Very interesting and informative video. I gather you are based in Australia and in some countries on KZbin a channel operator could simply flash a graphic on the screen, when the subject is pertinent, and disclose any investments in editorial subject matter, which would save you from having to go over that information verbally in any obligatory manner and saving a little production run time. Just a thought, and maybe that is a wash anyway, but you do handle the disclosure statements well as I've noticed in previous videos.

The biggest risk is for a brand to have a major safety scare/accident/bad press which will forever damage it. That is one of the biggest factors to build in when considering which brand in this sector to invest in

Here's an interesting tit bit, battery company BYD bought an old govt owned car maker for cents on the dollar with the specific intention of producing EVs for much the same reasons Elon wanted to make them. I've long seen Wang as the quiet Chinese version of Elon. Both are mission driven and both are extraordinary.

Good question Jim, oddly enough BYDDY (an ADR) and BYDDF are the exact same company, but they are the EXACT same company. Personally I have BYDDY and probably most retail investors would have the Y shares, they’re easier to trade. There are several great KZbin videos that explain this.

Where is the electricity generation going to come from if we voluntary or are forced into EV. That infrastructure should be built now but it seems the renewables are the primary concern which cannot satisfy DEMAND (everyone wanting to charge their EVs at night). It's called the cart before the horse and is going to be a huge problem especially with AI also wanting to gobble up electricity. I don't even mention the thieves stealing cable from the charging stations.

I don't see the need to posit that the EPA numbers are wrong to support a conclusion that 2022 Model Y AWD has a full battery pack that is limited by software. What was puzzling was the nearly identical EPA Fuel Economy for the Fremont 2170 LR and the new 2022 Model Y AWD. A significantly lighter car (if it actually had fewer batteries) should have had greater Fuel Economy.

They are/will. Governments are building the large infrastructure and will privatise. They are also making laws to reduce fossil fuel emissions. Energy companies will install power ports at people's homes. The issue is not whether or not to invest in this market, it's who to invest in - BYD looks a good bet.

Just for balance, Warren Buffet, that much trumpeted, visionary investor in BYD, also owns Lubrizol, which he bought outright in 2011. Who are Lubrizol? They're only the world's biggest supplier of additives for lubricants & their biggest market by far is additives for automotive crankcase oils AS USED BY ALL ICEs! If WB is convinced that EVs will dominate the market in the next decade, he'd be trying to offload Lz whilst it's still worth something... but he ain't!!
