UPDATE: I have recently upgraded to dolphin 5.0 and they have fixed it. You should now just be able to turn continuous scanning on and connect remotes, assuming Bluetooth is already on and you have emulate the wii motes adapter on. If you are on earlier versions though still give this a try!

Works in 2024. Details: works on Windows, but not on Mac. Doesn't work on first tries, takes about 10 tries or so. Also, one needs to run a game (ISO) for it to work.

i have been trying to figure out how to do this for so long, going through so many programs like WiinUPro, WiinUSoft, Zadig, different codes, etc. This is the ONE thing that worked, and motion controls included. you're a lifesaver, thank you.

When I would click join a personal area network it would take me back to the windows 11 Devices page. I found a work around by going to Device Manager opening Printer Properties, moving to the settings and clicking Device and Printers Folder. This led me to the page that is shown after you click join personal network area in the video. Awesome video!!

Thanks this was quick and easy 1 minute fix! Yes, the wii sensor bar. It works backwards compared to a tv remote. You need a source that emits out infrared lights. Space it out correctly and your good to go. The wii sensor bar works correctly, even if plugged into a wii or other power source. Interestinly, also candles emit infrared light, so this also works. 2 infrared lights also work.

I can confirm that I managed to connect a real remote to the PC, using Dolphin 5.0-19368 and an Asus USB BT400 bluetooth device. It wasn't as fast as shown in the video, but it was the only way I was able to connect after a lot of frustration with Windows and PIN codes. I confirm that the tip still works in 2023. @@six1nyne You need to insist with the controller's pairing mode while disabling, enabling, and updating Dolphin's continuous scan. Always wait a few seconds whenever you update the emulator scan.

@@wiiztec doesn't continuous scanning mean its always refreshing? It's been a while since I used dolphin now so I might not remember the specifics of the trick, but it should work regardless of if you refresh manually or continuously. Sorry if this doesn't help. Good luck to you.

Although this tutorial was not my problem, it still fully worked. TIPPS FOR EVERYONE: official nintendo controllers will 99.99% work all of the time, all of my custom controllers that are not from nintendo like never work. in dolphin, use continuous scanning.

Get the Mayflash Sensor Bar on AliExpress (got mine there with coupons, $19). The sensor bar plugs into your devices usb port and it uses it's bluetooth device to pair to your computer as well as pairing with the bar itself and with your wii remote (you hit the red pair button inside the battery compartment). Boom, stable wiimote connection.

Tested this method and it actually works, thanks! The only issue is that every time you switch the wii remote off and turn it back on, it doesn't automatically pair, to fix this, all you have to do is: in dolphin version 5's controller settings make sure "continues scanning" is always checked then after turning on wii remote, press and hold buttons 1 and 2 together for couple seconds, release the buttons and in about 10 seconds you will feel the control vibrate and it will be paired.

On laptop restart, have to do it again. Once connected, the remote stays connected even if you close current game (ISO) and start another one. Tip: Dolphin is so much better than the AV2HDMI cable which has very bad image quality. I'm using my real wii just to power the sensor bar though, since it has that odd port.

Can't seem to get this to work at all. The built in Bluetooth on my PC doesn't even recognize my Wiimotes anymore but it did previously in the past. I had to buy a Bluetooth Adapter Dongle (TP-Link USB Adapter Dongle 4.0 to be specific) to see if it could detect my Wiimotes. It does, but it asks for the PIN code. 0000, 1111, & 1234 and still won't pair. Using Dolphin 5.0 I don't have the option to "Refresh" when "Continuously Scan" is enabled either, only when it's disabled. Even then hitting 1+2 and hitting refresh doesn't connect it. Windows 10's Bluetooth Settings doesn't even pick up my Wiimote is trying to pair which doesn't make any sense since I was once again able to pair them in the past without zero problems. Not sure if the recent Windows 10 update has something to do with this as well but as of right now, I'm out of options. I heard the newer Wiimote models require you to hit and hold the red sync button in the Controller Settings of Dolphin but my models are not those.

@Guest Never found a solution on my end unfortunately. Built a new PC couple months back and pairing was working just fine. Safe to say that the problem was on my old PC’s end. Probably the bluetooth was on it’s last legs or some part of it crapped out, no longer allowing me to sync my Wiimotes with it
