The point made in thsi video is often ehst i see that is "missing" in the understanding of the soviet style, and boxing in general. Whats hardest to make the casual "observer"/ new student understand is that boxing/combat is all SITUATIONAL and not one thing will work all the time. People get caught up in the idea of "styles" that they miss the forest for the trees. A fight is fluid, and if the fight moves then so must we. Be Like Water My Friend.... ☯️

You must different rhythms and “looks”, the elite boxer knows to always show a “different” fighter to the same opponent, otherwise an elite boxer will time and get patterns down

One thing I've never been able to understand is Lemeshevs pendulum step when hes in range. He doesn't bounce much but hes obviously still doing tiny pendulum steps. Im totally unable to make such small pendulum steps. Any advice? practice? lol

Try to think of it as less of a jump and more like you’re picking up your feet and catching yourself while falling if that makes sense. Pick up your foot, your body drops a bit, and slightly reposition your feet in that split second
@udbhavsharma18824 ай бұрын
@@pantasticlaire3966 It's like you're about to sprint and stop yourself in just a split second.

try to move with your ankles and not with the bending of the knees, this kind of movement helps to stay in pendulum without getting your legs tired since you dont use muscles of whole leg. you only use the muscles for ur ancles.

Just move your hips in rhythm & your feet will follow along the dance
@pandaBoxz4 ай бұрын
The bounce comes from your fascia, and you conserve energy of bouncing by having stiff ankles which acts as a tough rubber when used in combination. Basically makes your footwork like a hair trigger to react to anything quickly

Privyet Coach Frolov, I try to use your style and i train it in my gym all the time but when i do some sparring my coach keeps telling me to stop "running away" and tells me to block more. I believe that it is smart to avoid punches as much as posible, what should i do? I don't think he will understand if i try to explain him, he'll just call me a coward
@box_11264 ай бұрын
That aint a cowards move and your correct about avoiding opponents punches. But imo, mix those up. Mix from avoiding punches and getting close. Might not align with your style

Finer margins are needed. Your coach could mean that you're evading and moving - but too far away. Tighten up your margins of evading and you'll see, almost still be touch tight to your opponent. Massive gaps and opportunities will open for you in counter attacking. Footwork training is essential for this! And bravery in the beginning. It gets easier. But lots of time and dedication is needed. It's an absolute art in itself.

Size doesn’t matter it’s conditioning. You need to able to do it as long as possible with it causing you lose energy. Jump rope. And calf raises.

@@dariuszmarcinkowski7191but you can break rhythm like, you swing forward, so your opponent expects you to swing backwards, and instead you swing forward again with a power jab or a leaping left hook. Like everything in boxing, you have to mix it up to keep your opponents guessing. Even clear telegraphs can work for you if you use jerky feints (look at Tyson Fury)
