📢 Recipe (Ingredients)
300g (2 cups) Bread flour/Wheat flour
1 Egg
38g (3 tbsp) Sugar
150ml (0.62 cup) Milk
3g (1 tsp) Instant yeast
3g (1/2 tsp) Salt
28g (2 tbsp) Unsalted butter
Butter
Egg wash
* Mold size : 8.9"x4.4"x2.2"/22.8x11.3x5.8cm
* 170°C (340°F) bake for 22 minutes
📢 Important tips
1. If you don't want egg, you can substitute with 35-40ml of milk.
2. The dough does not need to be fermented, just let it rest for about 20 minutes and then roll it into a large sheet.
3. You can use either salted or unsalted butter to spread the dough sheet.

how cold does the butter have to be to work? Is it like puff pastry where it has to be cold? It doesn't look cold in the vid.

You have let rise more. I make bread for 20 years. I let rise mire 2 h not 20 min this is big mistake Is way is so small yours. Let rise boll for h don’t worry they have come 3x puf. Same thing on pan let rise until come on top pan. If y let rise for h you have another result

Let your ingredients, milk, egg, yeast butter sit out at room temperature before adding the yeast then mix it all together. Leave to rise for a couple of hours in warm area then do all preparing and let sit for another hour covered up after that. It helps to activate the yeast when you do so which is quite necessary for a nice rise.

It also depends on the altitud where you live at. Altitude tend to make the bread take longer to rise and some foods to cook.

I did this with garlic butter, it was absolutely amazing! In a way, this is very similar to Chinese scallion pancakes - except baked and not pan fried.

Awesome 👌 I doubled the yeast made an herb garlic butter to use as the filling- used one large 9 x5 loaf pan otherwise you'll have 2 small loaves. Can't wait to try cinnamon sugar raisin filling next time. Its a light fluffy bread very good TY

Oh my God I made these loaves today and they turned out absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Both in looks AND taste 😍😍👌🏾 I made one half plain and one with chocolate chips. The stage after the first 20-min prove where you have to add butter and then fold over a couple of times and knead - my dough went a bit wrong here and the butter was splitting the dough making the dough a bit wet and buttery. I fixed that by adding a bit of flour. Everything else went smoothly 😍 I did have to extend the final prove to 2 hours as they just weren't getting bigger - I resorted to putting them next to the windowsill (on a sunny day) and that did the trick. They honestly turned so, so beautiful - I will 100% be making this again!! And experimenting with different fillings 😍😍🤤

A good way to get dough to rise is put it in the hot water cylinder cupboard. Warmest place in the house all year round :)

Do this with herb butter in the butter mixture. Italian seasoning, garlic, a little salt. Oh man, this looks amazing. You could even sprinkle cheese on there. Before you roll it.

I added caramelized onions, goat cheese and sun-dried tomatoes to the Centre then rolled it. It was awesome. This recipe is great you can do many different variations. Even cinnamon rolls brown sugar and walnuts are amazing.

I tried it and althoughI messed up on the buttering it still worked and my family were so impressed. I didn’t like to tell them it was simple easy to follow instructions and the bread took care of itself. So pleased I found this recipe.❤

This is like chealsea buns where sugar and raisins are added, then the roll is sliced and the buns baked individually. This s a lovely ‘sharing’ bread version

Agree with the comments about it being small. Will let it rise longer and maybe put a bit more yeast in as well. Tastes amazing, though! I did sprinkle a bit of salt over the second spread of butter and just a tiny bit on top before baking. Perfect flavor!

Made this and put jujube paste in the layers. Turned out wonderful! You could also put lotus seed paste or red bean paste. Thank you for the recipe!

If I have time to make this tomorrow, I'm going to try. I think it'd be yummy to split it in half first and add cinnamon and sugar (and maybe some walnuts or raisins?) to one loaf before rolling.

I'm going to do it your way at least once, but then I'm going to add a thick past of cinnamon and brown sugar; this looks like it'd make a fantastic cinnamon roll!

I made this bread with some milk and a little diluted heavy whipping cream and the bread came out fantastic, everyone loved it, especially me, btw I had some flours I didn’t label so I used one of the flours without knowing what kind of flour it was and it came out perfect. Thank you for the perfect recipe.

@@barbaramack2897 you can use any flour, I personally had placed my flours in containers and I didn’t label them, so I searched for a recipe, which any flour can be used, I used one of the flours I had not labeled, I don’t know which flour it was, I used this recipe and it came out so good, I will be making this bread again, everyone loved it. I guess I’ll make a batch with each flour to pin point which flour was the one I actually used 🤭

So interesting - a puff pastry sort of with yeast. It was total magic to watch. I would love to try variations in the roll up part - cinnamon, jam, almond paste etc. Lovely!
