@@aliceshiki8069 It's not even good enough to be that. Their main searchers are battle tutors, so this flies in the face of the deck and are you supposed to use it for you Aesir monsters? The weakest one has 3300 attack! That's it's only effect battle protection. Your opponent is not killing them by battle, they're going to use literally every other method to kill them. It wouldn't get played if that was all, but it would just be a forgotten relic. But the second effect is what makes it the worst field spell in the game imo. It just makes no sense and makes me think it is an anime effect. Why the holy fuck does this card destroy your monsters if it's destroyed? Like, sure Earthbound Immortals and Malefics need a field spell but the field spell itself doesn't kill them. The only thing I can think of that does something like that is Fireking Island, but that deck wants to be destroyed. I just look back and cannot fathom why this card was so bad. Like even the old shitty spells that boost your monsters by 200 are better than that garbage! At least they don't hurt you. This trash turns a twin twister into Raigeki. Terrible...

@@alfian4653 I feel like the original Thunder Dragon was always a decent self searching card that could quickly fill up a graveyard setup. It simply needed some support to really make it good enough to play. The individual pieces of Gate Guardian only have a battle effect and are all different typing (on top of not even having the text linking each different piece together into a proper archetype) so their inherent synergy is already not there. I feel like Konami would have to make a card like Ojamatch which goes out of its way to specifically list the cards in order to actually link together the pieces into a make Gate Guardian an archetype first. Maybe from there we might actually see a Gate Guardian deck reach some sort of consistency. Then we would also need to see some boss monsters that function as more than just an overpriced beatstick. Then maybe throw in some negation and protection for the boss monsters. Then maybe add some recursion or floating power for even more consistency. Only then maybe, just maybe Gate Guardian would be a tier 2 deck :P

The Egyptian god cards felt like they needed more support than the measly stuff they have now. Obelisk and Slifer needed their own variants of "Disciple of Ra", such as a card named "Oracle of Osiris", which would allow the player to draw 2 cards when sacrificed for Slifer, thus replenishing the players resources for summoning Slifer or "Architect of Obelisk" Which would have the player to summon tokens when scarified for Obelisk, thus giving the player instant resources to use its field wipe ability. They would also have spell cards likened and named after the monsters signature attacks, like Dark Magician and Blue Eyes Had. "God Hand Crusher" would inflict damage equal to Obelisks attack if it used its destruction ability that turn. "Thunder Force" would enable the player to destroy any number of cards on the field equal the the number of cards in the players hand as long as the player has Slifer face up on the field. "God Blaze Cannon" would enable the player to sacrice other monsters on their side of the field, add those monsters respecitve attack and defense points to Ra's stats, and give Ra complete blanket immunity on battle phase during the turn the card was activated

If they came out with those they would need to make another disciple of ra for ra. As thats generic support for god cards and doesnt actually help ra in any way more than any of the other gods (i guess ra cant be SS so it needed a tribute engine). Maybe something that gains you LP so you can use the pop effect. Not sure if it will feel as good not being at 100lp tho (assuming you dont use the pop effect). Maybe something that givss ra a lingering effect fhat makes the pop cost 1lp instead of 1000 lol

I Ritual Summoned Black Luster Soldier and revived the Blue-Eyes used to do so. I fused the Blue-Eyes into Blue-Eyes Ultimate. I fused the Ultimate into Dragon Master Knight. Mirror force.

1. That's not how tribute summoning works. 2. Blue-eyes were incapable of swarming on the gba games. 3. The AI would hit the blue-eyes with mirror force. It doesn't wait for multiple large monsters. 4. You start with no where near enough cards to do any of that in an old gba yugioh game.

I want to say this card originated in GX. A rogue employee of industrial illusions in the anime made the card to control Ra and Jaden destroys Ra and he special summons Ra to defeat the rogue employee and the crew find out that Ra finds Jaden worthy since in the anime the god cards just kinda make stuff up as they go along. This card’s effect had Ra bound in chains. If I recall correctly.

Fallen Paradise supports Armityle the Chaos Phantom too... I'm so glad it does that. Armityle is one of the shittiest boss monsters in this game, it's a contact fusion of all 3 Sacred Beasts (which banishes them, by the way) who has 0 attack but gains 10,000 attack only during your turn (and he also has battle protection). It makes the Egyptian Gods look great in comparison, he's so hard to summon but you'd be much better off with literally any one of the Sacred Beasts, let alone all of them. The only saving grace of this is that you can use name-copying monsters like Phantom of Chaos (who also copies effects) and Elemental HERO Prisma to maybe cheat him out a little easier, but you still need 3 of them. Fusion Tag could also help; regardless, you're better off doing pretty much any other strategy.

Light is basically an autowin button if it resolves, but you need multiple turns unless you have Nothingness, Endless Emptiness, AND Infinite Light all ready to go at once, which rarely happens. Meanwhile, Mound can be thrust onto the field via stuff like Metaverse and is much more readily accessible, not to mention Malefic Stardust can also protect it from being destroyed by card effects in case you decide to go that route.

Mound is kind of a niche pick for a God Deck, but I do think it's worth running in some cases. I think Obelisk Decks can get away without running it, since Obelisk has built-in protection, but it helps Ra and Slifer gain the protection they want that they don't inherently have like Obelisk does. Also, you can pop your own Mound to search a God, which is a play you can make I guess lol, in your deck from an earlier video, you ran three Twin Twisters, if you ran Phoenix as well, you could, say, discard Phoenix and pop your own Mound along with a card of your opponent's to search Sphere Mode and play it out from there.

I actually play Mound of The Bound in my Time Lord deck. It actually helps the deck a lot because it makes the Time Lords non targetable. They are already protected by their own effects "Cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects" and it makes my opponent use his traps or removal cards to get rid of MOTB first instead of trying to get rid of any of my Time Lords. And if he destroys it, that's just an add for a 3 monster removal Kajiu aka Sphere Mode.

I remember the year this came out a lot of people on devpro were playing a malefic deck with it. Back in that day a 4000 attack monster that can't be targeted or destroyed by effects was literally invulnerable to everything but bujins. Of course they are malefics so technically MST on the field spell hard counters them , but I was a scrub and ran that continuous spell that prevents field spells from being destroyed. Good times.

I like to use Mound of the B.C. in a more gimmicky/fun deck where the focus is on Summoner of Illusions, using its effect to bring out something like Naturia Exterio, Barbaroid, or Cyber End Dragon, and then the Field Spell prevents it from getting destroyed during the EP that it would normally do when summoned through Summoner. :)

This card does work really well in an immortal deck, it gives them an effect protection along with their already established battle protection. Also combined with the fact that, Immortals only need 2 tributes it makes for a nice setup. And the card genuinely works perfectly with some of the immortals like CCapacapu (The blue one) when he deystroys a monster by battle if that monster is in attack mode and has less than 3000 the opponent is automatically taking 3000, but if Mound of the Bound is on the field they basically take 4000 dame in one turn, and die pretty much next round .

So this is a comment before the video, will edit in a section for after. Mound on paper isn't bad, but it falls flat in what it could be for the level ten monsters, or god cards, or whatever. It has an actually pretty damn good protection effect, and the search for a "divine" monster is nice if you're running multiple of a certain god card or just one of each. However simply put it is not enough as if it's meant to directly help these level ten monsters it doesn't fix enough of the flaws, like the god cards flaws besides the effects is that they're hard to get out. It doesn't help that slifer and ra's attack is (are???? don't know which is supposed to fit here. Give me those English lessons oh great dzeeff) dependent on certain conditions. Obelisk is fine if I'm being honest, but that 3 tribute condition still hurts. This card could have fixed those problems easily but instead only applies a 1000 burn when a level ten destroys a monster. I mean... Maybe that could help if you're doing some strange RA OTK but... Why? Why would you do that? It fixes one problem for the level ten monsters yet doesn't do much to help either. Now going into the "divine" monster search thing, the fact that it isn't just a blanket "add one level ten or higher" monster to your hand is dumb. I get it, anime stuff. However that doesn't excuse it still being bad for anything else besides the god cards. Also for sacred beast they already have an amazing field spell so. Edit: You pretty much said everything I said lol

Going with the gimmicky casual idea for a god field spell, what if it had a similar effect with drawing and protection, but also there was something as simple as a once per turn search for a divine monster on activation, then reveal obelisk, ra, or slifer in your hand and you could summon a token to the field and you could summon a token once per turn for each god card?

Even better if you have Malefic Rainbow Dragon as there tend to be more fun combo cards for dragons then machines especially because you are stuck with one Malefic monster. Cards like Dragon's rage which, while a bit pedestrian, allows it to pierce defence monsters which unless you are using a burn strategy and are just using your malefic for crowd control, you are going to want it in order to win before the field spell is destroyed. It won't be meta but it can be fun.

I used to play that deck at my locals and regionals back in St. Louis, to quite a bit of success, years before master rule 4. Sadly, the deck's really fallen far with the logistical nerfs to Bahamut Shark (and general power creep to boot). Regardless, I appreciate the shoutout to one of my favorite strategies of all time!

Mound of the bound creator has helped my Red Dragon Archfiend Supernova deck alot many times, Protecting Supernova, King Calamity and Darth Bane, and i happen to win often because i put bound creator on my board to shield my level 10 and up juggernauts from destruction and targeting. I even had a few people in master duel quit once i placed Bound creator with King calamity.

This card has applications in True Draco. Set Rotation acts as a third Terraforming, that grabs a field spell (Diagram) that in turn adds the card that destroys a spell your opponent controls. That means, going first, Set Rotation gives you True Draco spells something to pop to net you a free boardwipe in the form of Sphere Mode. There's no better field spell to give your opponent than one that searches a boardwipe when you pop it. But aside from Set Rotation, yeah, this card kinda sucks.

Tbh, i've only seen it once in a malefic deck back in the day, this one dude was using a gimmicky malefic deck. He summons his end dragon or rainbow dragon along side some other engines to flood the field to get to some utility xyz monsters. Pros: -The deck did have some punching power in casual matches. Cons: -inconsistent as all hell. -cant recover (ie, no comback potential) -easy to counter (lol just play mst or something) I mean u know a deck is bad when it could get violated by playing a generic card like mst( looking at you dark magician)

Personally I would love if they created new cards specifically for the crafting of a gimmick structure deck for each of the god cards. For example, have a card like fallen paradise for Slifer to take advantage of his attack effect, boost his wipe effect to also include face up and face down defense position monsters and that monsters destroyed have their effects negated in the graveyard, and remove his end of turn special summon cost. For Ra it would allow you to instantly use a sphere mode to go into him, would automatically make his attack and defense 4000 (sphere mode does that too but just in case you don’t use that) and to use all your life points except 100 to banish all cards in your opponent’s hand and field, and that no cards can be returned from out of play for the rest of the turn, this effect can’t be negated. For Obelisk it would remove his end of turn special summon cost, and could discard or tribute any 2 cards to negate all other effects on your opponent’s side of the field for the turn. Those would just be the field spells, there could be a whole archetype of monsters designed to bring your gods out as well as support their weaknesses. For Obelisk and Slifer, theirs would be back row cards/hand, and for Ra, his would focus on building your life points back up quickly so you’re not vulnerable. I always saw Spellcasters/Dragons with Slifer, Fiends with Obelisk and Fairies/Deagons with Ra.

A strategy is to have all of the god cards out, use MST to destroy the field spell to get Horcathy (probably mispelled that) into your hand to win. Its does require a ton of setup and definately won't see any play unless new support arrives.

One thing I can also see about Mound is that if it made tokens easily to sacrifice to actually get out the gods, you might see a god or two, but it IS seriously lackluster. I do love when you make these videos to help clarify to people why some of these cards just don't work or are severely lackluster to help people understand there are better options

I remember that in 2013-14 there was a small moment where there was this Malefic deck with Skill Drain deck that use this field, it was really hard to counter because on that time there was not enough non targeting removal, i think it top some events but im not sure.

I feel you still undersell one monster. Wicked Avatar with the field spell in play locks your opponent into only bouncing with mon effects that do not target for 2-3 turns... That to me is worth the cost; since in my other comment I bring up that tributes are only an issue for the uncreative. The Wicked Gods need a Fallen paradise + cost down field spell that searches one per MP Wicked God card. effect protection/-2 tribute requirements/extra draw power + search arch type/floating board and hand wipe of opponent only to make others less willing to get rid of field spell... Oh and one last factor "level 10+ fiends can ignore summoning requirements while in your hand; I know the immediate purpose of that last part seems vague, but do you realize that helps several monsters be more usable not just the worst sacred beast Ravioli... Darkness Neosphere/Dystopia the despondent/etc. theres like 16ish monsters and only a few can be summoned normally, its dumb. summoning conditions/ laws of physics whatever wording works with you so these things can be summoned by Apprentice magician or normal summoned, and the stupid unneeded requirements can be avoided. Please do a video that fully explains what you think people mean by "summoning requirements" based off "effect text"; you have a couple of times chastised people when they worded their cards that "ignoring summoning conditions, did not help" and me having heard the description you read understood easily what they and the words mean in normal conversation... apparently effect textease does not allow English to be clear enough. Sorry for the rant but you never explain yourself mid video when its clear that you are dealing with people not understanding what you consider clear with effect text and how its supposed to be worded. I liked your "it" and "when" videos where you clarify those and wish you would cover the other frequently misunderstood effect texts that people seem to fail understanding.

If memory serves, in the anime, Mound of the Bound Creator was made and only appeared in a single one-off episode in GX. One of Pegasus's employees got jealous that Chumlee was rising the corporate ladder, as a card designer, and so he printed out his version of The Winged Dragon of Ra and went rogue or some shit. But to "control" the God card (even though it was a duplicate and ya' know fucking cardboard) he had create Mound to the Bound Creator, to control it. So it begs the question that if the God cards have wills of their own and only be controlled by those of -plot relevance- strong will or chosen by said Gods, how is it that said God cards can be tamed with another regular ordinary card. Like imagine if in some fantasy magically world, there exists a magic wand that is so powerful that it can only be controlled by select mages but then some average smoh just concocts a potion to get around that, so he can use said wand. That is essentially the same as what happened in GX.

You want to know what would make Mound of the Bound Creator broken? If it replaced it's shitty LP burn effect for the effect of Mausoleum of the Emperor. That way, it helps you summon your God Cards AND it helps you keep them on the field. That alone might be enough to make them meta, IMHO.

Years ago I tried to make a workable deck with the god cards and I ended up only using Obelisk due to it's set 4K ATK and it's targeting protection. I used Qliphorts as tribute engine with some Monarch support to make summoning Obelisk as easy and consistent as possible. I also used Mound of the Bound since it fitted the theme of the deck. It was fun to get it to work and fun to see the opponent's reactions, but that's about it what the deck had going for it, just some dumb fun.

I used to run mound of the bound in shaddoll Dino’s when we had Armageddon knight at 3. It wasn’t too bad since it makes conductor pretty hard to deal with. Plus searching the one of sphere mode was kinda nice.

I probably have no idea what i'm saying but here are some suggestions to fix mound of the bound creator. - add an ability that lets you show a level 10 of higher monster in your hand to your opponent to summon a token once per turn - tokens summed shouldn't be able to be destroyed in battle, but should probably have the effect to burn their controller when they battle - add an ability that lets you draw a card or add a card from your graveyard to your hand if you control a level 10 or higher monster - make the above ability a hard once per turn.

The best use for this card: Gishki Actually a pretty decent card in there. Dezeef pointing this out is actually appreciated, I see them overlooked a lot in videos. Given to how Nekroz is THE Ritual deck.

Being completely honest, Mound of the Bound Creator is a cool card, I like it. I really hoped tho if its effect were to dis a card to search a god card, or upon activation search a god card, yes flipping please, that would help a shit ton, but right now having to have it popped just seem to be a big F in my face. The problem I seem to find is that, either they stop you from summoning the god cards from the gecko, screw your combos up or wtevers, and Mound can't do shit, or they just get rid of Mound and then get rid of your god card, which, you also can't do shit against. It is really cool, and it does work... at times, but it doesn't help as much as one really would have liked... Like Slifer isn't very fun to use, because everytime you bring him out, you have like, 2 cards, if not less in your hand. Obelisk is better, Ra is a disaster. ...I should just play Phoenix mode, that is way more fun than trying to deal with any of this.

@@nidowott1669 Well, it doesn't help when the whole point of the deck was supposed to... play Ra, and try to win with him, even if it takes me a shit load of time because my opponent probably is playing a much more competent deck XD One did, like, really try to do the original Ra, and try to get a really huge beatstick. It didn't work, period. Phoenix is a lot better to go for the Ra beat down. Slifer is fvcking awful, Idk how to make him work properly due to everytime I get him down I have like 0 cards in hand. Obelisk is actually quite nice, he can actually win games, at a much more frequent rate, tho it doesn't say much since you barely win games with these anyway... As for the Wicked Gods, they feel actually slightly more impactful, probably because my opponent can't just make Utopia the Lightning and beat over Avatar, and it feels very good because Avatar does have a stun effect. Too bad getting Avatar in hand, and out on the board is a big pain still, oh and even then it is easy to get rid of it as long as my opponent has more brain cells than 2 and is playing a competent deck. If I am playing for a bit more higher win rate decks, I usually play my home brewed stupid AF Train deck and Witchcraft deck. They are very fun to mess around with. Because I don't actually like the tribute stuff, I just simply wanted to play with the god cards.

For instance, any card that returns monsters in mass to the hand or deck neither targets nor destroys. Easy solution. Now my opponent has lost their level 10 monster

Blue eyes chaos max dragon is 8 star 4,000 atk 0 def and can’t be targeted with card effects and if it attacks a defense monster it deals double piercing damage. All you need to summon is Chaos Form and a monster/monsters that equal 8 stars. Better than the Egyptian Gods in my opinion.

How about using mound of the bound field spell plus March of the monarchs to protect your monsters and plus advance zone which adds a plus one to hand plus for using three monsters for summon. For anybody who uses pendulums use magical abductor play her FIRST then play your three spells her effect activates add pendulum monster to hand then pendulum summon then normal summon level 10s and repeat. Also for more consistent decks have mask of darkness x2 and jar of avarice x2. This is just a guess hopefully someone try this strategy.

Now I have a sacred beasts deck off on the side. I only started playing it because of the support it got in duel saga. Dark summoning beast is a one for one for the sacred beasts. It also got fallen paradise. Which again as you said is league's better than mound of the bound creator. When it comes to support to the more casual decks. I want support that gets me to play said deck, and sacred beasts got that kind of support.

A big reason why I don't put Mound Of The Bound Creator in my Deck is because of the 3 Power Of The Guardian's in my Deck that does the same thing as Mound The Bound Creator and more just in different ways as a equip card also because of how my Deck also has 3 Mystic Mine and how fast and how quickly I get all five piece's of Exodia and how Power Of The Guardian's makes it impossible to destroy Slifer The Sky Dragon or The Winged Dragon Of Ra by battle or card effects while equipped with Power Of The Guardian's and how in very short time Slifer The Sky Dragon and The Winged Dragon Of Ra become over 10,000 attack with two or Three Power Of The Guardian's My favorite Exodia Hybrid God Deck that would easily crush over 80% of deck's including the new blue eyes alternative white Dragon deck Five piece's of Exodia 3 The Legendary Exodia Incarnate 1 Slifer The Sky Dragon 1 Obelisk The Tormentor 1 The Winged Dragon Of Ra 3 The Winged Dragon Of Ra Sphere Mode 3 Obliterate!!! 3 Draw Of Fate 3 Mystic Mine/ already more effective than Mound The Bound Creator in most categorys 3 Sword's Of Revealing Light 3 Power Of The Guardian's/does the same thing as Mound The Bound Creator in different ways as a Equip card and more 2 Solemn Wishes/ let's me use the Winged Dragon Of Ra effects without any problems many times so I can get direct attacks quickly 3 Witch Of The Black Forest/can easily search for Slifer The Sky Dragon or The Winged Dragon Of Ra or The Legendary Exodia Incarnate or The Winged Dragon Of Ra Sphere Mode 3 Sangan/ can easily search for Slifer The Sky Dragon or The Winged Dragon Of Ra or The Legendary Exodia Incarnate or The Winged Dragon Of Ra Sphere Mode 3 Battle Fader Also Obelisk The Tormentor and The Winged Dragon Of Ra Sphere Mode and The Legendary Exodia Incarnate already can't be destroyed by card effects or be targeted by card effects so the only two God cards that can be targeted by card effects is Slifer The Sky Dragon and The Winged Dragon Of Ra but with Power Of The Guardian's with its spell counter effect makes it impossible to destroy any card equipped with Power Of The Guardian's from battle or card effects by removing spell counters thus making Mound The Bound Creator meaningless overall

That's a bad deck lol. First: power of the guardians Is a bad card. You can imagine why. Second: the gods are just very bad. Also, its incredibly inconsistent
