Why I Passed On The Arrival of My Brand New Porsche 992 GTS & 993 RWB Build Update!

The Porsche 992 GTS that I was allocated and ordered has finally arrived and I chose to not take it. You read that correctly haha. In this video I talk about my reasons behind letting it go. I also dive into more 991 GT3RS stuff and give you guys a huge update on the 993 RWB build!

I have owned 17 Porsches. I currently have a 992 Turbo S. It is amazing car. You definitely made the better choice going with the orange GT3 RS. I was in a head-on collision with a Super Duty 3500 Silverado in my 2016 911 GTS. I took me 3 years to recover and many surgeries. The leg airbags saved me from losing my legs. Earlier in the day I was driving my Corvette Z06. Had I been hit in that car I would most definitely would’ve be here. Thank you Lord. Porsches are very survivable compared to Chevys. :) My next 911 will be the hybrid Turbo model. Good video! Thanks for sharing.

Ordered a Base 911 because there was no allocation for GTS, on the day of delivery there was GTS with the same spec as my base sitting on the dealer floor. Dropped the base and got the GTS, super happy now, if that din happen i would've been happy with the base. They are all great cars, can't go wrong with either choice.

Exactly! There really isn’t a wrong answer when it comes to a 911. All of them are phenomenal cars with different feels. No matter the trim, age, etc, each one you hop into has its own unique driving experience.

It was the right move to keep the RS. Just wait till they get a 992 GT3 trade in when someone picks up their 992 3RS. They’ll be more than happy to have your .1 RS.

I think it was the right move too. I preferably want a new 992 GT3 that I can build/option myself. Especially with the .2 releasing soon I'm excited to see how the updated changes will look.

Joe there is nothing like a well spec'd porsche and although that GTS is nice that GT3 RS is insane looking, In cali where I live it's not unusual to see 3 RS' but in orange, congrats and hopefully you will get that 992 GT3. Keep the content coming Bruh you motivate me to go ahead and go broke on a used 991.2 turbo (And I do mean broke) !!

You made the right call although I really like your initial build. I have a GT4 coming in black with yellow PCCB and yellow deviated stitching 😊 My ultimate goal would be to get the GT3 eventually

Yea the yellow deviated stitching and yellow pccb would’ve been perfect but pccb was unavailable at the time. So I had to make the adjustments. Enjoy the GT4, have fun with it and then upgrade to the GT3

GT3 RS, need I say more. Looks better, more rare, more raw and I’m sure the GTS can’t compare to the exhaust note. GTS is more daily driver comfort where the RS is the ultimate track throw a smile on your face weapon lol

Gt3rs is gonna keep going up in value. Best choice def was to keep that. The gts is more of a "regular" porsche. (As far as porsches go). The gts is super sexy and menacing in that black tho god damn.

I'd take the GTS... As fast or faster in most metrics(The 3RS will have faster lap times on most tracks I'll concede that), far more tunable power wise as well plus the manual. Now if track days and serious mountain road runs are the thing, then a 3RS may appeal more but the lack of hp and tq along with the inability to truly make more power leaves them a lil short in my view. Some will say it's not about the power, my reply is everyone says that when they dont have the power LOL. Now if you supercharge the 3RS that would a nice mix of power/balance/handling/braking for sure.

Yea it ultimately comes down to the driver’s use and preference. Both cars have high talking points and bring their own unique drive/feel to the table. So there’s truly no wrong answer here. After owning the 3RS and doing a few spirited highway pulls against some higher hp forced induction cars, I’m actually impressed at what the 3RS can do. But I genuinely love how the 3RS handles and the feedback it gives. It really feels like a surgical knife. I do agree that adding a supercharger would bring a nice balance. An RR Racing kit is definitely on my radar if I become yearning for more power. Or a TT Gintani build would be sick similar to Mondi’s old build.

RS is smart money. I did the Dundon long tubes and DSC on my .2. That made a big difference but it will drone at 2-3k on a cruise. Just drop it in manual and that isn't an issue. You know!

I enjoy the fact that either one would be an accomplishment. I personally feel that I would buy the GT-3, But since the price is an issue. I'd opt for a Turbo S because of the room in the back seat. I know turbos are a little more expensive with maintenance. And you get a little more options standard. The GT-3 has a price hike that discourages me from spending. And no back seat.

I understand. The price hikes hit across the board. I’ve seriously considered a Turbo S myself and the 992 looks amazing. But I just couldn’t pull the trigger on one. After I spec’d one to my liking it was about $300k and I don’t think a Turbo S should be worth that much. GT3 pricing is more within my range and suits my driving style. But unfortunately as every year goes by, the price will keep increasing on new models due to inflation

I absolutely 100% agree with you on the yellow!!! I prefer the smaller rear wing because it is more subtle. The large wing, for me, looks too over the top on the street. But yeah, black and yellow every day! The 'interesting' thing for me is that I can't actually have the specific Porsche I want because they don't offer my preferred combination of choices in one car. Maybe if you go to Germany and pay cash up front . . . A specifically unique and individual iteration for the money.

I don't know when you filmed this, but I'm pretty sure 992.1 GT3s are done. Like.. no more allocations in the US, ever. The next GT3 will be 992.2, but those haven't been announced yet.

If you wanted a GT3 allocation you should have taken the GTS, allocations are about building long term relationships with the dealers, no one walks in and gets a GT allocation unless you’re willing to pay stupid money over MSRP for the privilege. Want a GT allocation, buy 2-3 non GT cars, then you’ll get your allocation. Maybe you have but this is the only video of yours I’ve seen… in the meantime the 3RS is a great car too.

I have built a pretty good relationship with this dealership. Check out some of my previous videos you’ll see I’m there quite often. Also, if you noticed I have the freedom to walk around and film in areas that is prohibited to most ppl lol. Not a courtesy most ppl get at any dealership lol. Hence me showing the GTS in the service area awaiting inspection before it hit the showroom floor, the 996 GT3 competition car they’re building and my old 993 towards the end of this video on the lift that they’re currently building as well.

In all honesty yes a brand new gts areokit 992 is absolutely beautiful and it sounds like you know how to build your 911's but at the end of the day GT3RS old body is all motor N.A. so ya no doubt GT3RS I got a 992 gts areokit pts nardo grey and if the right GT3RS comes along in 2 seconds I pull the trigger and trade or sell my car
