I am so thrilled to hear this on prayer, you have no idea how much I needed to hear this. My prayer for my Wife is that God would give her what she needs and that I would know and give her what she needs from me. We have been separated almost four years now. She does things every now and then that let's me know that she cares. I had my days where I could pray that she'd wake up with purple hair and that her drawers would never fit but loving her through it is so much better. God has so much to work with in her and that's a blessing. Focusing on allowing God to work in me while praying for her.

I dont want to boast but in my current situation with my wife there was another in the picture for a day, nothing happened but coffee and I prayed and prayed for God to cutt off all paths and all forms of communication between the 2, and at times out of anger, but rejoiced and gave thanks to God because my wife God angry at me thinking I talked to the other person though I had no idea who it was , but she said that he just disappeared and had not messaged her back at all and ignored her since the day of coffee. And I thank God every day for continued blockages it's been 5 weeks now and every day our situation gets better...

I was all set on calling my husband and laying out my case (again) but I stopped to watch this video.... 10 minutes in he actually called me to discuss his work and how busy he had been. I really like what this video hit on, and will help me during this time of my separation from my husband. But, nowhere in the bible does it permit remarriage. I have been searching and searching in the bible and researching online, and God did not say we have the okay to remarry. He says, either remain single, or reconcile; those are our only 2 choices. Trust me, I'm not saying this to debate, because I wish it were not so, because it seems unfair to the spouse that is actually trying to fight for the marriage. And if the other spouse decides never to come back, then the spouse that wants their marriage is left to be alone. He hates divorce, but allows for separation because of hard hearts, but never once he mentions remarriage.

With all due respect...I generally like Dr. Beam's work...but hold on...We pray for something...but God doesn't answer the way we want, because he knows what is best for us because he has a plan for us...and the reason he doesn't answer our prayer the way we want, is so we can have free will, because he has a plan for us that we don't know about? That really doesn't sound like free will to me. And as an aside, if the last 10 years of loneliness, despair, depression, destruction of my family relationships, and related health problems and income struggles after my wife left have been the best thing for me, then I'm glad I don't know what the worst thing for me is.

He does answer your prayers. I think the confusion comes when people ask the wrong question. Most of the time, i believe what they really mean is "Why hasn't God given me the answer I was looking for? The hard thing for people to accept is that most often, I believe the answer we're given by God is "wait".

Never thought I of all people would post this here. But, if you see this please pray for my wife & I. We had a big fight about 5 wks ago and she took our baby and my stepson to her mamas with her. She won’t talk barely responded to texts & im not even getting to see our child regularly now. Her mother wants to control things and my wife get out of even discussing anything. She went on a tear separating accounts, cost me my health insurance and a lot of money which I don’t care. I regret many things that I said but I regret missing some signals she was letting me know it was bound to happen sooner or later. I just want a chance to do better by her and for God. How about prayer for a family when you've never had one. Wondering if I am to pray after 30 yrs. Used to beg. No answer. Just desolation. I'm praying so much and so hard. I allowed my family to destroy my marriage. I failed miserably to protect my wife and stand by her side against my family. She told me she has NEVER been hurt like that before. She said she doesn't even see me as a husband and that we are just friends. We live separate lives at home like we are roommates. Prayer is for us (like forgiveness), not for someone else. I hear you, I was in the same headspace. In the Lord’s Prayer we pray “God’s will be done”. Pray for your own peace and joy. When we pray for our enemies and bless not curse them, it actually heals and protects us from bitterness and developing a hard heart or block the Holy Spirit.

Why does Paul ask the Romans to pray for him so that God would protect him from the ones in Jerusalem? If God does not intervene in human affairs and the actions of others this prayer is literally useless. Why do we pray for kings and those in authorities... and the list goes on. What you wrote literally makes no sense. Unless, of course I understood you wrong.

What about a spouse that says they have prayed to God about whether they should stay in the marriage, but haven't heard anything from God whether to stay or go? Or that the spouse believes the marriage isn't a covenant relationship because the whole marriage is a sham and I broke our covenant (was unfaithful), and therefore the marriage isn't valid in God's eyes?

Hi Raine, The same things happened to me, my wive is leaving me. She asked God if she should stay and God stayed silent (Its obvious in the Bible, so why would he respond? You don't ask God to rob a store if He is ok with it, right?). Six months into the seperation I was unfaithful (didnt want to, cause I was and am still fighting). But I got the same explanations. That we weren't made for each other and God didn't want us to get married in the first place. Those feelings/lies don't come from God. Marriage is the most closest thing to heaven on earth, because its Gods Nature. He made it, and everything that is valuable to God, Satan attacks. My advice, keep close to God, repent from your mistakes/sins if you havent done allready. Through God I can love my wive still, while she ignores me, treats me like garbage, and put all the blame on me. God strengthens me to be Patiente, Loving and strong for her and the kids. God is fighting for you, if you keep true to Him! Don't give up on God or your marriage, but if you have to choose, choose God!! I will be praying for you!!

If you read the Bible, that’s a good place for God to talk to you and answer some prayers. I kept asking the same thing to God and he kept telling me in scripture to not be afraid because my God will fight for me. I took this as an answer to stay and wait for my God to keep working. Now my husband and I are different better people and are back together. The Lord is Great. Technically, if your spouse wants to leave because you were unfaithful, he can according to scripture. It does not mean your marriage was a scam. But scripture gives him the way out if he wants. But God never is ok with divorce. If there’s a chance to save your marriage, God wants you to fix it.
