Yeah I doubt she is in military. Her excuses made no sense. Typically GI bill helps pay after you're deployed or service. You don't just languish in military go to school then go to basic.

As someone who grew up with a parent that was a pathological liar, this does not end and it doesn’t get better. She’s not capable of telling the truth. These folks live in their own worlds and believe their own lies. I can guarantee there is so much more you don’t know, and 99.9% of what she’s told you is a half truth or a whole lie. I don’t advocate for divorce but, this isn’t a healthy relationship or a healthy environment to raise a family. I can talk for hours about the effects this has on the kids, my sisters and I still deal with stuff and we’re grown. Respect and love yourself enough to take your daughter and run!

To each their own, but I think that viewpoint lacks empathy and assumes that we’re better than people that are genuinely hurting. Clearly this guy is on the brink of losing everything. Stuttering is very common in traumatized, troubled and individuals that deal with PTSD. Surely you wouldn’t critique a veteran, kidnapping survivor or someone who was mentally abused their entire life simply because they stutter while they talk to someone of “socially elevated status” would you?

Wow. I thought I was the only one this happened to. My ex boyfriend lied to me for 2 years about going to college. I found out through snooping (bad, I know) that it was all an act. The “ditching class” to hang out with me, the “writing papers”, the late night “study sessions” at friends houses. It was all a lie. Took me two years to figure that out 😳

I don't know these people but it doesn't take a psychologist to know that both parties have some damage. Him for believing the lies he knows are lies and still not wanting to acknowledge it. Her for being what sounds like a pathological liar. I guarantee she's cheated on you. You have to start asking the hard questions. If she wasn't in school where was she spending all her time? Did she pay for school? If so, was there money coming in that now is unexplained? I don't know how any reasonable person can trust her again. I think you're in denial about the loss of this relationship. Like many others have said, GET A PATERNITY TEST! Sprint away if it comes back as not yours!! Get a lawyer and don't look back.

The fact that he was unable to see through the lies early on and did absolutely nothing once he did for so long, is incredible. It’s going to be very tough band-aid to rip off but I think he knows what he should do. She is living a double life and there is almost certainly another man in the mix somewhere. If she is actually telling the truth about going to basic training, he should use that as an opportunity to plan an exit strategy without her manipulative influence being in the picture.

Women use birth control pills, IUDs, & diaphragms, all of which are a fair amount of trouble. I remember those contraceptive sponges, and that they could cause infections that may become septic. Condoms don’t require any invasion of men’s bodies, and they’re inexpensive & easy to use. If they would consistently use condoms, it would decrease the risk women face from their contraceptives. It would be a simple fix for preventing pregnancy and STDs. Why can they not do this one thing for us?

Saying you are staying for the child is a fall back excuse, what you are really meaning is you are not ready to call it quits. I promise you that that's not all she has kept from you. It depends on the branch because when I went (army) it was called basic training in 2016 My husband went in 2017 in the marine corps and it was called boot camp BMT is Air Force.

I dont tell anyone that I am taking classes while working a full time job and with two little kids. Less pressure when no one knew. On my own paste, at my own time. Sometimes it's hard to explain why any of us put up with a lying spouse. I knew something was "off" for about 10 years and asked what was wrong but got the runaround. Just like this guy, I felt like I should believe him. Some people are pathological liars so it's tough to know unless you own a fricken lie detector.

I have a friend who dropped out of USC after the first year, he was holding tuition money in his account and used 7500 of it to open a business, he actually owns the second largest florist company in the world now, he was ashamed and afraid of telling his parents he couldn’t hang in college and wasn’t his dream. He repaid every amount he took before they even knew and bought them a 4 million home here in Los Angeles…some say he’s a thief and for me unfortunately I’m not sure it’s that simple.
