Can confirm this is all true. I made the switch to LC/Keto after 20 years of struggling with my weight. Severe pain from arthritis in my hip & knee forced me to try something different. It worked. Lost weight, 95% of the pain gone, appetite under control, maintained for 4 years this Christmas. Thanks to Dr. Gillaspy & many others in the low carb/keto/carnivore space I have my life back. Thanks so much Doc!😘

At 71, all I care about is eating KETO, and choosing what I want to eat to enjoy food. Two meals a day and 18 hours fasting. Four ounces of grass fed hamburger, salmon, pork, chicken, lamb OR liver. I walk as a form of exercise, on daily basis. I drink green tea, herbal tea, Earl Grey tea twice a day with half and half, and I drink water. I eat a small piece of 85% dark chocolate every once in a while. I eat full fat cheese once a day. I add seeds to salad, I eat sauerkraut every day, and I add Bulgarian full fat yogurt and EVOO, olive oil to my salad. I eat KETO approved vegetables. I only eat berries, for fruit. When I "cross the line", I make fried GREEN plantains in avocado oil. I add sea salt to food, or Himalayan salt. NO sweeteners of any sort. == I AM HAPPY AND PLEASED WITH THESE DECISIONS AND FOOD CHOICES...

Thank you Dr Becky I love your game plan and the four clear points. These are fundamental to a daily healthy lifestyle which will sustain us. I have heard varied versions of these over the years from Weight watchers as well as weight loss/nutrition coaches. We begin each day with a choice to live healthy and always remember nothing tastes as good as feeling good feels!! God bless you, thank you for faithfully bringing us this content. Just what I needed today to keep my motivation going and stay on track! 🙏❤️

I am not at my ideal weight but it's not because of overeating. I never overeat because I get nauseous. My problem is I enjoy carbs, so I just cut back on carbs and eat more vegetables. It's working nicely.

Just ordered the lmnt drink and can’t wait to try it. It is more expensive than Dr Bergs electrolyte powder. I get his raspberry lemonade/100 servings for around $45 which is 3 times more than the lmnt. Just wanted to let people know since his is a more affordable option. 😊

I'm a pot head and the eating while stoned is pleasurable beyond all reason. The result is it is difficult to maintain decent weight. Even sticking to zero carb foods there is the calories in-calories out problem. If you eat a whole 1 pound steak that is a lot of calories. Starches or not you will gain weight!

They why 100 years ago we were a trim country? The reason why we are fat today is because we are all addicted to sugar..no “diet” or “work out” or “list” will work until you realize you are an addict ..and get off of sugars..zero sugars..

Get off sugar if you can't eat sugar without binging or over eating which is most of us IMO. After 3 years of no sugar/low carb I am able to add in some honey or maple syrup to my coffee now without any affect on appetite.

Love Dr Becky - but don’t love Keto as a way of eating. I have been eating pescatarian mostly the past several years with some organic chicken. I will try keto once in awhile when i can’t stand living as an obese person. But between the constipation and the pretty well established research of how detrimental consumption of meat is - I fall off keto after just a few days. I seriously cannot be on a meat driven WOE, yet I can’t stand being fat Will have to try some of your suggestions for redirecting away from the refrigerator

I found using psyllium husks with my cereal ( oats and berries+ nuts) at breakfast, created a fullness that made snacking cravings all but disappear and reduced my desire to load my plate. I still enjoy my salad+ fish/eggs for lunch, but not a huge amount. Dinner is simple veg and meat/fish. I still 'argue' with myself about that chocolate after dinner, but even that is almost gone...my 'sweet tooth' has certainly diminished.

I have food issues. Almost everything I eat gives me heart burn so I feel lucky to eat at all. Also, had my gall bladder removed so I have (major) issues with dietary fat. Often experience what I refer to as "bowel emergencies." Not fun. And yes, I've been seeing a gastroenterologist but don't feel like there are any answers; just endure feeling "sick" for the rest of my life.

Can anyone help me with this? Been KETO/IF for 18 months, labs and A1C improved drastically. But no weight loss (about 1600 calories a day), just diagnosed Hashimotos. 3 weeks ago had 2nd midnight low blood suger in the 40s. Doctor insists I add a bedtime snack. In just one week my morning blood suger has gone from 90s to 130s. Almost 200 at bedtime. Increasing insulin not helping. Obviously fasting has gone down from 18/6 to 14/10. Bedtime snacks: 2 oz half and half plus hard boiled egg, or feta and olives, or 1/2 avocado, or tbsp almond butter, or tziki. Doctor had recommended almond butter, 2 saltines and 4 oz skim milk. I'm not doing the crackers or skim milk.

I just discovered this channel and really enjoying the tips so far. I am nowhere near keto but I still find those tips applicable for most people. I have a question tho, I never managed to figure out a clear answer to it. Why do some people manage to be super lean/healthy/athletic on high carb diets. Does this mean low carb isn't for everyone or that they could do even better on low carb. Are they fat adapted...? So many questions
