I totally agree with you on the LS400/Celsior. Unfortunately current generation LS refined and contemporary they may be, IMHO have strayed from the very purpose LS400 was created... Current generation LS is not as robust and definitely cost as much if not more than its direct competitors in the luxury class. Subject to parts availability, I humbly believe LS400 will remain timeless 🏆

How do you find the other cars you mentioned compare to the LS400? The Bentley, LS600 etc

I’ve driven or owned most of them and it would take me AGES to reply fully. Suffice to say I have the utmost of respect that the LS400 can even compare to cars that have been honed and evolved by manufacturers who have been doing this for decades. An LS400 doesn’t need to feel inferior to these cars at all!

It’s pretty disingenuous at this point to refer to a 200k mile LS400 as “High mileage”. That’s just about the time they need a second starter motor. Get back to me when yours clicks over half a million.

It’s an interesting one. I think some of that is about where you are based and what your country is used to. In the States cars regularly done intergalactic miles, but on this tiny land 200K is considered high mileage. It might not be high for an LS400 but it’s high for a ‘normal’ car. Anyway, it is what it is but i think the vast, vast majority of people would consider a UK car with 200K on it to be ‘high mileage’. Cheers

@@collectingmodernclassiccar9771 Ah, yea, I’ve visited your island. Lovely place, BTW. The level of rust was alarming to a car loving Texan like me. We’re at the opposite ends of both spectrums on that; long straight roads and dry summer days are the norm here. I was just pulling your chain, anyway. Cheers from Texas. 🍻
