Day 23 Today... It's getting tough....first week was just hell. Second week wasn't pleasant either, that's where insomnia and weird dreams kicked in.. After like 10 days appetite started to come back, which was great. At least I could eat. First 14 days is a must. After that, a different period begins.. The worst part was behind me after that, BUT different problems appear after 2 weeks. Now the cravings, the depression and second thoughts and doubts start to come in. The only thing holding me back from going back to smoking was the fact that the first 14 days were hell and I didn't really want to throw that away. Also you are kind of proud of yourself when you wake up knowing you haven't smoke yesterday, that's what kept me till 3 weeks and 1 day today. I'm still going. Am I feeling great?? Hell no!

I started smoking Weed and Cigs at 12 years old and am currently 32. I'm talking a pack to a pack to two packs a day and wake N baking and smoking all day until bedtime. Picked up vaping in addition to the cigs for a few years even. Eventually quit the cigs and vaped only but was going through a pod or two a day atleast. This lasted years. Yesterday I was 1 year and 1 month clean off of anything tobacco or nicotine related! I'm currently on day 8 of no weed as well! It was a real struggle but has been and will be so absolutely worth it!!! Thanks to this channel and a few others as well for making it seem possible! I love seeing other people's stories on this. I hate saying "if I could do it so can you" but trust me I was a degenerate lol. If I can you truly can as well! Good luck everyone! Worst thing for me is anhedonia setting in between month 1-3. The acute symptoms like no sleep, anger iriitability nightmares, emotions all over the place, depression etc. All of that shit I can cope with. Even the bad shit gives me something to fight or overcome and a weird sense of purpose. The Anhedonia is what is getting me every single time I try to quit. The feeling of nothing. No motivation No enjoyment. not sad not happy just indifferent. Cant find reason in anything in life. All the good things quitting brought with it seems to not matter to me at all. I dont want to see anyone meet new people or do anything I normally enjoy for that matter. Cant cry or feel sorry for myself. I just dont care about life or myself in it. Not suicidal I dont care enough for something like that. Then I go smoke to feel something. It's always a bad feeling, anxiety shame guilt all that shit,. But it's prefereable to not feeling anything at all.

I have a lot of people I know who are in the camp of quitting cannabis is just a bad idea. It is unique in that way that smoking weed daily is just an important part of life, but of course drinking or other substances are to be avoided. I also used to have a never quitting mentality, but now I’m very focused on quitting. It is sort of odd to see how it’s golden handcuffs in some ways, and it’s almost offensive to suggest stopping or taking a break in cannabis culture. Luckily it does have medical benefits, but for myself I should have quit a decade ago most likely.

@@Goonies1985neversaydie You said it best brother. Ive been sober from weed (my only real addiction) for about a month and a 22 days now and even though i have my days were i feel lonely, depressed or not like myself i know that no matter what getting high wont fix any of those things. I will still feel exactly how i felt before just with being stoned added on top. Im tired of getting high for the same reasons i was years ago and being stuck in this endless loop, ive had enough. And unlike some people who get high to escape i get high and it just causes me to fixate on the things that ill me even more. I feel like its so easy for me to forgive others no matter how bad or how many times theyve wronged me but yet i feel like its so hard to forgive myself. Which in turn feels like it makes me stay to myself more because i dont ever want to be the reason someone says that they are hurt because of me or that they feel down because of something i said or did. whcih i know is not healthy but i never want to feel that guilt or shame from such a thing again. I know that it is not healthy, but i just try to tell myself i am not the person i used to be and never will be again. I think a big part of that feeling this way is me whishing i could go back and right my wrongs, show the people who ive hurt that i am no longer that person anymore and i have and can do better. But unfortunantly thats not always the case and i just have to make peace with the fact that in some peoples minds i will always be that depressed stoner who rather get high all day than go make fun memories and get out of their comfort zone.. i guess life goes on and i have to know that i am doing better and im not that person anymore even if ill never get the chance to prove that to the people that once meant the most to me. But i can prove it to myself and the people who i will meet in the future. Enough wasting our precious years and time on things that dont add value to our lives and steal from our pockets and rob us of our ambition and goals in life. I wish you all the best on your journey through sobreity and know that even if we fall we can get back up brush ourselves off and keep moving forward towards becoming the versions of ourselves we see in our minds and in the mirror lookin back. Much blessings brother. Peace & love.

I didn't really understand weed in my 20's and had to learn what was good and bad over the years. I would of paid & smoked stuff that wasn't even weed. My trip to Canada when l was 30 was very educational and got to see how scientists produce the stuff, had the best time there especially in Vancouver. Replace smoking weed with reading first, or watching movies. Something you have to focus on. those war movies like “1917” or all “quiet on the western front” distracted me from cravings because you’re mind is so far away from thinking about smoking. You want to be a new person over night, working out eating healthy it’s like that old saying “you try to be all things to all people at once you end up being nothing to nobody”
