Love the shit out of you uncle Joey, thanks for being vulnerable enough to share your gratitude and life story, people need and should want to hear just how many left turns life throws at you and you can come out on the other side a better person.

you are such a fucking asset to my life Joey. When you say the phrase "I struggle to explain this to people" it's usually something I distinctly understand or you help me understand. Thank you for keeping it real 100% of the time; it means everything to a lot of us and will truly be the most enduring part of your legacy.

Depression or any mental health issue is horrible. And sometimes it starts showing its ugly head when your a school age kid sometimes in your late teens early twenties. Sometimes in when your middle aged. That’s why getting help is important. I thank God haven’t had mental health issues. But several family members have.

Cashen man this hits home..I’m 27 and this sounds like my story...started abusing drugs after a 1-2 recreational stint with oxys back my senior year of high school in 2011..then when a tremendous amount of opiates wouldn’t work I started abusing Xanax and eventually meth..miraculously I was able to kick Xanax after I was in a wreck blacked out and went on a 20 mile police chase before I stopped..I still have some serious work to do but it’s nothing today like it was. Thanks for the encouragement, it means more than people might think

@@mikeridgland4783 absolutely man. you sound exactly like i was man. i graduated high school here in st louis in 08 and i started them little 40mg oxys 2007 with my friend nic (whos actually now in prison for shooting his uncle in the head and trying to burn his body in a burn pit, on xanax heroin and a cocktail of other shit). thank god i wake up every day with a good enough attitude to just do what i can and try to make people smile. all i care about nowadays is family and close friends. nothing else really is important to me. it takes some people all their life to figure that out, and i feel very blessed to be a year and 2 months sober. take care guys keep your head up ✌

My Cousin was a successful Cardiologist. Award winning in his field yet was never comfortable talking about himself. Non materialistic, Never had sex prior to marriage.Never tried drugs/ booze. Did not swear, cared about his patients like they were family members. Basically the opposite of me, yet completely non judgmental as he always placed me on a pedestal for my completely self centered micro accomplishments. He started getting severely depressed . After nearly 6 months of this shit state of mind he was in he decided to see a psychiatrist. On a Friday he was RXed anti depression meds. On the following Monday he found the perfect spot to jump to his death. just thought id share .

i think its high time for the "woke" idiots to be real. and it doesnt get any more real than Joey CoCo Diaz. Can't tell you how many times i've somehow either related to a story or a feeling described doesnt matter if it was from 1983 or 2009. im only 25 so having someone explain the way they've felt nd how they felt later helps me understand a few things a little better, and it really does make it easier. this one is pretty somber but the giggles i get from some of the stories just seal the deal for me too.

I have lost my friends to drugs who are now dead and I have ones that have serious mental health problems because of drugs, my brother is also mentally ill because of drugs (mainly amphetamines). When your loved ones become mentally ill it’s like you have lost them. I pray deep down their souls will be healed when they die.

Jesus Christ!!!! What a testimony about Joey’s friends. Oh my God! I can’t believe his friend lived through slitting his throat, wrists and ankles….. AND took 30 volumes. God most definitely had his hand upon this child to keep him here. If anyone has heard of NDE’s (Near Death Experiences) most people who commit suicide are not allowed into Heaven (Paradise). I am SO greatful Joeys friend survived his attempts to tske his own life. I would wish upon anybody to go to hell. You suffer SO much. Much love and respect Joey….you are a good man❤️🙏
