The Wilcox RAID-XE has been a long awaited laser aiming device from Wilcox Industries. The RAID-XE is the next iteration to the previous RAID-X. In this video we do an initial unboxing and first impressions. It is important to understand this is simply an unboxing and initial impression. We will do an in depth testing of this product and do a formal overview video on a future date.

*Edit: The reason the output difference in the visible spectrum is because green lasers are easier for the human eye to pick up and do not have to be as bright as a red laser diode to achieve the same affect. Do to the candidness of this video we wanted to clarify*

I would recommend getting some up close B footage and re-editing this. Truthfully this is no different than having a written review just read out loud.

Buy a better mic or broadcast your voice more. Very difficult to hear on max volume.

Hear me out: what if they make the large windage adjustment knob smaller, move it to the left (just above the mode selection dial), and put the firing button right over where the windage knob used to be? That will make firing button easier to reach, help with a better grip, and free up the bottom right space once occupied by the firing button for another button (or a slide lever to adjust the throw, like on the OGL, to replace the turning knob on current RAID XE). This second button / lever can be customized for different functions (programability is Raid XE's strong suit anyway), maybe set it up like the 2 firing buttons on the MAWL, or use it for white light (maybe with a cable that hooks white light to RAID XE). I'm being too imaginative with the second firing button, but the bottom line is that we can improve upon the ergonomics by moving the firing button to a control location, at the cost of a smaller windage knob. EDIT: or instead of the second firing button, we can move the throw adjustment knob there. I'd image that can make for some fast adjustment of throw.

Do you guys see anymore civ lasers coming to market now that the atpial-c has been discontinued in the 1200-1600 dollar range? The dbal a3 is really the only option anymore or the d2. Obviously there’s crap like holosuns out there. Just trying to find more affordable options

Only thing I dont really care for is the increased width at the front due to the swivel for the lens cover, I much prefer the old lens cover but I understand why they got rid of it and thats because the locking ring for it would create a sillouhette. That being said it seems to be an improvement over the old gen with the new pressure switch plug. Its no secret that crane style laser plugs can be hot garbo.
