Wicked x Adventure Time Animatic

The Midterm for my intermediate Storyboarding class. We were to choose a musical song and any established group of characters to then create a story around. I chose to do a bit of an Adventure Time fan fiction, before the land of Ooo was fully established and the Ice King just went mad, leaving Marcy to find an escape from the troubles of her current situation.

When Marceline is flying over statues and buildings, it was much smoother that I think a lot of love was given to that scene. This is a great animatic and you've told the story so well on Bubblegum's reason for staying, Marceline's reason to have stayed but left instead.

This animatic was posted 5 days after "Evergreen", Episode 24 of Season 6 premiered. This was roughly 10 months before the "Stakes" miniseries debuted, and a great deal of Marcy & PB's backstories had yet to be revealed. This animatic was... Pretty prescient, in a lot of its tone and characterization, on top of having some incredibly well-animated sequences. Props to the creator for not only their considerable artistic talent, but also their foresight in regards to the development of these characters and their place in Ooo!

THIS IS AMAZING! The expressions, the timing, the use of the mythos, the looming presences of the Ice King through his castle even though he never appeared, the FLYING! Oh my god that animation at the end was STELLAR, I ADORED the Gurren Lagan reference! So well used! Glad I found it, thanks for posting, it deserves SO MANY MORE VIEWS!

I think some of the surfing bits are from Treasure Planet, and I can tell that some of the animation stuff has to be callbacks to many animated works beforehand! And yet, this stands to line them together seamlessly into a beautiful work of art on its own. Kudos to Kevin for bringing it all together
