Also i really like how the jedi and sith both strive for the same but end up as being two side of the same coin. The sith see the world as a prison being held down by everyone else, but the force can give them the strength to overcome everyone else, where as the jedi see their own selves as a prison being held down by their emotions and attachments, the force gives them the tranquility to overcome themselves. Both sides see the force as a way to break free from mortal bonds, but their ways in doing so directly oppose each other

The way I interpret the prophecy is the same way legacy of kain did theirs when it came to the vampire/hylden champion. Both races essentially prophesied the same person(raziel) as their champion. So in regards to the sith and jedi prophecy, they essentially prophesied anakin not knowing his name obviously. Anakin did what both prophecies said the chosen one would do.

It isn't. It predates the Dark Jedi arrival on Korriban, harkening back to a Sith (the species, not the philosophy) King who drove off a Rakatan invasion nearly 3000 years before the Republic was founded and near enough to 20,000 years before the Dark Jedi fleeing their defeat in the first Schism became the Sith as we would recognize them. It might be a vision of the same *person*, but it's not a divergence of the same prophecy.

I always thought that Anakin was the Chosen one of the force, not necessarily the light or the dark. He helped destroy the Jedi and then, with the help of his son, destroyed the Sith which freed the force of all the old traditions and allowed Luke Skywalker to become the true instrument of the force.

In my opinion Darth Bane does seem to fit the criteria for the chosen one of the Sith best. But I also think this prophecy is intended (not just by writing, but also in the Star Wars universe) to be easily applied on sithlords. The Sith are eager for power. Most of the Sith seeing themselves as a chosen one just fits the way they act and its benefits them. If you want to be someone who can be "the chosen one" you need to become quite powerful, what means many Sith craved even more for power. All of this can create powerful Lords who represent the force of the dark side. In some way it's like an horoscope, easy to be construed in many ways to appeal to as many people as possible.

I’d argue that it was Vader. Perhaps this prophecy of a “chosen one” predates the separation of Jedi and sith from their origin species/civilization. The Jedi thought it would someone who destroyed the Sith. Vader did that. The Sith thought it would be someone who overthrew the republic and destroy the Jedi order. While the sith were never a massive group like the sith empire again they did slowly add some sith assassins (maul,ventress,etc) we also see the rise of the inquisitors. So while there are only two lords of the sith the organization is broader than that if only slightly. Also the prophecy never says rule the sith instead it says lead. If you look at the broader sith order it is hard to say vader was not a leader. It would be similar to saying the vice president is not a leader. While he may not be the highest authority this prophecy dose not explicitly state that the Sith'ari must be.

The Chosen One stuff grinds my gears. It cheapens the end of ROTJ while simultaneously artificially closing the narrative door so any future Sith vs. Jedi or Dark vs. Light battle beyond ROTJ can be seen as "ruining" or "contradicting" its ending from people determined to crap all over anything after it. To me it's a misread prophecy at best and or a lie. In my mind, Anakin, Luke and Rey all are equally important figures in balancing the scales of light and dark every generation. The battle of good vs. evil is a never ending one. Eventually someone else will have to step up to resist the dark.

They took "the one who would bring balance to the force" as being the one who would wipe the sith and dark side out for good. That isnt' balancing the force, it is un-balancing it. To bring balance to the force, you have to wipe out both the Jedi and the Sith, the dark and the light, so that the force becomes neutral again. That *could* have been Kylo Ren, he almost wiped out both orders... but chickened out at the last moment and saved the Jedi cos he had the feels lol

There can be made many reasonable assumptions as to who the Sith'ari is/was. Logic dictates that the final Sith would be the one. The one who destroys all the Sith and then, forever, rules alone, because he has no more need of a successor, nor a need for others to share in with his supreme power. In this regard, no Sith alive or dead fits this promised description. Revan redefined the core ideas of the Sith about what mastership and apprenticeship means for a Sith, but failed to build anything lasting. Vitiate built a long-lasting empire, but ultimately failed when he died like all before him. Bane restructured the Sith and destroyed what came before him, but he died and was not the most powerful. Palpatine brought about a victory 1000 years in the making but a simple betrayal that could have been foreseen destroyed him. All of these would be, at first glance, valid choices for the Sith'ari, but their legacy is, ultimately, one of failure. None of them had perfect power, perfect destiny. None of them build ever-lasting empires, were immortal or unbeatable. They all accomplished grand things, yes... But so far, the Sith'ari has yet to appear, and may never appear.

I always interpreted it as two different prophecies from two different orders about the same person, the Chosen One and the Sith’ari are the same person and the Jedi and Sith predicted the same events, they just saw it all through different tinted glasses and their interpretations were wildly different. So the answer to both prophecies is Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. More interesting/amusing to me are the internal conflicts over the Sith’ari prophecy within the Sith orders, and how just about every new faction of Sith would disavow the prior incarnations as limp-wristed poseurs while they were the REAL Sith and their leader was of course the Sith’ari. Many Sith claimed the title over the years, because they all have such egos they couldn’t even conceive of anybody coming after them that might be better, so surely they must be the pinnacle of Sith achievement themselves. lol

According to the Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia from 2008 yes. But it was the 2012 Book of Sith that showed later Sith claiming the title. I’d give more credence to the Book of Sith, even if it was meant as sort of a running joke by the author to show the hubris of the in-universe “authors.” Book of Sith is meant to be a journal from in-universe, the Encyclopedia is just a reference book. Aside from the fact that Book of Sith is more recent, reference books are often retconned or just plain inaccurate, and could more accurately be said to reflect what is canon and true at the time of their publication not so much what is canon and true forever, if other sources come along and contradict them. This is one of those situations as I see it, and the video is inaccurate and operating on old intel.

I thought about this aswell a sneaky way to cheat death force essance transfer because they always say "strike me down" or "you have to kill me to take the title" a intresting way to survive jumping into another s body. also, we know from the books that neither Darth Plagieus nor Darth Sidious followed the Rule of Two. Plaguis wanted himself to be the last and immortal sith lord, with Sidious as his eternal apprentice and partner. Sidious in turn, wanted power for himself, and kept multiple poorly trained apprentices purely for the sake of helping him attain and maintain power. his biggest strength was his ability to manipulate people. I'm under the impression that Sidious didn't care about the Sith or their teachings per se, he just wanted power for himself.

There's so many characters that fit the description for the Sith'ari that it's unclear who it actually is just like the Chosen One prophecy was unclear until those events transpired. Unlike the Chosen One prophecy though, there's a lot of events that match to the Sith'ari prophecy that it could be either one of these candidates: Darth Revan, Darth Vader, Darth Bane, or Palpatine So it really is up for debate if the Sith'ari appears whenever there's an imbalance in the force or that it's only one being like the Chosen One prophecy? (I know I mentioned Darth Vader on my list, but for all we know the Sith'ari and the Chosen One could be the same person?)

Darth Bane and Darth Malgus aren't exactly the same guy.... also, Revan. I think Revan fit both the Jedi chosen one and Sith'ari at the same time. He brought balance to the force by starting and ending the Jedi civil war, and directly leading to Vitiate's destruction, destroyed the Sith under Malak, but it was his teaching that made Darth Bane make the rule of two

@@blackshogun272 Don't act like all of it was good. It wasn't. In fact, I'd say the majority of it wasn't good. But respect the labels. The word "legend" implies a story that's shrouded in mystery. Something that could be true, it could not be true also. It gives room for them to bring back or change things from the old canon as they see fit. If you were to include the stuff in legends, star wars would be a bloated franchise with no room to add or improve. The "legends" approach is the most respectful way to go about it. Think about that aspect a bit.

I recently listed to the Bane audio novels and while you listed the candidates of Sith saviors. I though to myself, Bane is unequivocally the Sith chosen one. Bane in every aspect embodies the Sith traditions and culture. Proven by growth, ability to recognize the weakness and betrayal the dark brotherhood disgraced the Sith in and of itself. Alway down to his master making excuses for B.O.D corruption for the sake of peace and pin pointer at that moment his master was a fool and no longer a master. Bane is the Sith chosen one.

You touched on the prominence of "The Chosen One" trope in media but if you accept Sith'ari Bane as canon, it does open up a slightly more unique take on the old cliche. The Chosen One ALREADY happened, a derivation of the trope that we rarely see. And with that perspective, we can view the events that led up to Sith'ari Bane and the effects their power left on their universe.

One huge fault in Darth Bane's philosophy of the Rule of Two is that it still doesn't fully prevent the lesser apprentice from murdering the greater master using external means such as poisoning, hiring contracted killers and private armies. Darth Sidious resorted to getting his master drunk and killing him in his sleep, for example. Blatantly ignoring an honorable challenge to fight to the death, where you'd fully test your powers against your opponent, may the strongest Sith survive and reign as Master. It's likely that Sidious trajectory of power is still lesser than that his master would've had, had he not been killed in his sleep. The rule of two also puts huge risks of extermination of the Sith order, as also shown when Sidious had not only murdered his master, but sent his apprentice off effectively to his death, leaving Sidious as the only Sith for a while. This same risk he took again later, when ordering the killing of Count Dooku. Had his plan failed at any time or had he accidentally died due to any unforeseen health complications or a stray assassination attempt, the Sith legacy would've stopped dead in its tracks, partly fault of Darth Bane.

Neither were really correct. I'd like to know if the Grey Force wielders had their own version of the Chosen One. I feel as though it would be much more accurate, as they chose the Force to guide them, rather than using the Force for their own will. Also remember that, when under the ideals of a prophecy, you do what you think is right for the prophecy to come to fruition. This creates a self-fulfilling prophecy, rather than a true one. The Grey Force wielders wouldn't do what they thought would assist in the prophecy, they'd do what the Force requested of them at the time.

Bane is my favorite Sith Lord. His rise and inevitable fall also shows his theory that the dark side is like a venom has ground. Like all venoms it started corrupting him he started to believe his choosing apprentice wasn’t fit for the job and tried prolonging his life which inevitably showed he made the correct choice in apprentice

6:31 I never understand why so many people are confused about Bane's line of sith. Besides the fact Revan, Malak, and Traya-Nihilus-Sion weren't descendants, the Bane line ended with Sidious. Maul, Tyrannus, and Vader were tools, Sidious rejected the rule of two and strove to live forever as the Lord of the Sith.

I always thought Darth Marr would've been their true chosen one but they would be in denial of him, since he achieved enlightenment and became a force ghost, the only sith lord who was never a jedi before or after their deaths and was pragmatic enough to understand both sides of the force by visiting Shateel Shan and having very respectful conversations with her, because he wanted to understand the jedi way and explain himself so she could understand the sith way. Darth Revan could also be a good example, though I feel he fits more in the Jedi idea of the chosen one. He denied the Jedi and the Sith because he hated both of their practices and how they gatekept the force teachings away from the other alien races that were blessed by the force. So he essentially said "Fucked the both of you, I'm not Jedi nor Sith, I'm Revan and I want to bring balance to the force". But with that being said, I can totally see why Darth Bane would be their chosen one, he fits the description of the sith idealist to perfection.

I’d put that right on par with Palpatine taking down 4 Jedi Masters. I don’t know about Bane being the Sithari but he was def a bad ass and one of my favorite Sith.

I was under the impression that it was Darth Malgus. He was the embodiment of what the sith wanted in an individual. He was thought dead twice and kept returning. As well as he was not afraid to tell the dark council what he thought, and even made his own “true sith empire” when he thought the current one was to weak and political.

From what heard the Sith think the force is limited and believe that by limiting the amount of people that have it they can be more powerful because it concentrate the power of the force. That why they had the rule of two and why Sith targeted other Darkside user and other force groups.

James LeDuke The average Sith (not even a Master/Lord) during TOR in general would absolutely dogshit most of the Sith during The New Sith Wars. Among their diverse and weakened ranks were a few alphas but even they'd be hard pressed if forced to deal with a well-trained Sith Warrior or Assassin from the ancient days. It was only when Darth Bane (not a Banite dick rider) brought back true quality into the Sith Order that they closed that gap in power that the ancients flexed on the battlefield and across worlds. Too bad he was hella paranoid about perfection and quality that there were only two dominant Sith in his Order's beliefs. It was a dark miracle that his Order survived with such few members in the shadows and with Jedi numbers growing...

There as never any doubt in my mind that this was anyone else but Darth Bane. He fit all the criteria of the Sith'ari to a tee and without him, Sidious would have probably never rose to power thus destroying the Jedi Order in the end. That, and the real devolution of the Jedi began once his order was established. Everything significant to the sith ruling the galaxy and the destruction of the Jedi order stems from him. Enough said
