You actually had me in full-on sobbing after the ad of the old man lifting the kettle bell. I used to be in excellent shape until about 45. I'm 56 now and even though I lost weight since taking my dog for a walk every single day, I know that I should be in much better shape. By telling me your story (and not preaching) you motivated me to want to start bringing my A-game to the table again. I used to tell people life is about experience and I used to experience what it feels like to turn heads walking down the street because of my physique. And that my life is richer for also knowing what it feels like having to suck in my stomach and get totally winded from something as mundane as tying my shoe laces or clipping my toenails. But all of that is just rationalizing the fact that I quit caring altogether. And it's time for that to change. I don't want to be 35 again, but I want to feel a bounce in my soon to be fifty-seven-year-old step again, and for that I have only you to thank. Watching this just now was literally serendipitous and I'm hoping to post a much more accountability-infused update on your channel three months from today.

I'm 38, I know what you mean about being able to pick up your kid. That motivates me to work out, but also seeing my dad get sick in his old age left an impact on me as as child. I don't want to get as crippled as he was from just letting himself go. Smoking, donuts, and no exercise = heart failure and cancer.

This video had me losing it when you presented the commercial with the grandfather in conjunction with you sharing your story. I'm 40, I'm not a father but if I ever become one, I must be in shape. I think that doing it for ourselves first is right too, and I'm really at a low point in my life today. Getting in shape should help crawl out of that dark period and go towards the light. Thank you for your video 🙏🏻

51M here with 6 pack and cut. I am a late Father. My Son is 5, and I knew that I had to keep as fit/healthy as much as I can for him. I totally feel you on this video. For those of you in your late 40's and 50's, it's not too late. Running, Pushups everyday, weight lifting, half crunches and healthy eating. If you need motivation: David Goggin's, Can't Hurt Me audiobook. Man, it's so good. Really great video Dorian!!!!!!

Yeah, do it! 23 was when I got into my current relationship (I just turned 35) and that's when I let myself go, we both like to eat and travel, so that makes sense. But also, we both use the computer a lot (I work on a development environment as Devops). I can still get in shape and have been thinking of going to the gym recently (I don't have space at home for a home gym, just a couple of weights), but still wish I had done it at 23 instead of now, that's when I was the thinnest and wanted to get strong (had been an obese teenager) but life side-tracked me.

Your videos are so freaking relatable to me. I have a baby girl and nearly every guy in my circle with kids has let themselves go physically, I thought the same would happen to me… but its been the opposite. I’ve been working out way more consistently than ever, and I’m in the best shape ever. Having a kid has only motivated me to get in better shape because I wanna be a role model. And just in practical terms, it’s gonna make carrying her around without inuring myself easier, I don’t need any more motivation than that.

My story is similar and I've lost 20kg over the past 2 years, now I'm trying to get rid of the final 5kg and getting in proper shape. I went from running 10 minutes to 15km. My main motivator is longevity. Keep up the good work!

Your videos are always so on point, I found your channel last year when a saw the video where you talk about getting life together at 30s, as I was reaching that mark and be really lost in life, not knowing where to go and seeing people around doing great with their lives, since that video I realized I needed to stop finding excuses and do the changes to get things together, an old goal of mine was to be become a software developer, wich I had given up because I thought I wasn't good enough, since then I pickup up from where I had stopped and started to study hard and focus on achieving that, and I did! Since the beggining of this year I'm working as a software developer, but I know realize that I also let go of my physical health, hearing your motives and that genius ad of the older man lifting the kettle bell really hit me. I recently started seeing some physical signs that I need to eat better and start working out again, last year after one of your videos I found the energy to get my professional life together, now seeing this video, it's time to do the same with my health! Thanks, Dorian!

I realized I was just eating way too much, even considering I was eating one meal a day for the last 3 years, my portion size was too much and that was the reason I was gaining weight plus I didn't move much. So I started cutting my portions in half and doing at least a 10-minute workout everyday, in a month I lost 6KGs. Just walking for 20-30 minutes also works great, you don't have to do crazy workouts everyday.

Yeah, this happened to me. I lived in a city so I walked everyday to public transportation or something else, everything was close by. I then moved to a more car-centric area (not quite by choice) and as soon as I started to walk less, boom! A lot of weight gained. Just walking helps a lot.

Not much in the way of hobbies is the answer to most people, or simpler hobbies. I love video games, I just don't play a lot of hours a day or every single day. But many people that have children, complicated jobs and the like, tend to quit them altogether.

Getting in shape to be a role model for your kids has nothing to do with vanity. Sure it feels good, but it's the kids that count. Man I can't even remember what is was to be 39. I'm a few years away of retirement and looking back on my life..... I'm just trying to make the best of the years still to come. So I have to go by the quote of Steve Jobs: Stay Hungry .... Stay Foolish

Dude, you don't have to give up all the fun stuff to be the best version of yourself.. You can have a cup of coffee or beer with friends sometimes, it's OK. Just know that it's an exception to the rule and not the rule itself. Somebody calls it "cheat hour, cheat day, cheat weekend or week", we are not robots, and we want that option to sometimes open the door and go wild.. Though I'm not talking about stuff that can destoy mentality or phisically, that should never even be considered as an "exception", everything else is fair game.
