Hey I’ve been binge watching your videos on the focus all week, thank you for all this knowledge. I feel empowered to work on my own focus. I have a 2012 that just crossed 200k on stock transmission and I’ll be installing a clutch, forks, actuators and possibly a TCM thanks to you.

Thanks Ben. I have a used K04 I got off E bay in my 2012 focus now. But I have a new K00 from the dealer I have been worried about programing it. Guess I'll hope it"s new, and not new old stock. Parts guy said it was ordered new, got to take a chance. Thanks for all the information you share.

Hi Ben First off thank you for all your videos, the amount of information has been amazing. My question is when you say that when installing a used K05 TCM you need to program from Ford or Forscan….do you mean to run the adaptive learn service procedure?
@BigBensCarsAndCycles2 ай бұрын
@4runfatty946 hi, glad the videos helped! The k05 comes with a calibration installed for a 17 and 18 model focus and should have the correct calibration loaded for your focus. It's different than an adaptive learn

Interesting maintenance idea? May have mentioned before. Forget atm. Anyway, air fittings to blast out clutch dust buildup, just using high pressure compressed air alone? Maybe install something like a few simple schrader valves in the case, pointed at key locations inside the transmission case, where you know buildup can eventually cause sticking forks, or any other build-up related issue. Take the valves out of all that are not hooked up to the big shop air compressor, so the clutch dust can escape. Use a vacuum to capture, and collect the clutch dust, as you blast it out. Another idea, could be an industrial isopropyl alcohol flush system, also with valves. Could do a cleaning while the car drives on a rolling road, or dyno, and shifts up and down through the gears several times, with the air system. 🤷♂️😉

2015 focus new clutch new TCM all the relearns all of the Reflash and all the grounds cleaned new battery. Everything done correctly still getting the overheating warning light what can I do about this?
@BigBensCarsAndCycles2 ай бұрын
Check for and diagnose any transmission fault codes related to clutch application. Check my video "clutch stuck applied codes - fool proof diagnostic method" to see if the clutch is not fully releasing and swap actuators A and B to see if any issue changes to the opposite clutch

Hi Ben I really need your help. I have a 2018 focus and it had its clutch forks sticking so I replaced both clutch forks and the slave cylinder with OEM parts from ford and also did adaptive learn. It drove for just a block and now I am getting P07A5 code and no reverse. I tried three actuator motors with no luck and clutch forks be is smooth when turning it counter clockwise and also releasing smooth. What could it be?
@BigBensCarsAndCycles3 ай бұрын
@zaza6151 were the motors you tried oem? If so, do you have forscan? You can monitor Iss A and B, if either are showing rpm at idle in part, unbolt and slide off the clutch actuator and see if it drops to zero. That'll confirm actuator failure. If it stays showing rpm then it's something with the clutch or components
