Get dat money... Progression of most starters.. Various kickflips in a catchy upbeat montage. Dropping specifics about what he did wrong and what helped (Foot placement, backseat, kick forward, back foot catch, jump high, square shoulders.) The humble one understand the physics of skating. Outro Montage of kickflips. Personal, i struggled with kick flip for long time because opening my shoulders and putting too much pressure on my toes causing the board to go behind. Also, good to see you are back and safe. Remember Retro Oreo Zip up hoodie coming soon, so you can remember the good old days.

Good point about leveling out the board. I think this is one of the most confusing things about the whole 'never flick down' thing you keep hearing. In my experience there's plenty of possibility to land a kickflip when you flick down 'the right way'. It obviously still holds true that you can't land the kickflip if your flick foot lands on the ground before the board does. But with the right timing, doing a flick when still going up in terms of the overall jump, you definitely can do a drag forward that slopes down at the end. It probably doesn't have to be much, as flick straight forward (not up, not down), also levels out the kickflip quite a bit. I haven't landed a kickflip yet though, but am so freaking close the trick is starting to make more and more sense to me now.

Been skating for around 17 years and yesterday was one of my first proper days out skating. My kickflips sucked and didn't exist. This is a great video to help just some of the ideas in it are great for practise. Having your foot more square on the board and flicking forward I would say are very valuable tips. And is something I usually do when I think about it but I often land ahead as well and put my foot anywhere and don't think. So this was great. Thanks

Jamonebuck I landed primo really hard but I fell properly so I was ok. My biggest fear rn is when I learn to go to primo because I want to do freestyle
@PHeMoX4 жыл бұрын
@@skatexgarrett_soderstrom8362 If you keep your knees bend when landing, landing primo isn't going to be all that bad (at least, when stationary). I too have been trying some basic freestyle stuff and it helps a lot with dealing with this fear to try the basic primo stand stuff. Maybe even get flipping it a quarter flip way back to normal from primo and land it, is going to do a lot to dealing with fear. The other thing that could help in a massive way is getting a good insole (Footprint Kingfoam Elite), at that point it won't hurt nearly as much.

There’s a lot of channels such as Braille that really don’t go super in depth about this stuff. I’ve found two channels that are the best at breaking this stuff down. Braille does not really do that. For instance I was trying to learn an Ollie and I kept getting rocketed ollies, I became frustrated that they were rocketed. Once I watched Dales channel. I instantly got the flick of your foot and everything. My ollies have become way better after the troubleshooting and now only watch Braille for their fun stuff and not their trick how to’s.

The last part about theory, people always talk about how a bigspin should look sorta like a impossible with the scoop. When i do it, its just a pop shuvit and a backside 180, same with halfcab flips, i do throw my shoulders like a halfcab and do a kickflip. No matter where i am in the rotation i perform the kickflip and catch it wherever I am, and continue the rest of the way. So if you can do them tricks you can easily do the harder bigspin and halfcab flip. But most people dont think about the minor details. Or how the board reacts when popped from different spots. If you know how the board reacts you can manipulate it to do what you want and can expect it.

You go over a lot of things that I've never seen in other kickflip tutorial videos.
