Without watching your video I can tell you -> This is art.. They simply tell you about a topic; you need to decide if you like it or not.. Non est deus is telling you about religion, but they do not hate or fight religion.. Kanonenfieber tells you about war, but they do not like war.. Like a mirror they show things from our shared history..(Tannenberg for example) Who is "right/good" during a war? Who has the correct religion and the right to spread it? War is cruel, but it can protect families.. Religion is "nice" but people die for it, too... The members (Hans, Kreuzer, Sick-Fried, Gunnar and Noise) are thinking about this and put it into music.. Good music.. "Leipa" is the 3rd. Project by the way.. Greetings from Germany..

Thanks for this review Almar, I noticed that all Noise projects match this point of being easy to listen to and remember and hard to put together in a perfect song structure. It's like Noise creates music from a fan's perspective attending the concert.

Hello Almar. Thanks for posting footage and your take on show; and for you and your Aussie introducing me to Kanonenfieber a couple months ago! Yes, Solstafir, Ghost of Glaciers (instrumental blackened postmetal), and now Kanonenfieber I would say have all been gateway bands for me. One thing leads to another! Listen to many genres but haven't really listened to much black metal until discovering these bands. Listening to Solstafir led me to Ghost Brigade. Listening to Kanonenfieber led me to Minenwerfer. Recently discovered Wayfarer (American Western black metal) which then led me to Blackbraid (Native American black metal). Just discovered Blackbraid 3 days ago and have been listening to music and watching concert footage nonstop. Ordered all of Kanonenfieber's releases on physical media on Bandcamp and ordered the 2 Blackbraid releases on the artist's website and hear there will a 3rd album in 2025. Love discovering, hearing new music when it just happens organically, naturally.

Thank you very much Bruce, all these bands you mention are great. I am super happy to spend time on discovering new stuff and that also means I don't have to listen to just 40-50 year old music all the time :)

First time I saw Kanonenfieber was when Noise was a special guest during the performance of 1914 at Summer Breeze 2022. That was epic! In 2023 I saw Kanonenfieber at Dong Open Air and ladt month I went to their show in Oberhausen. Oberhausen was insane, what a performance. Really looking forward to what the future brings for these guys. Next year they will play mainstage on Summer Breeze! Hopefully I can visit a performance of them in 2025 aswell. Noise his other projects are also very nice to listen to, Non Est Dues and Leipa.

Saw them last week at a small venue in Paris that is inside a floating strucure on the river. I later saw an instagram post where Noise complained that it was the worst concert experience of his life because he got seasick as soon as he stepped on it, and when people started moshing and the whole structure started rocking he got even sicker and had to puke in between songs. He apologized for not being up to the usual standard. He still kept the show going till the end, and i had the time of my life, i think it's fair to say the crowd loved it as well. If this was his worst, then i think it says a lot about him as a performer.

Yes it is an interesting band for sure, I just realised thought that I don't even talk about how they play etc. It reminds me s bit of Rammstein in that sense, I am not paying attention to what the drummer, bass or guitar is doing etc. it is the sum of all this stuff that makes up one experience that is very interesting.

There does seem to be some Rammstein influence, although they don’t sound as industrial. I think the instrumentation is quite interesting, and I love the sound of vocals in German (which I don’t understand at all). Love your videos, man, always interesting and horizon-broadening

No kidding! I saw them in Budapest in November. As it turned out, it was the same night that Dark Tranquillity's tour arrived to Hungary too and they played at the same venue, but on different stages. I had tickets for both gigs, so I was running back and forth between the stages. Thankfully, there was no overlap for the bands I wanted to see (Hiraes - Panzerfaust - Wolfheart - Kanonenfieber - Dark Tranquillity). Now, DT and friends did very good shows, but in contrast, Kanonenfieber literally blew them out of the water. Kanonen was one of my top 3, hell, dare I say the best show from the thirty-something bands I have seen live this year!

@Malkavian_GrinАй бұрын
Fully agree; their music holds a kind of catchiness not oft seen in the, uh, scene. Sure, plenty of black metal has good riffs that get stuck in your head but Kanonenfieber puts that feeling into the whole song. You don't want to skip any of it, don't want to miss any of the magic. In 3 days I listened to their latest album 4 times. Hell, it makes me want to learn German so I can sing along! I'm already looking up lyrics and learning bits and pieces (along with the riffs on songsterr!). I'm poor so I'll likely not have the cash to see them (plus do they even tour the U.S.?)

I should give them another chance, when I first checked them out I was a huge fan (and still am!) of Minnenwerfer's-Alpenpasse, which frankly blows them and basically everything out of the way, like a WW1 cannon! But that is an unfair comparison, despite the same theme, as again that album is so untouchable...like for real I wish I could take a poll and see how many of you listening to it for the first time would think Kanonenfieber is better.

"Saw" them live in Frankfurt and it was the most horrible concert i've ever experienced in my history of visiting concerts. Kanonenfieber was awesome as hell! They did nothing wrong but the location let waaay to many people in. You literally couldn't move a single bit or see anything from the show. Some of the personal screamed at us for two whole songs in the opening, because we wanted to stand at some stairs. You couldn't stand there in the case of a fire or emergency. It lead to a grandstand where you could also watch but the sound was horrible there. She wanted that we go into the crowd but it was almost impossible, so many people were there. In the end my girlfriend and me gave up, we fought our way through and could only watch the lights, pressed against a wall. Hours of driving for almost nothing. We wait for another show in another location next year. The experience was completely ruined.

Kreuzer is a war-ship..Gunnar is a common old German name but has Gun(ner) in it..Hans is just Hans.. They, or he (Noise), sneaked his way into YT-algorithms by buying clicks for the first EP (afaik). From then on it went kinda viral. They deserve where they are now.
