timepickle I do agree. Women have the state to give them resources, welfare, protection and security. They don’t need men directly anymore when they can just steal the money from other men via federal, state income taxes and property taxes. So it would behoove women not to vote for stupid fiscal policies and ineffective economic policies and programs that will lead to state collapse, rampant crime, war or revolution. But female solipsism often gets in the way of common sense and cause and effect.

Yoshie Moriki: "These young men, they are making much less money then the previous generation. So that then still the women are looking for similar level of economic capabilities. From the economic structure it's simply not possible." Allow me to translate what she just said: _"Women aren't looking for husbands. They are looking for walking ATM cards. But sadly at this time, the potential slaves for their plantation simply aren't productive enough."_ Gee, I wonder why Japan is having such a hard time with their marriage rates. I can't possibly imagine what the problem might be.

TheStapleGunKid hate to break it to you but love alone won’t feed a family. Lots of y’all have a rude awakening it’s expensive to live in places such as Japan and to add children is another monster in itself. Children are far from cheap which is the other reason why these folks aren’t getting married they can’t afford children. But don’t we all wish we could produce resources just based off of love alone🙄 get your head out of the clouds frfr💯
@TheStapleGunKid
@TheStapleGunKid 4 жыл бұрын
@@arlisiacoley3244 Yeah people need to get resources. But why is the expectation all on men? Women aren't barred from employment, and modern labor-saving devices mean taking care of the home is no longer a full time job. The traditional model of marriage is obsolete in the modern world, and has been for a long time. Also what does affording children have to do with marriage? You don't have to have kids in a marriage. It's totally optional.

@TheStapleGunKid 4 жыл бұрын
@@arlisiacoley3244 So your argument is "It's not my fault I'm selfish and greedy, blame god?" That's the argument religious fanatics use. "God made me do it". I'll grant you men usually are better providers, but that's not an excuse for making them the exclusive ones. Your comparison to having children is faulty. Men are physically incapable of having kids, but women are not physically incapable of working. I think it's really women who need to step now more than men do. Women are disproportionately hurting marriage way more than men are. The vast majority of divorces are initiated by women after all. And if it's hard to find a man making lots of money, then women should be willing to work a bit harder, at least temporarily, to help make up for the difference. Another reason women are disproportionately part of the problem is because they aren't anywhere nearly as willing to date or marry men who don't make lots of money, whereas most men don't have a problem dating or marrying poor women. Women fought hard for changes to drop the barriers to employment, but now they are refusing to take part in the world they helped change by changing along with it. My point about children being optional in a marriage is just that: They are optional. If you can't afford kids, then just don't have them till you can. It's not reason not to get married if that's the only thing holding you back.
@rogmenkit7443
@rogmenkit7443 4 жыл бұрын
TheStapleGunKid no duh children are optional but do most married couples choose not to have them? Exactly most people who are married even those who aren’t have children. Your argument is unrealistic! And when you do have them who is going to watch them if not your wife/baby mama and figure out how much it cost for you to have a nanny or place them in daycare. Then factor in food, cloths, diapers, Medical insurance, medication, dental care etc. If both parents work one has to at least be part time or run the risk of losing their job. Which still means one person is still going to have to make more money most likely it will be the male due to statistically women take on more of the responsibilities with the children and house work. C’mon it’s simple math I swear too many people on the internet are just dumb. If you are nothing but a beta male then don’t look in the direction of a women or speak about marriage/family.

Being married is a two step dance between man and woman.Its the unity and love and support of one another that allows the relationship to grow and develop and prosper.Together as a team Money and wealth can be built even if you are coming from nothing.I met my first wife and I didn't even have a licence or a car. I had no money in the bank.And yet we dated and married and bought a house and paid it off and of course bought a car and had money in the bank.We raised 3 children and where married 12 years. Unfortunately we grew out of love and grew apart.But the morale of the story is that no matter who you are.If you are both willing to build and work together anything is not out of reach.

@@ma111ma11 I would say burdens of modern life, lack of morals/principles/ethics/empathy , rather than 'modern' marriage. Modern marriage in the context of what was obligated in the past, to bring up balanced children, is not really followed, except in a few more 'traditional/conservative' cultures. However people forget the balanced adults of today were brought up by those same traditional values. The problems with Japan at the moment is the long hours culture, low pay, job insecurity, high cost of living. The problem wasn't really marriage or roles the husband or wife, but one of expectations. I have no issue with women or men doing what they want. Have a career, be a mother/father, look after the kids or work long hours. But regardless of what you are sold, you cannot have it all. Only the very few, very affluent, can 'do it all'. For everyone else, it's either time and money demanding and exhausting or you give up having a family. In most cases, both spouses have to work to afford a lifestyle... And they give up having a family. And people forget, once you have kids, they must come first. A father is expected to go out and earn the money (society frowns on him not doing otherwise). The mother has the choice. The people with ferengi traits that control the economic system will end modern society. There are no winners in Japan. Most women I know in their late 30s or 40s regret, in most cases, not having a family. Most men, don't. Decent, hardworking men are a slave to the family. Decent women are obligated to their children. Women in their late 40s with family are happier. Men in their 40s with family are miserable. The reverse is true with the genders when there are no children.

I have more respect for the disciplined single dude that is very talented in his personal career rather than the jobless dude who ran away from his responsibilities towards his wife and kids. Frankly speaking, getting a girl is not how you prove your worth as a great individual but rather the reward you reap after you proved yourself as a very strong and talented individual. @Odala It doesn't matter. My point is that people can still have a true sense of accomplishment by basically being talented and disciplined in their respective careers. They don't really need a family. Also, the single guy has more reason to put more time and more effort in the military or his careers compared to the married guy for the simple fact that the single guy has no family waiting for him or worrying about him. The single guy can put all of his time, effort, and life into his career or the military. Simple as that.

They could be leaders of a group of friends or a team leader of other activities. The people they're leading are not necessarily their families. Also, you're mistaking leading a group of soldiers with leading a group of kids and a wife. The military life is very different from having a family. It's obvious why people aren't getting married as easily as before. #1 - Economical reasons. Marriage is expensive. Children are expensive. Divorce is expensive. And the living cost is going up, relative to their pay. Simply speaking, most people can't financially support a marriage. #2 - Marriage is a legal business contract that can have serious consequences. For most people, the risk is simply not worth the value of marriage.

I guess all the people blaming women didn’t listen until the end. Women are expected to give up their jobs after marriage. Even if she made decent money, Japanese society expects her to quit her job and have babies with very little resources in childcare. So even if she wanted to work she couldn’t. Of course she wants the guy she marries to make enough to afford a lifestyle she made for herself. No one wants to purposefully lower their standard of living. When I got married my Japanese male colleagues asked me when I was going to quit. They were seriously appalled when I told them I was the breadwinner.

It is rather simple if both the woman and the man works who raises the kids? If you do not want to have kids then there is no point to marriage. If you do want to have kids, and thus want to be married you need to find a spouse. More women want to get married than men, that, coupled with gender roles, results in women generally being the one at home with the kids. Therefore when women give up their "career" to get stay at home with the kids, they want a man with better (or the worst case equal) earnings and potential. However, these men are in short supply, and unfortunately for feminist career women, income and combativeness are not the traits men look for in women. Men look for personality (will she be a good mom) and appearance (does she have good genetics). Women look for Income/social standing (Can he provide for my kids) and appearance (Though income is vastly more important, genetics also matter, women just have higher standards rating 80% of men below average). Men do not want to be a career slave chained to a family, and sex before marriage is currently now mainstream along with porn. Additionally, the current institution of marriage provides no benefits to the primary income provider and even fewer benefits to men due to biased family courts producing ridiculous divorce settlements and alimony/child support payments (which are based on how much you make not how much is needed). Basically, until the institution of marriage is changed, and there are actually benefits for men, things will just keep getting worse. The biological framework driving these decisions is not going to go away, and unless men start seeing some of the support women do (more hands-on schoolwork, less ADHD drugs, no more gender-specific scholarships or women driven hiring preferences) the amount of "datable" men available to career women will continue to tank, and so will marriage rates.

yes well put. men have not been liberated while women have been. disbalance. we also need to force women to marry down like men did since millennia and normalize it now that we are going towards equality. the laws also would force these women to stay in marriage or they lose their finances and this would keep them from resisting the marriage down. then we have true equality.

You people are really diverged from the point a little. Women are not satisfied with what they get. They always go for something rare. It was the repeat of what happened to men some 25 - 30 years back. I for one can't get married because I earn less. If I marry a girl that also earn along with me then we can manage a home and a family. But the women who earns as much as I do won't be married to a guy who earns less than or equal to what she earns. Result : Low earning men don't get married. High earning women don't get married. All of them stay single and be aged. Now if we create a mix of education and employment the picture becomes more clear. Labour / low earning women are happily married to labour men. It is the middle class guys that are worried and not married, both men and women.

@ 1:55 Okay I'm going to have to call out some BS on this. And yes, I am directing this at the anthropologist who supposedly has done studies on this. If making less money now is the sole reason why marriages in Japan are declining, then how are foreign immigrants finding more success in finding Japanese spouses than Japanese men themselves? Or are we to assume that all foreigners coming to Japan are somehow making more money than Japanese men on average? You cannot deny the fact that the growing number of mixed children being born in Japan is revealing the higher success rates between Japanese and non-Japanese marriage unions. So going by this observation, I am lead to believe that the declining marriage unions in Japan (ethnic Japanese with ethnic Japanese) has more to do with Japanese men's own mentality and/or lack of social skills dealing with the opposite sex than it is about economic reasons.

Women have forgotten why they are needed and why they have been pulled from those needs and somehow drawn to the workforce; when in fact the corporations and businesses earn more for splitting the bills when singles are dominant and earn less when marriages are dominant. Marriage completes the soul and striving for money and success in women completes nothing. Billionaire wealthy women and multi-millionaire women are some of the most single demographics and we need not look any further than people like Oprah and the Kardashians as prime examples. More money for women equates sadly to more depression. This is an unfortunate reality swept under.

Knowing that the Japanese culture is going to fade into nothing, I am both positive and sympathetic for the loss. Even if there were no atomic bombs, there were going to surrender anyway. They would still have committed cultural suicide by not making more Japanese at this point in time in an alternate timeline, where the atomic bombing happened in the cold war without the lesson of WWII. In a way, from the maker's POV, japanese suffered the sin of the whole world. And then choose to not play the game anymore after the baby boomer ruined for their youth. They say in buddhism, if you move on, most likely you move on into 3 realms - the demon reality, the hell where you would pay your due, and the animal kingdoms. If it's somehow truth, they probably get to swim more than they suffer. In a way, it makes sense if you think about it; the Japanese lowers its fishing with the decline in hunger, thus the sealife they fish for food climbs back up in population, and may be someday, the Japanese would make a comeback once all the debt is paid. May be when the artificial womb is commercialised. Don't know which would comes first, chicken on Mars or egg laying machine.
