I have ADHD and I cannot tell you what going down to 1 meal a day has done for my focus at work. It was such a difference in my workday that everyone at my job was literally like what the hell is going on because I was working that much faster. Intermittent fasting is absolutely game changing for a variety of reasons, not just weight loss. The fact that it aligns with the circadian rhythms of the body just tells you that the human body was not designed to constantly digest several meals a deal including unnecessary snacking in between meals. Obviously, if you're trying to gain weight or bulk, then its probably not ideal to fast but even then I think you can still fast every now and then when you're bulking and it shouldnt affect your gains or lean muscle mass. I'm such a big advocate and proponent for IF/time-restricted eating.

I've been doing this one meal a day diet for a while. I am always 120% focused and energetic, except for maybe an hour and a half after I have my meal. I have no cravings whatsoever, which I used to have, especially for sweets and snacks and what not. When I got into this, I wasn't sure I'd be able to do it consistently for a long time, but I was wrong. I like to experiment with new things. I think experimenting regularly, much like exercising, adds an extra flavour to life, no pun intended. Now, the most difficult aspect of this diet is the lift off period. Just when you're getting into it you'll keep bumping into walls. It is the first couple of weeks/months, depending on your life style so far that is the most difficult mainly because if you consume one meal a day, you have to make sure it's a meal that is packed with nutrients and high in volume. Therefore, you can forget about stuffing yourself full with sweets and ice-cream and garbage from Maccy D's. You can eat these things but in ten times stricter moderation than you ever have. That means your brain in the lift off stage of this diet is going to start coming off of all sorts of addictive substances that junk foods contain. You're going to experience major "hunger strikes", and the reason why I put that in quotation marks is because it's not really hunger. It's withdrawal. Withdrawal in the form of cravings. Cravings for super salty, sugary and spicy foods. Compared to all those super salty, sugary and spicy ultra-processed and pre-packaged "foods" that are available at the supermarket, normal healthy foods may at first taste somewhat bland; not nearly as tasty, not nearly as delicious. Your brain is used to the garbage and now it demands it. So, you must exercise self-restraint, reach down deep and find the willpower within you to resist the cravings and fight off the withdrawals until your brain comes back down to its normal functioning level. That's the most difficult part, but I guess it's like that with most healthy diets. I don't recommend the one meal a day diet because it is very restrictive compared to the alternatives, and I know most people wouldn't be able to maintain it even if they were paid to do it. When it comes to a healthy diet, comfort is important. The person needs to feel comfortable with the diet. Otherwise, they'll keep getting distracted left and right by their hunger. This diet works for some people but will never work for most. Find a diet that fits your life style, tweak it in accordance to your personal needs and preferences, and you'll be fine.

I've been a type 1 diabetic for almost 20 years, and I used to have to eat six smaller meals a day to keep up with my metabolism and insulin coverage while I was a teen. Fitness advice is one of the most things that give you the frustration. You really do need to find what works for you. For some people like me that's no carbs as much as possible and some fasting. Some people like Andrew enjoy one meal a day and i am sure this is not every day. He drinks a shit ton of booze and enjoys the party lifestyle but also does a lot of sparring and fighting so that works for him. Calorie counting and more meals works for others. i get calories in versus calories burned but that's not always as easy as it sounds.

I did this for about a year and a half, dangerous tactic for muscle maintenance. If you only ingest protein once a day your body will not be able to synthesize it as well and this will, over time, lead to a higher fat percentage and a lower muscle percentage. Even at the same weight your body composition will get worse. A 16/8 fasting regime would be preferable if you are looking to maintain your muscle mass. For more info I recommend Peter Attia.

One problem with intermittent fasting that nobody ever really talks about is that it causes you to be basically constipated literally all the time. Like when I tried it, I would literally go for 5 days straight without shitting at all, and to be completely honest, I need to have a cup of coffee and some kind of carbs and sugar such as a bagel with butter along with a chocolate cream filled donut first thing in the morning in order to be able to wake up properly and function throughout the day. Not doing this makes me overly tired, grumpy, depressed, and at times even angry, so yeah, intermittent fasting is definitely not for everybody, sorry to say.

This was a GREAT video. Also I know it's a weird place to ask this, but where can we talk further? (I'm a marketer and did some work for Tate as I'm part of The War Room and have also had dinner with him and Tristan.)

Blood goes round your GI when you eat, therefore less to brain- (worsened tiredness by insulin secretion if carbs)- also ketone and GH boost during your “starve”

A crocodile often survives eating once per year. It waits in water for a full year for wildebeests to come and drink, and snatches one. The next opportunity will be a full year away, but they are fine with that.

I fast every monday for the whole day so i have a 36-40 h fast every week. And it's crazy how alert and energetic I am. It also grounds me and let's me appreciate good food much better for the rest of the week. And I cann eat more for the rest of the week and snacks, restaurants or invitations don't kill my diet because I can afford it when it's not escalating. I tried OmaD but that was too hard for me.

Since I eat vegan (non-refined, sugar-free and low fat), I have no problem with energy after eating my meals. And it is especially important for me to eat a big breakfast, otherwise I cannot concentrate.

It really is effective more than all the working out I’ve ever done. I always ask myself am I hungry right now or just want a taste of something.

I feel like privelaged people to whatever degree can choose to starve. You can be privelaged in one way and still starve but.. Starving people crave food. If you know it’s always going to be there, you don’t need to focus your attention on it. I personally need to eat well to function properly at work. If I’m hungry, I’m thinking about food and know 100% I will do it better with a content stomach( unless I’m actually hunting for food in desperation). Everybody’s situation is different but some people just have no choice.

I eat once a day and don't plan on changing that, but I will say that if the need to eat for some reason comes up then I'm not against doing so. It just hasn't happened. it really depends on what your doing I suppose. Manual labor can be taxing and you'll need the fuel, but I tend to view my body as a machine and sense the things it needs. I do cardio, strength training but I've stopped working out to get super big. Just not interested in that anymore. I figure if I can do a few sets of 30 pushups with 60 pounds in a backpack I'm good at 46 years old. Of course I try to translate that across all muscles overall, and it doesn't seem to need more than one meal a day for me. I usually workout anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour every morning then some yard work before actual work. I keep busy you know. Honestly the hunger feeling isn't even that for me anymore, not even unpleasant at all and yeah, the brain is always on and the body is never lazy so I'm good. Of course you always need to look at your machine so I think it's just about being in touch with your body and making changes as you need them.

how does one get enough calories to both bulk and build muscle eating one meal a day? Are people really able to fit 2,500-3,000 calories in one meal? And if you do get enough protein in that one meal are you able to absorb and use all that protein to go towards muscle protein synthesis?

The prob with that kind of diet is your body is in a catabolic state and will loose a lot of muscle tissue and bone density..

One meal per day is what you suppose to eat tbh look at all the undeveloped counties most people only eat one meal a day they don’t got all the diseases we do I eat 1 meal a day at night right before I sleep but I snack on fruits and vegetables all day and drink like a gallon of water
