.

@@syraphian It’s a myth that Guilliman is just the balanced or medium primarch. He specifically specializes in organization beyond all other primarchs even Rogal Dorn. Intelligence is problem solving ability without using prior knowledge, while Guilliman is no doubt intelligent this is not as big of an investment as wsidom for him. Intelligence fits the most with Perturabo who can look at a machine and instantly know how to break it down and improve it. It is stated in the Corax book that while Corax may win a battle, Guilliman will always win the war because once Corax did an attack he would get away with doing it again. This is directly in line with wisdom, nearly all of what Guilliman does follows the same pattern of learning and never making the same mistakes twice.

While I do love the Khan, he does tend to make every other Primarch look bafflingly stupid just by being the one Primarch who seems to see through the glamour of the Emperor and Imperium without seeming to need to make any effort. He see's the horrendous face of the Imperium for what it is - Genocide, Xenocide, Cultural Genocide, forced assimilation, slavery and unnecessary massacre - and doesn't simply go "Well, you are my dad, so you have a good reason for all this. Imma gonna follow you unquestioningly." like every other Primarch. (except Angron... heh. Can you imagine a non-butchered Angron teaming up with the Khan? Ahem. Anyway.) And then he opposes the Rebellion because they employ Chaos and are WORSE than the Imperium, not because he's particularly loyal to the Imperium. (I'm almost 100% certain that if Horus had rebelled BEFORE becoming Chaos tainted, the Khan would have joined him.) But my solution to this problem would be for Black Library and GW to write the other Primarchs better than they currently do. Write up to the standard they have set with the Khan rather than drop down to the level of Leman Russ or Dorn.

I would love for the Khan to return, but not next. Lemme cook. Leman is probably next. His boys have their own codex, and he's right there in the warp on his quest. Give him a character arc, have him grow, yadda yadda, humbled Lion vibes. Then give us Dorn, but Black Templar Dorn. He's a little crazy after losing his hand. He's pissed now. He wants a fight. So we have 4 Primarchs and all of them have changed and grown into this new millenium. Then bring the Khan in, and don't give him an arc. He doesn't need one. He walks into the room with his brothers just like he left after the heresy. Give him that "Glad to see you pulled your heads out of your asses" vibe.

I also have to say that I hate that I love pretty much all of the primarchs. They're all fun and cool, creating amazing marines and cultures for the marines. Want to make a White Scar army but I got salamanders taking up my marines. Want an Iron Warriors army but I got Word Bearers taking my CSM slot.

The way you described how Jaghatai would never fall to Chaos reminded me that each Primarch is a representation and specialization of 1 aspect of the emporer, and Jaghatai perfectly represents his nature as Anethema to Chaos just through different means. Just as the Emporer is Anethema to Chaos because he is ORDER, Jaghatai is anethema to Chsos because he is FREE

Bro said nothing for 12 minutes Saying "ah he is more than what people say" "ah he is so cool and great" while not adding sauce I guess its expected for a legion of which the deal is "they attack quickly" unlike... every... army ever... The idea of death guards going slowly makes sense as a unique strategy because commonly you dont want to give your enemy time to respond White scars "unique" strategy is just... basic strategy Also for "keeping their culture" GW white scars marines sure are some of the most generic ones Space wolves, salamanders, ultramarines and hell even iron hands actually feel like they dawn their traditions, not white scars I dont hate white scars just think they are the biggest meh and those who say they are special sniff too many of their own farts and need to agree that GW needs to give them more of their own unique nature

If the white scars ever get a big release I will be the first in line. They’re my favorite codex compliant chapter and will undoubtedly be my first space marine army. No doubt about it

Who is the Warhawk of Chogoris? Only the greatest rider of the Urdu Jaghatai, Khaghan of the Talscar, a man who never suffered fools and chafed under the constraints of civilisation. An outsider and an outrider, a poet and a warrior. Above all, beyond anything else, he was perhaps the most logical of his brothers save for Gulliman - when he had no information on the outbreak of the Heresy, he waited until more information was given. He assessed his situation, and waited to decide. He was a man who valued truth and honesty above all. He wore the trappings of a barbarian because ot kept people away from him, as he withered around the easy fraternity of his brothers.

Khan is a mysterious guy. I think he’s cool, independent, and interesting. He seems like a sage to me. I like him despite don’t understand him much and it didn’t bother me at all. Khan is a guy I want to simply like him and have him around, just to be observed. That’s already fine.

Hello. Wow after watching this vieo, i find the ideas of Jaghatai so simmilar to the ideas of Cossacks from 16 century. The liberty and freedom of soul and mind. This is really cool i can find something from my culture here deep in Jaghatai Khan lore

Yeah if you read thru the entire horus heresy, jaghatai will easily become one of your favorite primarchs if not of all characters. He's absolutely among my favorite and I don't think gets nearly enough credit for how much more humanity he has than some of his brothers. He loves his people. Not to mention he is somewhat secretly a complete badass. Listening to him talk crap to fulgrim and mortarion in front of all of his brothers that were on ullanor when the big E named horus the war master. He literally called fulgrim a peacock and told both of them that they couldn't come close to winning a duel against him, cause they don't know a thing about him. While fulgrim can't stop talking about himself

The Khan is like the better halfs of Russ (his lethality and brutality)and the Lion (his regal demeanor and his connection to his home) unfortunately most see his Russ half as instead savagery and barbarism. The lion's half as instead superstition and strange customs that for the outside look (from the viewer's perspective) beneath thier position

I think a more expanded lore video on the khan, out all the primarks... i know very little about him and his culture in general. Ive heard hes made people space marines for kicking ass in fights or crazy feats of courage.

My head cannon is that the Khan has become a champion of the laughing god, he was known for laughing during battle and I also think the laughing god and the khans agendas would line up. And tbf the other option is the dark eldar witch khan would not join with.

i like this episode about the khan and honestly find my only critique is that i wish it was a longer deeper dive into both the character and his lore as well as your own interpretations of said lore and feelings about his actions through the great crusade and the heresy. i'll be honest im more of a Vulkan and salamanders kinda guy but Chagatai has always facinated me and id like to know more.
