Gotta go where the money is. Wash and detail can only take you so far before you get burned out. Upgrading to a shop is a great idea. You gotta get into paint correction and ceramic coatings is a must if you want to make the big bucks. The business needs to grow and be profitable. Good luck bro

Quincy man! Super stoked seeing your progression. About 4-5 years ago Quincy stopped by my staffing Branch and was going door to door asking who wanted their vehicles detailed. 2 of my employees said yes!but I was skeptical and said no. Not because of Quincy but just because the price was too cheap. It was $25 for inside and out. At the time I wasn't detailing anymore but I kinda had an idea of what to typically expect for $25 and felt like it was too much risk (thinking damage to paint and or interior) . I walked out on break and saw Quincy in his van and noticef the products and equipment. Saw some 3D products, menzerna and good overall equipment(goes to show that this stuff does matter to some) I saw him doing his thing and I realized he was a detailer and not a general quik wash guy. Gave Quincy the keys to my car and told him just basic and apologized as my vehicle was pretty dirty at the time. I noticed it was maybe 1 or 2 hours in and I was getting concerned. Walked out and saw Quincy was going to town on my cars interior. Quincy did a easily $150 job for $25.Unfortunately at the time I didn't have extra cash on me so I think I gave him all I had in my pocket which was maybe $32-36 which was robbery . I started talking to him and turns out Quincy really liked my vehicle and was saving up for one himself. In essence he appreciated my vehicle and felt it needed some love as he was a fan of the vehicle himself. Quincy truly enjoys what he does and works hard so I'm super stoked to see his progression and his garage shop now. I was only ever able to repay Quincy by sending people his way but man super happy for him and right away messaged him the video lol. Keep it up man you've come a long long way 🤘

Mobile detailing is hard to do and always on the road but shop can bring more if you can offer paint corrections, wrap, ppf and window tint. I work at a shop with me cousin and we don’t do much mobile detailing, we do more corrections ceramic coatings and our shop does wrap also and soon offering ppf. So he does have the right idea.

A shop is ideal for sure! One thing I can't do though is build my business out of my home! Tbh it just makes it look messy! On top of that, I value my family and our privacy. Not knocking on anyone or anything but just speaking from my experiences! I am currently mobile and in search of a permanent spot with mobile plans to continue!

Id also do the blowouts of the interior n mats first, solely because i don't like getting dust on my freshly cleaned vehicle. N then if u need to really wash the mats u can do that while u still have the stuff out n ready n it can sit in the sun n dry while ur doing the rest.

I think he should keep the van going until he gets the shop up and running with constant work. The shop at home is very difficult to do, many people judge the place. I started my upholstery business out of my apartment garage. Many people where hesitant. As soon as I got a decent shop, business went up. Also since you work from home people want a really cheap price since they think you have zero overhead. The van will be guaranteed cash while you build up the shop cash flow. Just a opinion, you may already have steady business.

I gotta start with congrats. Nice setup. I gotta mention, im sure that's nit all the pads u have, buuuut the more the better. The less u use a fresh pad on a vehicle the better. They will also last longer the less u heat em up, so its a win win. The only issue is there is more to clean but that once u get a good system down is no biggie. Id even hire one of ur kids or friends kids to clean up the shop n wash the pads and cleab the towels (throw em in the wash) for ya. If u use a new/clean pad per panel or 2 panel max, you'll notice a major diff in ur final product. Esp the goam pads. In my experience its not as necessary on the wool or microfiber pads solely because they work when they are drenched in product. The microfiber pads tho, i love the euro pads buff n shine try em out man (makes an excellent way of one stepping with that 3d hybrid compound n polish amazing results) point is, get more pads if thats all u have for sure

Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use kzbin.infoUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall.The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.
