Half of penus size are actually pretty average for flacid penus. I guess it majority of people who are confused are women who didn't had long time partner aka seen it absolutly all all stages. Flasid penuses are actually comparable to balls size (and could be visually be even smaller if it is really cold - body protects itself). There are also grower vs shower distinction. Some penuses have may less difference betwen flacid and erect state. I always assumed it was more for men from warm climate, but could be wrong. "Grower" enlarges at least several times while "shower" is maximum doubles if not less. Obvious for people who has Penus, but probably not so for who does not.

One detail that is often forgotten, is that during the Renaissance, MANY paintings, murals and statues were HIGHLY ALTERED by the Church...with genitalia either 're-painted' as smaller, or completely covered up (with items such as fig leaves, etc.), or as with statues, either 'removed' (via chisel) or 'down-sized' (again, via chisel), with overt sexuality being considered 'unsuitable for public display'. The Church, at the time, did not understand the ancient Greek thinking that a phallus, uncircumcised and limp, was a normal condition which may appear in public or in gladiatorial combat. Only the erect glans (with foreskin back) was a depicted representation of 'indecency in flagrant nudity'. In reality, quite a bit of Greek text dating from the era refutes the 'small phallus' idea...instead describing genitalia as large, or larger, than men of today might have.

I would observe, as a cis- male, none of those artistic rendering were of an erect, functional penis. And I would hope most people know that what you’re showing, ain’t necessarily what you’re growing.
