I can see why people might find it creepy. Because the person Tom is speaking to (supposedly you lol) isn't responding at all for the most part. It also harks back to movies/shows from Hollywood where a kidnapper tries to be nice to the person kidnapped. In such situations, the kidnapped won't respond much to the gestures. It is also similar to how kidnappers give words of caution before leaving the house. LOL Side note: The translation got quite inaccurate at some point. I hope it doesn't offend Caucasians lol

Congratulations I know it’s different from person to person but I prefer Chinese guys because they usually have the traits I’m looking for: more responsible, willing to take care of their family, smarter & more hardworking, know the boundaries between men & women, aka not “social butterflies”, less selfish, less arrogant, most Chinese men don’t do drugs (yes, I consider weed as drug), and last but not least, Chinese men are more respectful to women (I used to think westerners are more respectful to women but that was an untrue stereotype, even though most people still believe it. Western guys talk the talk but their actions don’t match their words). I can go on and on from my personal experience and from the experience of those around me, but bottom line: I used to see western guys under a beautifying filter, but I know better now, that’s why I only date Chinese men.

English men don't act like that normally, ever. They might make breakfast for you sure, but that kind of eye contact whilst doling out breakfast for a loved one, also would signify 'i spat in your food' or there's poison in there or something. If someone stares at you like that with such nervous, but trying so hard to have normal, body language whilst serving you food, be weary.

Besides In Asia the way to get to the customer is by having a kind of connection through their fellings. Basically they can create the most romantic or saddest story to sell you a product. So they did an excellent job there, involving their expectations of waking up in a wonderful morning and then, seeing this gentleman making your breakfast. As if he were your husband... There are pros and cons to both cultures. I thought the bit about men who’d just continue a marriage out of responsibility and to avoid judgments of society is not healthy. It is also not healthy to marry someone without really knowing yourself and your partner-if you aren’t compatible things likely will not go well in the end, so spouse selection should be a lot more careful. And marriages really ought to be of really great friends who happen to also be lovers. This is a middle ground between the two cultural paradigms: do put your spouse first, but be very selective and self-aware and observant whilst choosing a partner and _honest_ and _open_ about those things, otherwise you may run into something toxic. Putting two people together that aren’t good for each other is never a good thing and sticking it out for kids is not a setting a good example for said kids of how to select a partner or be in a loving relationship.

It's creepy because it gives of a feeling that he doesn't live with her. At the beginning he said he came back from somewhere. Okay so far. But than at the end he said they won't see each other for a week. If she was his wife, or a girlfriend that he lives with, saying something like that as he heads out sounds unnatural for a couple. Wouldn't her mention that earlier in a conversation. He sounds like a stalker that comes and goes as he pleases and there is nothing she can do. She should just be ready for him.

No one cares about educating themselves and gaining insight, learning nuance and critical thinking. They've all fallen out of favour for shallow group think and collectivist thought. I need to say something that might surprise most people: i‘m an Asian woman living in Europe. My boyfriend is a Muslim from Syria. When i am sick, he treats me like Tom Hiddleston in the video. He can’t cook, but he goes out and buys food for me and he does the household for me (he does the dishes, cleans my flat). And he hugs me a lot. My Asian parents didn’t hug me a lot as a child, i think Asians are very reserved. People from the Middle East tend to be very touchy and passionate. It feels good for me to be showered with such physical warmth and closeness. No special occasion for a hug, i just get hugs for nothing. He‘s a good and respectful man.
