John refers to himself as the "beloved disciple" because his Gospel is not his story, it is our story. We are all the beloved disciple. He very intentionally wrote himself as a self-insert character. Mary being given to the beloved disciple as Mother is not an arbitrary detail to show how righteous Jesus is. We already know he is perfectly righteous, making that point from the cross would be unnecessary. These are the words of the dying savior in his last moments, each of them would be absolutely precious. If Jesus was just housekeeping, he could've told John to take care of Mary long before this moment. Jesus from the cross is talking directly to us.
@c2s2942 Жыл бұрын

The bible, as power and as true and holy as it is, isn’t all our christian faith is about. If you listen to churches that do not trace their lineage from the apostles, then you are lost and your interpretation of the holy scriptures is lamentable. If you are indeed in search of the true Christ, only two christian churches can make that claim: the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church. But if you want to be in fullness with the Christian faith, then it is only through the Roman Catholic Church where you can find it, the one headed by the only successor of Peter. Listening to churches other than the two that I mentioned is no different from listening to your barber or cab driver: they have an understanding but the education is pedestrian, at its best.

So when James became a believer he should have gotten his mother back. Why did Mary stay with John till she died. When Jesus died she was only 15 + 33 =48 not an old woman as you describe. Also you as a child of your mother no matter what your belief is would you just let anyone take care and be responsible for your mother? And Jesus as God who is good will not even be ccnsiderate what his family would feel. He is God of Love. He is perfect and I dont think he will disregard the feeling of being abandoned by his children let alone his family. If Jesus, doesn't care about the feeling of his mother then you better think of the kind of God you are preaching.

Jesus did not have any blood brothers. "Brethren" is often loosely extended to all near, or even distant, relatives (Genesis 13:8, 14:14-16; Leviticus 10:4; 1 Chronicles 15:5-10, 23:21-22) The decisive proof is that the father and mother of at least two of these "brethren" are known to us. James and Joseph, or Joses, are, as we have seen, the sons of Alpheus, or Clopas, and of Mary, the sister of Mary the Mother of Jesus, and all agree that if these are not brothers of the Saviour, the others are not.

Jesus had half brothers and sisters, by Mary and Joseph . 4 brothers and 3 sisters. The oldest , one year younger than Jesus, was born in Egypt a😊nd went on to become an apostle and even wrote part of the Bible. Next was Daniel and David a year apart, then Elizabeth, named after Mary's cousin . Then Jacob, then Ruth and finally Mary Martha. Joseph of Arithema was Mary's uncle and he gave his grave to Jesus. After the incident when Jesus stayed at the temple they sent Jesus to school, lived with, the Essenes for two years, to keep him safe from Herod. Then He went with His Uncle Joseph, who was a trader, for two years where they traveled extensively. Even to Turkey and Egypt and other countries. This changes nothing about Mary's purity and virginal was probably a way to describe how full of Grace she was and always will be. Stop equating sex with denegration of a woman. Shame on you who think that. It's insulting to women and insulting to Jesus and His mother. Just say ever pure , not ever virgin. Also Jesus always emphasized that we all love each other as family. Mary lived with her son James after that.

If they were devout Jews, they would not have forsaken their mother. Additionally, the alleged sibling frequently mocked Jesus, suggesting they were significantly older than him. In that society, the elder sibling was held in great esteem and respected. Frankly, the notion that they neglected their mother due to their lack of faith in Jesus is extremely weak.

I will praise you with songs of joy. 6 I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night. 7 Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. 8 I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely. 9 But those plotting to destroy me will come to ruin. @@robmarshall956 I want to be careful and I am not catholic to make it clear. Here they are saying is he not the carpenter's son and his mother mary and continue to mention his brothers. But how are they his brothers, through Joseph or through mary? Since they are also saying his Father was Joseph you need to be fair either all is true or none is true. If Joseph is Seen as his Father then the likes of James could also be his brothers through Joseph the common Father. You will not find anywhere Mary being mentioned as Mother of anybody else other than of Jesus. And Jesus is taking the Blood line of David just like his siblings through Joseph even though he is not connected to him at all but is seen as if he was his earthy Father. So you can not deny that Josoph's children will be Jesus's brothers. It is either take it or leave it. This is the best and resonable explanation
