1:58 The Death Of Gwen Stacy
2:54 With Great Power Comes...
3:27 How Tobey Saved Tom

6:37 The Future Of The Amazing Spider-man
Ok so Spider-Man No Way Home built upon the last 20 years of the Sony Spider-verse to bring us a film that broke the MCU in order to make one of the biggest events in comic book movie history.
Seeing Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire appear on screen together alongside Tom Holland was something that we never thought could happen but Marvel delivered this massive event to make it the biggest film this side of the pandemic.
I hadn't felt that hyped since Jay-Z and Nas appeared on stage together during the I Declare war tour and it's still something that gives me Goosebumps to this day.
(I know you can feel the magic baby)
What I think that the film excelled at though was giving Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker a much deserved redemption arc. When you hear everything that went on behind the scenes with him it's difficult not to feel sorry for the actor and when he played the character he had several things riding against him.
The Amazing Spider-man released in 2012, just a mere five years after Tobey Maguire appeared as Peter Parker in Spider-man 3. The Amazing Spider-man 2 dropped two years later in 2014 and it would be a mere two years after that in which he was replaced by Tom Holland in a complete reboot of the character.
Garfield was actually due to announce The Amazing Spider-man 3 at a Brazillian Comic Book Movie event but he called in sick and then the project was scrapped. It was only after the Sony Email Hack that we found out Amy Pascal had been in talks with Kevin Feige to reboot the character in the MCU and Garfield's version was swept under the rug by the studio.
Online though there was still a massive community that supported him and just in the same way that The Snyder-cut had several supporters, Garfield did too. Thus seeing him back on the big screen alongside Tobey and Tom was a major moment that not only righted the wrongs of the past but it also showed the growth of the character.

*Peter was able to redeem himself by saving MJ, although his face reflects the pain of what could have been saving Gwen, it is also seen that he was able to overcome it by not allowing it to repeat itself. According to Andrew Garfield, the moment when MJ asks his Spider-Man if *he's* okay was Zendaya's idea, and Garfield said it reflected what a caring person Zendaya is. That made it even more moving, knowing it came straight from her heart, and her seeing MJ as a character that would see the pain on another Peter Parker's face and feel that need to make sure he's alright.

That moment when Garfield's face broke into tears was equally heart wrenching and beautiful.... seriously need more moments like that in Marvel movies... actual stakes and consequences that deliver pay offs later on.... Seeing him as Spider-Man again was truly awesome because he really should've had more of a chance to play him. Whether or not he gets to suit up again, at least his most tragic moment finally came full circle with a beautiful conclusion.

I love how the Toby and Garfield’s Spider-Man being older share their experience to educate the younger Holland. And by saving him they both redeem parts of themselves and their own souls. The same is with by saving and redeeming all the villains it gives everyone a second chance to get it right. Whether those characters carry that on back to their original universes is yet to be determined. If true then for Toby’s Spider-Man that would mean that also should mean that would lead to his best friend not turning and staying his friend and not a villain.

@@alphanerd7221 What banter? In ASM1 Peter behaves more like a dick than anything. His banter isn't clever or quirky. He just comes off as a rude asshole. His first few interactions with Gwen don't even use actual words for dialogue. He just bumbles in speech and she takes charge. In ASM2 the writing just gets worse. They write in Harry as some long time friend despite never once mentioning him before. He immediately goes back on what he ended the first film on putting Gwen through dumb bullshit just cause he sees ghost dad around. The contrived subplot of Peter's parents goes literally nowhere. Peter for some reason goes directly to Harry just to tell him no when he could've just ignored it. Btw the worst written dialogue of these films takes place in this scene where after being denied Spider-Man's blood Harry retorts, "I'm already dying. You're blood can't make me die more." Yes that is a professionally written line of dialogue that made it passed multiple editors and company people as if it were a completely normal way of speaking. There is such a thing as "die more" it's called dead. Simple solution. "I'm already dying. It's not like your blood is going to kill me." Also Electro's character from the beginning of the film is pointless if they were just going to change his personality anyway so he was written so ridiculously for no reason at all. Sorry bud but those films are shit. Love Andrew Garfield but those films really do suck. And look at how well he did with better material.

The writing was great and you don't have any legitimate criticism over it. "Peter had a friend I didn't know about in the first movie." yeah, so? You lose.

I really love that all three Spiders learned something from each other. Both Tobey and Andrew's versions of Spidey learned what it's like to work in a team. Tom's Spidey learned that, with this type of job, he can't save everyone and that he shouldn't be full of rage and revenge. Because if he is then he'll go down the same road that Tobey and Andrew's versions of Spidey went down. Andrew stopped pulling his punches. Tobey caught Uncle Ben's killer. But they weren't happy with the choices they made, so they advised the new Spider to not go down this road by 1. Telling him what it did to them and 2. Physically doing something to help stop him from going down that road. For Andrew, it was saving MJ. In doing this, he redeemed himself. For Tobey, it was saving Gobby *don't yell at me please I gave the Goblin a nickname* from Tom's Spiderman, who was going to kill him. Peter Parker is not supposed to kill anyone. This was a nice scene, and I'm not talking about the one with Andrew though that was beautiful. I'm talking about the one with Tobey. He saved the Green Goblin. He never wanted him to die in Spiderman 1.

I couldn’t agree with you more. A lot of people will say they grew up watching the Raimi movies, but for me, Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man is what started me with my love of superhero movies, Spider-Man and action movies when my dad took me to the Amazing Spider-Man nearly ten years ago. Since then, I’ve become a fan of Marvel and their movies. So I was really happy when Andrew returned to the role of Spider-Man in No Way Home and it’s fair to say that he stole the show with his incredible acting. But his best moment and one of the best in the entire movie was when he saved MJ. They could have had Tom succeed in saving his girl or had Tobey save another falling girl, but instead, they chose to give the moment to the Spider-Man who needed it the most and not only stop the youngest Peter from going down the path he had been on, but redeemed himself which again was something he needed the most. If I could describe that scene in one word, then yeah, I’d say it was perfect. Some people say that they saw it coming and maybe talked or posted about it, but I am so grateful that I didn’t see any of that because it just amazed me even more with the surprise and made the moment even better. I rewatched No Way Home on Sunday and took my dad to it since Spider-Man ended up becoming something so important to me that I wanted to share the experience with him since he basically is the reason I started loving this stuff. People can say Tobey is their favourite because he is the original or Tom because he’s the most relatable, but to me, Andrew will always have a special place within me and I hope he still has many more Spider-Man days ahead of him.

He was longing for MJ's to talk first and said that she was okay. After a while, he felt MJ's movement, that was when Peter brought all the courage to ask MJ's "are you okay". And after MJ ask him back whether he was okay or not, he realized then that he saved MJ, and that brought closure to Andrew's Peter. Even watching that interview shed my tears. What I loved so much about this movie is how grown they showed Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker had become and how wise and calm he is, no longer fidgetting and always trying to take care of the two others and keep them grounded. I love Andrew's Peter Parker redemption because it was the most that mattered. The fact he got to redeem such a traumatic moment in his life and saved Peter from his trauma while trying as much as he can to be helpful and with them, he was so happy no longer being alone and it read in every motion, ever moment he spoke...He finally felt he was safe among these people that he saw them as his own. Tom Holland's Spiderman is just great going through his path but the loss of Aunt Mae hit me hard because of the words " My morality"- how she became the main source of Peter's understanding that Osbourne is not worth saving but not worth killing...that Osbourne had long chosen to give up on his humanity and when Peter was wailing on him, Osborne stabbing Tobey was just proof of this. Unlike Otto who was beyond glad to see Tobey, same with Marko...a familiar face that came from a milder time they existed...Osbourne did not care where he was, he just saw a new place to terrorize and dominate....He's pretty much Joker with Spiderman's strength and the scientific deviousness of Doc Ock....He destroy Peter in hand to hand combat in a way no other villain had ever beaten Peter down before. People were sleeping on Goblin, until he literally reminded people why he was such a force to be reckoned with even physicallyhe was literally Spiderman unhinged without web but a nasty array of bombs and gliders and no one ever tried to touch on this... The second time he comes as Goblin, he is literally using wearing a costume similar to HARRY OSBOURNE but with the Green Goblin signature purple hood. This movie gave us so much ...even how dangerous Strange in a fight and how crazy his fight was with Peter. We are in a great time to be a comic book lover!

I really think Garfield stole the show. While nothing can be taken away from Holland or Maguire, even his funny nod of approval when Ned swears not to become a villain stands out.

Garfield is the best actor out the three. And that make him amazing.

Andrew Garfield is the best Spiderman for me, in terms of the solo movies. the amazing spiderman franchise was left hanging after 2 film and it deserves to be a trilogy. the scene that he saves mj in no way home was my breakthrough moment of the film beside seeing the 3 peter/spiderman all in one shot, that redemption/closure moment was the moment we need even if they dont do a trilogy of the amazing spiderman franchise but after the events of no way home i would rather have the amazing spiderman trilogy include spider gwen rather than a spiderman/venom movie with Andrew Garfield's spiderman. :)

On my first watch of the movie I think this scene actually got a bigger cheer than the appearance of Andrew and Toby lol.
