Without Caitlin Clark, I would have never heard of Angel Reese.

Absolutely, the last time I watched NCAA women play-off basketball games was in 1994 when basketball and track great “Marion Jones” was playing.

You heard of Caitlin because Reese and the LSU Tigers kicked Iowa's behind on the way to winning the National Championship and Reese had the famous viral momnet of mocking her. There are "rael fans" in this game. The vast majority of women's college basketball programs have a high percentage of "season" ticket holders that support year in and uear out and that number is growing. Contrary to popular belief this game has interested and engaging fans outside of those who root for only CC...

@@MMBeing correction, I heard of Caitlin Clark from the media because of her college record setting basketball performance. That is the only reason I bothered to see who this young lady is. One thing about life in general is good performance in any field stands on it’s own merits. Eyeballs and/or customers will beat a path to the door of good performance. Caitlin Clark skills and performance on the court and her rather low keyed and well mattered all American girl demeanor off the court is why she is one of the most marketable and sort after college and now WNBA player over others who are equally and some who are more skilled and talented than she is. She brings eyeballs and eyeballs are money. But as an old basketball coach myself I am waiting to see how long will it be before they move her to a true point guard and have her focus more on assists, passing, defense, and rebounds and not worry about shooting the ball herself for the good of the team success. Now each time she gets the ball she is swamped by a defensive trap or double teamed.

@@clydecovington3972 Listen my friend. i am in no way suggesting CC is not a very good basketball player, she is. It's funny to me how casual fans and NEW fans don't appreciate the other talent in the college as well as the WNBA... The comments like, I only watch because of CC is also cool. But, there are fans who watch because they like women's basketball and CC is not their sole source of entertainment. A'ja Wilson, who many consider to be the best in the league and perhaps the world is leading the league in points at 27.9 and rebounds at 12.4 as of June 6th. She's also 3rd in blocks as well as 2nd in 3 point %...These are staggering numbers that casual fans and CC only lovers don't appreciate but they should. She is CURRENTLY DOING the things everyone EXPECTS and WANTS CC to be doing....

CC is very savvy when it comes to interviews. When something goes wrong she blames herself first instead of the team. She says "I need to be better at xyz". When she has a great game she credits her teammates. "The team did a great job tonight setting screens and getting me open looks." Some folks don't understand that a little humility can go along way, especially in public relations.

The American media just can’t stand it that the love and appreciation of Caitlin Clark’s skills transcends race. This country would fall apart if those in power and in the media didn’t keep the flames of racism continually fanned loud and strong. Most we fans just like watching athletics who give it their all. Her fan base comes from all races.

This and more is not a reason to insult the girl and make her look worse than what she's doing to herself. There's a better way to handle situations like this. Y'all ignorant responses to this only make her worse. There's a better way to handle this situation. What gets me is, you all need to be noticed, recognized and need ways to keep your jobs. The shame is on those who promote this behavior to our daughters and even worse are those who don't hold people accountable for their own actions. Ignoring the negative impact these athletes and entertainers have on our children is not the way to improve our situation. And making excuses for this slack behavior is a major part of the problem.
