Definitely Butter's mom. She even tried drowning him that one time. Liane Cartman was a close second. She coddled her son and treated him more like a friend because she wanted companionship which was why she completely undid his development in "Tsst." While Cartman himself is to blame for his behavior, Liane (and the other boys to an extent) also contributed to making Cartman such a monster. But I am proud of her for starting to put her foot down and refusing to give into Cartman after he screwed them out of their house because he forced her to quit her job. Sheila...a Karen before the concept was a meme. Annoying, but at the least, she was well-intentioned.

Honestly Liane's just a shit mother in general, Hell Cartman even *detested* her treatment of him at the beginning of the series in the forms of denying some of the shitty food she gave him, and hated how she babied him. Later in the series by the time she's actually *trying* to put her foot down it's too late, with how she treated him, and how Kyle and Stan treated him, he was fucked. Case in point how Kyle and Stan verbally harassed the second fattest kid in South Park so much that by the middle of the episode he was sounding EXACTLY like Cartman, and that when Cartman returned the boy legit just broke down and hugging Cartman and thanking him for coming back. But yeah, Butters' mom is just absolute shit, at LEAST Liane tried to become a better mother even if it was too late, Butters' mom straight up just trying to kill her son, her and Butters' father just ground him for absolutely no reason.

It is hard for me to say that Liane Cartman is the worst mom in SP because individually speaking, she's a fairly decent person; however, in terms of whose mom caused the biggest damage to their own children, or in Cartman's case, society as a whole, she's definitely the worst.

One thing I’m surprised you didn’t bring up about Tweek’s parents is how in Stick of Truth, it’s revealed that Richard actually laces most of his coffee with crystal meth so his customers get addicted, and that he likely uses his son as a lab rat to test it. While it’s not outright said if Helen knows about this, she already seems fully complicit in Tweek’s gaslighting and is always the one to pour him coffee regardless of whether he even asked for it or not.

I wanna say something in favor of Kenny's mom: Despite her toxic marriage and poverty, she always makes sure her kids have what little food they got on the table; she traveled with Kenny for those singing lessons he wanted to support his dream on a nothing budget; she is always seen grieving whenever Kenny died; always trying to make the best out of her mom-friend relationships; overall never intentionally sets out to hurt her kids. I think the worst thing she does is staying in that toxic relationship as that could be seen as psychological neglect having her kids witness their drunk fighting (and I call it toxic relationship cause I think it is mutually abusive on every level; emotional, financial, physical, and psychological)

Its between Cartman's mother and Butter's mother but Butter's mother takes the cake due to her being complicit in abusing him and allowing her husband to followed closely by Cartman's because she refuses to discipline him except for the recent season and an earlier season where she changed her mind and went back to spoiling him but it seemed to work out in the special because Cartman turned out to be a pretty good adult where Butters grew up to be a scammer in a mental ward. Sheila has always been a great mother and is one of the best mothers in the series.

Vincent Bugliosi said he had "never seen a case where guilt is more obvious." And yet, because of a race-baiting lawyer and a BLATANTLY tainted jury pool, instead of rotting away on Death Row trying to avoid being the guy who has to pick up the soap, as what *SHOULD* have happened to him, Simpson is, at this very moment, on a golf course deciding whether he should use his 7 iron or his wedge on this next shot. O.J. Simpson _could_ be used as a case study for the abolishment of the Double Jeopardy Law. Albeit that can't _actually_ be allowed to happen. Double Jeopardy is still a vital part of the American Judicial System, even though it can lead to miscarriages of justice like the Simpson Case.

l haven't watched South Park in a decade or more but one of the reasons I stopped watching is that Butters was my favorite character and the way his parents treated him got to a point where I couldn't even enjoy the show anymore. I actually wrote a self-indulgent fanfic after I stopped watching where Butters' parents along with Cartman died in some accident, Cartman's mom ended up adopting Butters, and after working through the pain of their losses together they became the happiest and most loving family in town.

Sharon Marsh once went insane from Stan's fish constantly killing people, while assuming it was Stan doing it all along. At the end of the episode, Randy found a police officer trapped in the basement. It was the only time when Randy was the stable one.

Does everyone remember that time when all the parents were so paranoid that their kids would get kidnapped? So much so that they exiled them to protect them from their own parents while their was a wall around the town to prevent that happening (this was because a news anchorman kept saying their kids were in danger every time they found a solution). What made it funnier - or worse, depending on how you see it - a Mongolian army showed up to invade, only to then temporarily adopt the kids who would eventually help the Mongol army win.

I feel SO BAD for poor Butters. He got the worst mom, and dad. Even Randy loves his kids a 100x more. Butters was ignored while being beaten, pleading for his life, while his parents were reading on the other side of the door. He’s constantly grounded for things he didn’t do, because his parents refuse to listen to him. His parents are always saying “not now Butters,” so they also don’t want to hear him during the everyday too. Committed an attempt murder on Butters, and lied to cover it up. THEY SOLD THEIR SON, and the only reason the deal went through was because, Butters ran away after pleading with his parents not to sell him to Paris Hilton. THEY ARE THE WORST!!!

Kyle's mom is nowhere on the same level as bad as Butter's mother. Shelia is annoying buts that's probably her worst trait and the series is calming down on that so she isnt a big issue for me like when I was a kid. In fact, there are times when I do agree with her. Butters's mother on the other hand, is the worst! The mental and physical abuse of that child is hard to watch sometimes, especially when you have similar traumas. The same can be said for his father as well. Side note, I also like Sharon Marsh, feel like she should get more love in future episodes.

TBH most of the mom’s are pretty bad (except Sharon and Strong Woman). Sheila may be a psycho but she’s at least gotten better as the show went on. Linda allows her husband to abuse Butters and takes part in it and even tried to kill Butters. That’s why I’ll give the edge to Linda

Idk for me Sheila is not that bad of a mom honestly, she was at her peak of bad parenting in the movie and then learned her lesson, but her intentions were the best throughout the whole thing. I think it's a tossup for me between Liane Cartman and Linda Stotch. Linda Stotch is just terrible for misunderstanding her son and thinking he was evil or a demon when he was totally normal. It seems that Butters' parents set high expectations for him and made him too inhibited to be one of the cool kids at school, so basically he's a social outcast only because he's the product of uptight parenting. But there's Kenny's mom who's in a cult and sees no harm in continually Cthuluing a new Kenny into existence whenever the old one dies, and is generally indifferent and uses drugs to escape her life instead of fixing or coping with it. But the worst mom is I think Liane Cartman. She's an extreme doormat and enabler, who never changes based on an Aesop (whereas I think Sheila Broflovski does learn and change more). She sees her son with rose-colored glasses even though he's basically literally Hitler. Talk about living in denial! (But also talk about how Tweak's parents basically made him what he is by giving him ridiculous amounts of caffeine?)

I'd definitely say Linda Stotch is the worst out of the South Park moms due to attempted drowning, constant grounding, selling him to Paris Hilton as her pet, and even attempting to revive Butters from the dead when she thought he offed himself (when really it was a pig because Cartman wanted Butters to pretend to be Marjorine.) Liane eventually learns not to spoil Cartman too much and at least tries to be a good parent later. Carol may yell at Kenny a lot, but she shows genuine concern for him during his many deaths. Sharon may be somewhat paranoid when it comes to Stan's safety, but for the most part she's very loving. The only time Butters' mom was a good parent to him was when she got high in part two of the Post-Pandemic special...and that says a LOT! To sum it all up, most of the South Park moms are right up there with Gabriel Agreste (from Miraculous Ladybug), the Turners (from Fairly OddParents), the Blythes (from The Owl House), the Diamonds (from Steven Universe), and Shao Tucker (from Fullmetal Alchemist) when it comes to bad parents and horrible families in general.

I was about to comment about the fma one that none of the parents would go that far… and then I remembered this is south park and they totally would for varying circumstances. And ironically, I feel like this would actually make a good metric for measuring shity parenting, “would this south park parent fuse their dog and their child for their job/fame?” And while most of the moms are no (Sharon, Sheila, Twerp’s mom probably, Kenny’s mom) there are definitely moms who would for x terrible reason (Linda, Cartman’s mom under the right circumstances which are probably Cartman wanting to become a dog man for super powers or whatever other dumb reason); while basically all of the dads totally would just to fit in.

Most of the moms would say no, but Linda would just let Stephen sell Butters to Dr. Mephesto to fuse with whatever animal he was experimenting on to "benefit the family." Liane I could see allowing Cartman to fuse himself with Mr. Kitty because he thinks it will give him superpowers (like you said). The other boys would think it's cool, but their moms would say no. And yes, all the dads would attempt it...except Randy who would fuse himself with Sparky. Cue faceoff between CartKitty and RandOg. :p

I think the Conjoined Fetus Lady episode is extremely important in modern society as well It shows that the coping mechanism for the irregular phenomenon in society is not only harmful in children making fun of the disabled, but also the adults "helping them", this of course came out many times in South Park, most recently in the case of the "Token really is Tolkien" episode Or The Intouchables movie, where the paralized person prefers a caretaker, who often forgets his disabilities because he treats hime more like an actual person than others around him The truth is, everyone wishes to be treated as normal people and movements attracting too much attention can be harmful too, as the saying goes: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions"

I think shela is 100% a good mom. She tries to teach her son good morals and keep everything appropriate for him and tries her best to raise a good child You can notice Kyle trying really hard to always stay positive and things like that and you can kind of blame that on shela since she raised him Kyle shows to be a good kid and Shela tries hard to be a good mom and both of those coincide to shela being a good mom. Kyles mom isn't that bad. She has her flaws but she at least wants what she thinks is best for her kids and tries to make sure they grow to be good people. i do believe that Sheila is not neccesarely a bad mother but a very conservative one in the aspect of parenting, asides from that she does love her family to the extent of letting her Jerseysona free in order to save them. Butters mom by far is worse then Sheila. Yes Sheila can be very annoying but she’s honestly just a VERY exaggerated version of everyone’s mom. She stands up for her children and has strong morals. Yes she has flaws but you can see that she loves her sons even Ike. Butters mom on the other hand literally tried to kill her son after finding out Stephen/ Chris was closeted and let’s him do whatever he wants to Butters. Is Sheila perfect? I also like the subtle implication that Eric gets most of his evil from his father and that all lianne's parenting did was just amplify it. Scott is shown to be capable of being just as psychotic and manipulative as Eric in general, and in 201 is shown to know how to utilize it in an exact fashion as Eric when he becomes the ginger kids cult leader.

Definitely Linda Stotch. She and her hudband clearly don't care about Butters, and nearly got him killed on a few occasions. Liane is a mixed bag. She coddled Cartman too much, and has a very promiscuous history, but she has started to put her foot down when it comes to her son's crap. Sheila is very annoying and was the main villain of the movie in my opinion, but she got better over time and clearly loves her kids. Sharon is probably the best of the bunch, since she loves her kids, hasn't started a war or anything, etc.

Sheela is often seen as the worst mother mostly because she takes things to the extreme. (an example of Moral Panics) However I do believe that Kenny has a mother who doesn't even care about him at all until he dies then she cries over him while not caring about him while being alive. Cartman's mother loves her son, however she fails to discipline his behavior. Stan's mother is all over the place from behaving like Sheela but a lesser version of her to being a wife who doesn't know how crazy her husband is.

I do also think that Carol tends to be overlooked in the bad mom department. Not only is she incredibly neglectful, and frequently physically abuses her spouse, but she also attended the cult meetings that led to her youngest son getting cursed with immortality. Meaning that Kenny's 100+ deaths can partially be attributed to Carol just wanting the free beer provided at the meetings.
