Outside of their terrible effects and lack of synergy, I think people forget Bounzers because what the heck is a Bounzer? I’m being serious, what does it mean to be a Bounzer? Because to me, these are pack filler Beast-Warriors that for some reason are Warriors. The name sounds like they’re bouncers, so they must protect you from attacks and restrict your opponent like bouncers? Maybe they send cards back to the hand, you know, bouncing? No, there is no synergy, no common themes, and nothing to attach to. You know, unless you like hyena Edward Hammerhands.

I knew Hammer Bounzer from Duel Links, where I included it in some early versions of an autoduel Deck. Since most of the NPCs Decks include cards, that can result in pretty random wins and because the AI in Duel Links is (/was) incredibly stupid and can not play complicated Decks, it would help designing a Deck to specifically battle those NPCs. Nowadays the Decks are stronger and maybe the AI got smarter, so winning these Duels fast with a regular Deck is completely normal. (Examples of AI dumbness: There were situations where the AI left a White Stone of Ancients on the field in Attack position, held a powercard, until it could not turn the duel around anymore, etc. There are also events, where you have only 5 turns to beat the opponent, who has increased lifepoints (damage accumulates inbetween duels). The AI didn't know that the duel ends and chose to simply not activate ATK modifier cards on the last turn.)
@mectainea55753 жыл бұрын
Honestly hammer bounzer’s effect sounds like something that would fit nicely in a superheavy samurai deck but really only the special summon effect seems to have value. Even without the awkward level and trigger of phantom bounzers effect, there’s barely much it could search to begin with so its still screwed regardless Blade bounzer is depressing as all it needed for it to be at least okey is make it into a level 6 like the others with a more respectable attack point and simply alter the effect to something like “you can destroy one bounzer card in your hand and this card can attack twice this turn” which would of at least synergied with phantom bounzer even if the search pool is super shallow. Bounzer guard might of been okey (not fantastic but at least have a niche) if there was a bounzer with a similar effect to el shaddoll construct of destroying special summon monsters but alas there is non so its use is beyond limited.
