We have railway and roads connecting this region. I can use my ID and work without a permit in Ug and Rwanda. We are working on monetary union and free trade. This is why I question the motives behind, most so called "diaspora" movers, this man shows that making it work takes genuine motive, by immersing yourself in the society (learns the language, lives their life, and contributing..). You may be black but wherever you carry the WS mindset(lens of view of the locals..), will never work. Africa requires rolling up your sleeves and be ready to immerse yourself in the culture

Nephew Mark is truly an inspiration. He has accomplished more in three years than most people have done in a lifetime .Mark said it best , if you are messed up in the western cultures , don't expect a fixed all solution when moving Africa. You will change AAfrica , you can only change yourself

great conversation. I spent almost my entire 3 trips to Nigeria getting to know the various cultures I was exposed to through learning the language, food, history, etc. I kept any kind of inward reflection or negative feelings about Amerikkkan abuses to myself. It was constanty bubbling to the surface though. I had to keep it in check though and dealt with it spiritually. I labeled it a , "reconciling of 400 years of my generations". A lot of us need counseling either before or while we begin our repatriation journey...for real.

Mark, the best way to experience a different culture, especially in the region you chose, is to do exactly what you did: Not to Plan anything! That, is true adventure.! It usually works better. You meet the Real People of the country. They have the opportunity to discover who you are you too. It also takes you away from the things you would not get on a Tour... It is how I started out too. As always O'shay and Joanita excellent interview, the young brother is on another level of positive enlightenment. To leave the USA at 19 and be living in Africa(Tanzania) amongst the people is beautiful, if more young brothers and sister's could come together, like this when they come to an African Country and live amongst the locals learn the culture and language and above all learn from each other and build spaces and places to benefit the young African, can only benefit from that. I think older people tend to be to stubborn and don't like change, we're as young people (some not all) are all about solutions. I must say like someone said in the comments this young brother should run for a political seat in the future with the right training and support and backing of the community where he's at he would be fair, have everyone's interest at heart. Once again O'shay, Thank you brother you truly are a legend for all you do for the Community. Peace love and massive respect.

I really like Mark. He is practical and humble. I moved to Mexico when I was 22 years old. Fresh out of College. Like Mark, I moved to a City but not the biggest, and lived.amongst the Mexicans, there were very few Americans where I lived, and even fewer Black people. This is what Mark did. He learned about the people and how they think. He had the humility to listen before he spoke. This is the way to move abroad successfully. To adapt and listen, first. Then talk and expand. Very smart kid. I wish him and Kenganda Podcast continued success. Great Interview.

This is the way. The Anthony Bordain (RIP) approach to traveling abroad. Learn the locals perspective from the people themselves. Learn the culture, the history, the local hole in the wall food spots, etc. Then form your opinion once you have an authentic understanding. Anything else will have you projecting your own assumptions on to the community and missing the intricacies.
