Why are Indonesian women not material, because Indonesian women appreciate people who have good behavior, most Indonesian women think rich men are not necessarily good, Indonesian women prefer to fight together from zero

I am currently dating an Indonesian girl. I'm a Brit living in Denmark. My girlfriend lives in Karawaci, just outside Jakarta. I'm visiting for a second time in just 4 weeks time. She is a Christian girl. Despite struggling in life, in the year & a half I've known her she's never asked me for a dime. She's sweet, innocent, feminine, & 20yrs younger than me. We are now negotiating her moving from Indonesia to Denmark. My general thoughts & feelings toward Indonesians is positive.

Because Indonesian (not just women) has strong religious and culture background that teach you that materialism is not number 1 in life although you need it for living. In Christianity, there is a teaching which say: just have enough for life. I wonder why westerners seems to lost it 🙄 I guess it's defused by western secularism which has strong materialistic purpose of life. In Moslem I dont know the exact verse but i think it has similar teaching. In javanese culture (heavily influenced by Hindu & Buddha) also has teaching about living a decent life. Buddhism teach you that desire of materialism will make you suffer.The older you are, you have to have less, eat less etc, in javanese it's called: ngurang-ngurangi. It is good for longevity btw. Recently there is a wave of hedonistic n flexing lifestyle but it is mostly scolded by people because most of them from corruption or scam money. In another twist, Indo people seems to like watching it only as entertainment 🙃 of course this is just in general, you will still find a lot of materialistic individuals esp in certain area/group that are notorious of that 🤣

@@MinimalistNomad thanks. but that has been said, it doesnt mean that people dont like to be rich. people highly value rich people who get it from hardwork (i think this is common value worldwide), but in indo rich + religious + generous n care for others is highly favorable. for example, Jokowi! Jokowi is very popular because he is not just after power n richness but he really care to share with others. a lot of politicians are of course rich people but not so many care for others.

In Indonesia, women aren't materialistic as long as you're handsome; they don't mind starting from the bottom with you as long as you're handsome, foreigners ("bule") are often seen as attractive in Indonesia, so it will be ez pz for foreigners to settle down and get married in Indonesia. "its beauty privillage" In Indonesia, there are also many gold diggers, but they can be easily spotted from the beginning because they're not shy about asking for things, so it's easy to avoid them

I'm not Indonesian, so I'm not sure why KZbin keeps recommending your videos in my feed 😄. Perhaps it's because I enjoy watching travel videos! 🤷♀️ Nonetheless, I'm here and thought I'd share my thoughts. The values you discuss, particularly what women in Indonesia prioritize, seem common among those from countries with traditional values. For instance, I'm Serbian and the qualities I admire in men, sincerity and honesty, are the same ones you mention. To me, honesty equates to honor, and being honorable is the most attractive trait in a man, surpassing material success. Men who are honorable, intelligent, open-minded, protective, intuitive, and good conversationalists are incredibly appealing to me. I don't associate wealth with attractiveness; in fact, I find the pursuit of wealth quite tiresome. Life is too short. I have a passion for travel (simple places, nothing touristy) and that's where I'm willing to spend money, but I'm not concerned with materialistic, expensive items. I enjoy looking good, exercising, and dressing well for outings, especially during my husband's business meetings as it matters to him. However, at heart, I value intelligent conversations, enjoying nature, and visiting my family more. I live in the U.S., but I'd be happy living anywhere in the Balkans if my husband were open to the idea. Perhaps when our children are older, we might settle there. I hope you don't mind my opening up in this comment section. 😄
@MinimalistNomadАй бұрын
Not at all! Thanks for sharing.👍 It's good when people open up. We have some things in common, since I am a Minimalist myself and value simplicity. What you said about honesty and being honorable being the same is interesting. Both words as well as the word honor have the same stem, namely "hon". The same in the German language: "ehrlich" (honest) and "Ehre" (honor) derive from the same stem. There is a lot of wisdom in words. One just has to look deeply. I find languages fascinating.

Hmm. I once date a Dutchman, bc we was in jakarta, of course the easiest place to date is eating out at the mall. 😂 and he was wondering why i didn't look excited towards branded items in the mall (he referred to his sister in law, also Indonesian-- loves shopping😂). Yeah there are women who loves materials things also there are some like me who prefers diy things😂. I think that most women that date /married foreigners are ready to open our perspective. A lot of materialistic women that i know of comes from traditional values, which is going to not have any relationship with foreigners : religion, food, values... (In exception most comes from muslim family too, or willing to convert). I have a friend, she is an artist. Currently living in bali with american boyfriend, she was an animator and concept art before, now a painter. Now😂 problem was she cones from very strict and traditional family, wearing syar'i hijab : she thow away that all, bc even from before, she has different perspective from her family. I also befriend her mother and i just said laughingly to her : what do you expected, you want brilliant child, also an artist but you don't accept her open thinking? 😂😂😂 fortunately now they are okay with it, considering also in the family almost all the offspring are artists,(i never knew family that has many brilliant child before) so..Even the family now less conservative 😂

Maybe what you're trying to say is they are less likely in survival mode than other SE Asia women thereby making them less likely to also be materialistic. But we have uber-materialistic women from Miami to Dubai that are not in survival mode. Like i would agree Japanese women are not materialistic because in their culture/religion as a whole people its looked down upon to brag etc etc and its a very introverted culture .
@MinimalistNomadАй бұрын
The majority of Indonesians need to make a living. So yeah, they are in a kind of a survival mode like anybody else around the globe.
@nathanbutcher7720Ай бұрын
You'll find materialistic women anywhere you go around the world. There are Indonesian and Japanese materialistic women just as there are women who are not. It's really a matter of statistical probability though. Sometimes generalizations are helpful, but they can also be misleading, deceptive, and color your initial impressions of a unique individual woman the wrong way. I've dated both Indonesian and Japanese so I know this to be true.

When they ask money i move to another one, there is unlimited supply
@nathanbutcher7720Ай бұрын
Asking for money directly is always a red-flag, but also a woman who asks what your job is should signal a red-flag too. Of course it sounds like innocent small talk, but it rarely is. If you're interested in the woman you don't want to start out with small talk. I absolutely hate small talk and prefer to get to the point. In that sense, what job you have is irrelevant. I like to answer that question by saying "to give you a good time" and if that makes her more persistent about finding out my real job I walk off.

@PALIKERO-SD43Ай бұрын
@@nathanbutcher7720Of course they don’t usually ask for money directly, but they begin to tell you stories of grief, and at that moment is when I know that there is no future, however I keep listening without providing any solution. From there is when things twist slightly and the tampo begins, or silence treatment. If this does not work, we move on to emotional blackmail (such as working as a bar girl to pay her debts), and if this does not have an effect, we reach the culminating moment that is the direct threat. The total time of this process, in my experience, can be 1-2 years if you are able not to fall into arguments. If you have never tried it, I recommend it, you will see the metamorfosis how her face changes from princess to gremlin throughout the unsuccessful attempts.
@PALIKERO-SD43Ай бұрын
When you start to stop worrying about women is when it starts to be easier to find them. It's a matter of probability, you just have to be in the right place and wait for the moment.
