Amy your hard work filming is not wasted on us. Florence always looks amazing gliding through the water. And the wave motion is always captured so beautifully, to the point where I feel a bit green🤢🤣 You both nailing it. Always excited when I see one of your vids drop.

Get a used car inner tube to solve your mooring issue. When needed, you just inflate with a bicycle pump, pass the mooring line through and leave it on the mooring. It will act as a bumper and protect your hull. I often used 2 and 3 tubes one over the other depending of the mooring shape. I enjoy your videos and your attitude.

Failing that, why not winch the buoy onto the foredeck? (Maybe there's not enough clearance to get it under the pulpit)

THANK YOU! After over 6 years of sailing and filming, you two have become experts! The story that you tell and the footage that you show are some of the best of the sailing channels. Other channels may be more "famous", as they perhaps appeal to a wider demographic, but your videos are definitely higher quality. You DESERVE way more subs to your channel. And.. PLEASE do not stop doing what you are doing. Wherever sailing is going to take you in the future, the skills that you have learning in this your FIRST circumnavigation are going to help you to become even better. I just hope that you can get your own scuba "kit"! The snorkeling bits are nice but I would really love to see what you can do when you can be under water for 30 mins or so. I know that you have been back in "Jolly Old" for some time now but I do look forward to your biweekly adventures! Best to you both. Edit: One thing... PLEASE strap your camera to you or something safe! I cringe every time I see someone holding a camera and NO safety strap around their neck or somewhere.

These guys are above the average professional video producers. I'm laughing about your comment to strap the camera to something. I do quite a bit of photography between crew duties on a race boat. Out in wild conditions I never have a lanyard and have not lost a camera or phone when sailing, until I did. On the dockside, my phone jumped out of my pocket and with one bounce it joined my glasses and sunglasses in 3 metres of water in the marina. The diver charges $100 to get them back and what you get is a non functional brick that looks like a phone.

Still the only channel that I have watched that has managed to capture the beauty of bioluminessence, at night in the Indian Ocean, if my memory serves me. But that aside, just generally high quality footage, and narration.

I appreciate all the work you put into the videos. I also appreciate that your channel isn’t full of bikini booty shots. You two tell a great story, amazing edits and videos! My favorite sailing channel. Zatara is another family I enjoy for the same reason. Too many channels in sailing are geared towards views and will do about anything for them! Thank you again for taking us along.

To stop the incessant mooring ball banging, try a stretchy snubber through your anchor roller. Or, I’ve seen someone use their spinnaker pole like a bowsprit with a stretchy snubber. The snubber is in addition to the normal lines.

Was just wondering if, on your first trip to the Caribbean, you stopped at the island of Dominica? I spent some time there back in 2001 working with a coral restoration company. Being on a boat people tend you go for a wide angle lenses so as to get more into frame. Of course wide angle lenses with their wider angle of view, make the foreground bigger (ie deck and boat), and the background smaller ( sea and waves ).

I wanted to show appreciation to you for the quality of the voyage viewing we've had while hiding in your cockpit for the last 6 years, but didn't want to repeat what every other viewer has been saying for these last 6 years! So I will just say I can't wait to see what will await us in the high lattitudes dodging bergy bits and witnessing calving glaciers up close and personal! I may have to get a new set of foulies if I'm going to sit in my easy chair and get splashed with freezing salt spray! And I DO love your stills that you send out to your $pecial follower$! I always select one or two to post on FB to give you some wider publicity! The rocket launch from Guiana was unique from sailors. I know you plan to leave for the Azores from the Bahamas, but if you check the NASA launch website, you might find a day or night launch that can be seen from the Bahamas!

Hey you two, thanks for the lovely videos! Regarding the mooring: We only have moorings where I live and we don't tie to the top ring, but to the ring below the buoy with a big shackle (to prevent chafing). The lines do have a bit of slack (1-2m) so they act kind of like a shallow anchor. The buoy tends to bang a lot more the higher the stick with the ring at the top is.
@jfr03hl1ch
@jfr03hl1ch Жыл бұрын
oh, and the first link in the chain is often the weakest one since the buoy's ring is constantly rubbing on it. When that's looking really worn, we put the first shackle on a link a bit lower and the other shackle on another lower link.
