I uh how do I say this , I eat such messed up mixes of food my stomach can't take it and immediately sends me to the bathroom where i go back to my normal weight, I eat large amount of food once per week I mean it I, eat a man's meal with a 2 children combined meal size once a week and then I barely eat for the rest of the week and same cycle it's just wierd but I'm still healthy!

Also don’t over eat (larger portion) because you have a fear of wasting food or have a fomo relationship with food as well. Those 2 mess me up! Put it away, pack it for later or tomorrow. Nothing is wrong with that

It's the not eating when you're bored that really is the one for me. And you really shouldn't eat while watching TV. Because in the same way that you can mindlessly watch 3 hours of TV you can pack away so much food without even realizing it.

A big thing that helped me a lot was realizing you´ll always will have moments you need comfort food, and that that is okay. You're home late and tired and just want a drink and a snack. You´re watching something after dinner and want a snack with it. You don't want to think for a moment and want a snack because it feels like a reward at a tiresome moment. Or you had an awful day or moment and just want comfort. What helped me was realizing this was okay, it was healthy. What wasn't healthy were the foods I wanted at that moment, and to slowly change what I associated with comfort. I used to want a beer and a bag of chips after I got home, I trained myself to get a cup of tea instead, iced teas in the summer, now I associate tea with comfort. Find good lemonades instead of soft drinks. Get crackers with flavors instead of a bag of chips, or just make a sandwich. This slowly changed in my habit of making too much food for myself in the morning, so I had the rest to eat in the afternoon, when I knew I would get hungry, but it wasn't dinnertime yet. I barely snack anymore. Dieting never helped me, and it made me too fixated on food, it becomes a task. Learning my own habits and changing my comfort foods and drinks was the biggest thing that helped me.

I low key starve myself (not on purpose, I don’t get an appetite until it’s time to go to bed) so I don’t eat until like 6pm and then from 6pm-12am I can eat a little or a lot, depends on how hungry I get throughout the night. When I went to Brazil I was pushed to eat during breakfast, lunch and dinner and it was hard but eventually, my body got used to it and I started eating two salads and two lunches (lunch and dinner over there always starts with salad which I don’t like but idk, the lettuce down there was 🤤🤤 and it made me appreciate my veggies that top it with a little oil, vinegar, salt and pepper and oh hot damn 😻 lol) and sometimes after the two lunches or two dinners, I’d go for a third salad because it was so damn delicious lmao (not going back again for hunger, just for taste lol) but because walking locally was a big thing (compared to my south Florida life of driving even two minutes down the road to go to Walgreens) and I was only in Brazil for 12 days… I LOST 11lbs… 11lbs in less than two weeks!! *Moral of the story: STARVING YOURSELF WILL NOT MAKE YOU SKINNY*

As a brazillian i understand what u said 😂 brazillian food is so delicious, it's hard to resist. But as we have the habit of eating 3 meals a day, it's the most safe way to lose weight. Starving yourself will just crush your metabolism and damage your health

As much as i loveee to agree with this ( i partially agree ) everyone have different bodytype. I'm one of the people that struggling with the yoyo effect. While yes, you shouldn't be over eat yourself. But only eat if you hungry and stop before full, it's not anyone answer. I'm a person that my body never really tell me their hungry ( like my stomach grumbling or staff ) or never really knew I'm full either ( never feeling like throwing up because to full or feel enough food in my stomach). So i always eat "too much" because i never knew where my limit to eat and i became obesse. The biggest advice that i can give people with my type of body, count your calories everytime you eat. Ask/search how many calories can your body take. You can go a little over your calories limit, and when you go out you can enjoy a food that you know you can enjoy ( life to short to not enjoy all the delicious food in the world ) but after that always move, ( go running in the morning, jogging in your backyard, going to the gym, or maybe just taking a walk with your pet ) i guarantee you will never have a yoyo effect anymore ( it takes a long time, like a really long time because this is not like 2-3 month you already skinny, it take 1-2 years to finally see the results that you want it ( I'm used to be 80kg girl, now I'm 50-51kg depend on the day )

what if your body never tells you it's hungry? I tried intuitive eating but i hardly ever got hungry and my parents thought I had an eating disorder because I ate a lot less than normal, and even when I did eat it was because I didn't have a choice, not because I was hungry.

It depends a lot on what you’re eating. If you’re eating calorically dense foods, you’re not going to be a as hungry and that’s okay. Also if you’re not active, you won’t feel hungry as often because you’re not burning anything extra. Stay hydrated, and remind yourself to consider a snack every once in a while. But ultimately, if you’re not hungry then you probably don’t need to eat.

Something to keep in mind is a lot of people who are neurodivergent have trouble with something called interoception, aka your body is not good at communicating needs or feelings with your brain. Feelings of being hungry, full, cold, hot, tired, etc are all part of interoception so when that doesn't work properly, it can be really hard to tell what your body needs and when. Setting specific times for eating meals will help, or at least specific amounts of time between meals if you dont have a lot of structure in your day to day. For example I try not to go any more than 6 hours between meals, partly because I am also diabetic and if I wait too long to eat my blood sugar tanks.

There's fat shaming and then there's skinny shaming too, which ppl don't realize. I am tired of being too skinny even tho I eat ample amount. This insecurity would never leave me unless I gain some weight.

Its hard, this intuitive eating thing, because of how food culture works in my country. In majority of Indonesian households normal to share a meal in one table. Not sharing what you eat would be seen as incredibly selfish. My body craves fiber and protein like crazy, especially fish and fruits. In college I lost an averag of 6kg per year cuz I loaded up my body with protein and fiber. When I went back home, however, I gained 15kg throughout the Covid years. I tried to diet specifically, buy my own ingredient for diet and cook my own portion of my meal, but my Mom, Dad, Siblings would just gobble everything up! Even till the last bite! and they would be mad at me if I didn't share what I cook. Like, hella mad to the point of having a shouting match and saying what ungrateful and unfilial child I was. Me not eating enough of my protein and fiber intake makes my body crave too much food and sugar. I tried to talk to them but they don't want to listen. Getting my own place is not an option cuz I'm tight on money. So yeah, intuitive dieting is HARD. Especially if you live in a crowded household.

as a binge eater who's been in recovery for over a year now, restricting and being more mindful of what i eat was key. from 6-10k calories a day to around 1.6-2.5k (i know it's to little even for a hardly active 1.60m (~5'3) 20 years old) i lost around 20kgs (~ around 44lbs) in under a year. i was approaching my dream body. then my fibromyalgia, depression and c-ptsd got worse again and now i'm struggling with eating too much, moving less and weight gain again.

This is the kind of situation that is best addressed through in-depth conversations with your physician and a dietician, to guage your health and create manageable eating plans. If you can't access either, then I hope in time you can find free/community resources and care toward that end, as I've had to. My point is, when it comes to specific goals like yours, advice from influencers/content creators is often counterproductive and even potentially harmful.

Take a look at what has changed in your diet. Are you eating more? Is what you are eating different? What are you drinking? The amount of empty calories that you consume through what you drink adds up very quickly. Also I want you to stop and think if this change if healthy are not. Sometimes weight gain can be a positive, did you gain muscle? If you truly wish to lose weight and stay healthy be consistent. Water, unsweetened tea, and lots of vegetables. Also don't completely remove carbs! Balance is key.

That's...horrible advice lol. Some people just have black holes for a stomach, eating way more than they burn without feeling like it. Also starvation is not the same as being hungry, you can absolutely survive not immediately eating something when you feel the slightest bit of hunger. Sometimes you do have to watch your calories and make your portions smaller, even if that doesn't make you completely full.
