That is the ZEN philosophy, being in the moment. I learned that over 35 years ago and it has served me well. I know there's more to our soul than just being present on earth. Matter can neither be created nor destroyed, only transformed. A basic principle of physics. And we are matter. Great talk, thanks.

Thank you Rod for this. This week has been really hard. I've been making progress with the videos I've been making so I'm proud of that. I made some carnivore icecream on Monday. It took me three whole hours to be able to make it because of some of the residual eating disorder stuff. Ugh. It was such hard work. I have some keto icecream that I made in June still not finished. I know I'm just not like a lot of people because of how the anorexia affects me. I do have cream, for tea or cream in hot water. I used to buy mascarpone but I don't anymore. I just try to do my best... that's all any of us can do Rod. Thank you for being vulnerable with us. ❤

Being present in the moment is great advice. Let your brain catch up to what you're doing. Let yourself feel satisfied. Certain things I don't buy because I know if it comes into the house, I will eat it right away. No amount of resolve will work. I just can't buy it ever. Looking forward to our interview coming up on Sunday.

Thank you for this! I've been Carnivore since August. I've lost 24 pounds so far, and my pain (neck, wrists, knees) has pretty much disappeared. I made a dumb choice and ate some chocolate covered almonds, and the next day, the pain was back! I'm not planning to do that again, and hearing you talk about learning from our choices and not giving up is so encouraging. 😀

Our magic resides solely in *this* moment. No other moment contains the living pulse of creation! And the more we can lean into it.... breathe into it.... expand into it..... fully receive it without judgement...... revel in even the most mundane aspects of it.... the more of not only the moment, but ourselves, will become revealed to us! Living from the inside out rather than the outside in.... oh yeah, that's the stuff, friends!

Yumm... that cream looks divine! I'm intrigued by it 😏 I learned to completely trust myself regarding food years ago.... my rule of thumb is that I want to feel equally good AFTER I eat it as I think I will feel as I'm eating it. I don't always assess the after-effects correctly, but I just see that as experience that I can learn from. It's a lifelong fine-tuning process!
@StayStrong_LiveLong Жыл бұрын
Feeling equally good after you eat it as you do during - that's gold Melissa! I must admit, I do feel as good after eating cream as I do during, so long as I don't go overboard and overload my bile stores.
@melissajanaemiddleton6811 Жыл бұрын
Took me many years to learn that perspective... before that, I was my own worst enemy before, during and after eating something "naughty"! Now I treat and speak to myself with self-care, love and respect, and I make my "rules" from that basis and that basis alone! I'm glad you feel good after your cream indulgences 😜 Remember that your liver will produce bile in response to your needs, but yeah, it helps to ease into it and give it a chance to catch up! I have a pint of local farm-produced heavy cream that is just heavenly! But whilst I may feel great after a small portion, if I have a lot, I feel a little spacey and logey... that happened to me on the weekend, so I went out for a hike straightaway, and that brought me right back into balance. And then I brought the rest of it to the office to share with a co-worker :) @@StayStrong_LiveLong

Great video my brother. Thank you as always. The moment is all that matters. Yesterday doesnt exist, tomorrow doesnt exist, only now exist. Quantum physics asks us...if we do not exist, does the universe exist?
@StayStrong_LiveLong Жыл бұрын
I always look forward to hearing your perspective Jason - and as usual you did not disappoint. I believe that from consciousness springs everything else, but I never thought about if we did not exist, what would be. I guess we wouldn't be conscious to observe it anyway, so perhaps it's a moot point?
@jasoncampbell3318 Жыл бұрын
@@StayStrong_LiveLong And I love hearing your thoughts. People do something very special...we give meaning and emotion to emotionless objects...classic cars or just cars in general is a good example...looking at the stars and understanding that the light you see now, has been long extinguished...and we marvel at that concept

Do you think that there’s possibly a downside to focusing on optimising personal health through following the various concepts / beliefs regarding what constitutes optimal nutrition? I totally understand the reasoning when it comes to individuals with chronic health conditions, genetic predispositions, CVD risk etc. And I’m also totally “pro” the idea of minimising personal chronic disease and maximising lifespan wellness (as opposed to longevity). But in the case of people who are clearly already healthy, isn’t it better (psychologically) to not spend too much time constantly seeking some kind of “panacea”, or attain some kind of perfect diet / level of health? Doesn’t it get tiring and anxiety-provoking? Are we in danger of overdoing it a bit?
@StayStrong_LiveLong Жыл бұрын
This is a good but a very personal question. Personally I find great joy in finding better ways to optimise my health and be a more vital human being. I don't see it as a specific goal but a lifetime journey of discovery, requiring learning, experimenting, observing the results and trying again. For some I understand it can be an obsession which can lead to an imbalanced mental perspective. At the same time I think there is also a lot of peace in accepting whatever is, just as it is, with nothing wrong and nothing to fix or change.
@stevelanghorn1407 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. And that is a great answer! And spreading the positive, supportive health messages, as you do, can never be anything but good.@@StayStrong_LiveLong
