I saw a story of how Mike Tyson tried to get the zookeepers to open the cage to let him fight a gorilla. That just shows how egotistical us humans are when it comes to comparing ability to animals. To THINK that you have the slightest chance of beating up a gorilla is beyond ignorant. One swipe to the head and you can cancel Christmas

@Thou Swell Mike's strength is probably not close to a chimps strength but not far either, he has good agility but not as good as the chimp, his bite force is strong enough to tear yo ears off with ease but not as good as the chimp, he's crazy but not crazy enough. His only weapon is his punch power which would really hurt a chimp ( + steel knuckles, because why not ). Mike wins 6/10 while chimp wins 7/10. Chimps weapon is their bite so b4 the chimp could bite mike, it would get punch. But yes adult angry chimp has more chance winning, Because of it being more vicious

There is 1 known man that has beaten a Gorilla in a fight. He was small in stature, wore red overalls and was a plumber by trade. He outsmarted an angry giant gorilla throwing barrels at him. His name was Mario. Thanks to him, humanity is safe from this giant gorilla known as Donkey Kong.

Nope. No registered Gorilla in good standing has reached 550 pounds or 250 kilos. Only obese and fat specimens in captivity. The largest healthy gorillas rarely reach 210 kilos. Someone with 100 kg weight could lift roughly 1000 kg, enough to fully lift an entire car, albeit barely, which weights roughly 1300 kg, and the man who performed the heaviest deadlift, julius bjornsson, could lift 2.05 tons at the time of his deadlift, over 4x his actual deadlift. While all the things about the diet and his muscles are true, the very foundation of the gorillas strength is his bone size and structure. I stood once in a museum and there was a human skeleton nearby a gorilla skeleton. One of the major misconception is we think about size either in terms of body height or in terms of mass (in flesh), but the truth is, the bones of the gorilla are massively big! At least 2-3 times the circumfrance of the human bones, which allows him to have much bigger sinews and therefore build up bigger muscles too. And his muscles of course are not only big, but due to its wild lifestyle the meat is red and allows for more oxygen to be carried. I think a silverback is far stronger than 4 times average human male. Its proven that even a chimp is far stronger than a man
@souldesire5932
@souldesire5932 Жыл бұрын
I think that's why Wilt Chaimberlan was so strong. It wasn't the outward fleshly muscles, although of course they matter. But the overall skeleton and bone density that made him so strong. Same with other species, it's not so much the muscles, although the fibers can work differently, but the skeletal structure and density.

@@souldesire5932 Yes, although this is pretty obvious, everybody overlooks this. The muscle quality though as you said is very important too for sure. Those wild animals have totally different muscles than any domesticated species inlcuding the human. Many years ago, I saw a TV show about the strength of a Gorilla. It was at The San Diego Zoo. There was an automotive spring welded to a steel plate. They welded a steel handle to the spring and bolted it to the wall in the Gorilla's compound. A local strong man tried to pull that spring and couldn't budge it. They let the Gorilla out and in no time, he found a new plaything. He stood flatfooted and with his right arm pulled that spring across his mighty chest. ONE PULL and the spring was ruined. I believe the word is 'flaccid'. It just sort of hung there---ruined---the Gorilla got bored and went over to the other side of the compound and started twisting car tires into figure '8's'. Gorillas could absolutely tear your head off of your body!

I watched human surgeons operate on a gorilla with an abdominal abscess (large mammal vets have very little experience operating on gorilla's abdomen's). The patient was a 10 year old female, who was only about 170 pounds'; not that dissimilar to a human male. The amazing thing about the surgery, was that the surgeons kept incising deeper expecting to encounter the abdominal cavity, but there was just layer upon layer of muscle. The actual abdominal cavity was the size of a child's, but there was about 3-4x thicker muscle, encasing and protecting her. I can only imagine what a 400 pound silver' back's musculature is like.

Well, it’s because their muscles work slightly differently from ours. Putting aside the pure density, the muscles of gorillas and chimpanzees activate in FAR greater percentages as compared to humans. This makes them very strong, but also reduces their coordination: human hands are better for fine, careful movement. And that makes sense; that’s kind of our whole shtick, instead of beating something to death we would just make a sharp-stone tipped spear and throw it at our target

@@yunggpacino - Gorilla Genus of large African apes For other uses, see Gorilla (disambiguation). “Blackback” and “Silverback” redirect here. For other uses, see Blackback (disambiguation) and Silverback (disambiguation). Not to be confused with Guerrilla. Gorillas are herbivorous, predominantly ground-dwelling great apes that inhabit the tropical forests of equatorial Africa. The genus Gorilla is divided into two species: the eastern gorilla and the western gorilla, and either four or five subspecies. The DNA of gorillas is highly similar to that of humans, from 95 to 99% depending on what is included, and they are the next closest living relatives to humans after chimpanzees and bonobos. Bodybuilding and powerlifting require different body. Generally (nothing 100%) power lifters need short limbs and a long torso, while bodybuilders need long limbs and a shorter torso. Also, bodybuilders look a lot better if they have small joints (makes the muscles between look bigger). Which is exactly what you don't want to powerlift. Different goals.

This is absolutely true! Back about 1969, a traveling carnival came to town. It featured genuine gorilla wresting. Men tried to wrestle gorillas that weighed 105 or 112 pounds. I got to see two of the wrestling matches. Neither match lasted even 30 seconds before the humans backed out. With those long gorilla arms, no one get close to the gorillas.

@@Kaiju-bm4ts I totally agree but at the same time the movie did kinda set Kong up for his inevitable beat down at the claws of Godzilla. I mean they drugged Kong and then chaining him up on a boat in the middle of the ocean just to get nearly drowned by Godzilla. Yeah Kong was very unexpirenced with fighting a titain of Godzilla's power so he struggled a little but it really does take some balls to square up with a Plazma Breathing Crocodile (which is probably how Kong sees Godzilla). Kong was the underdog while Godzilla was the misunderstood villain/hero, but this movie did shine more light on Kong's personality traits humanizing him which made me more of a fan of the big gorilla.

fun fact: If a If a 100 kg human had the relative strength of a gorilla, which is 10x their body weight, they could fully lift an entire car, which weights roughly 1300 kg. Imagine a guy like mike tyson with that kind of strength.

@@MikeHunt-fo3ow Yes, a grizzly would indeed defeat a gorilla but not without a fight. If gorilla manages to bite the grizzly, then it would be able to tear a piece of flesh through the thick fur. But after that the grizzly will swipe with the deadly claws and seriously injure the gorilla. Gorilla would not die without atleast hurting the grizzly.

The reason gorillas are strong is because they have to be to survive. Their genetics are as such, and that two percent difference in DNA equates to a lot more variation than you'd think in comparison with humans.

Why are people laughing about Kane being held up as an example of one of the strongest humans? He certainly is that. He may not be THE strongest person out there, but he is easily top 1%, probably top .1%. Doesn't that make him a good example?

I don't think people are disrespecting Kane's strength, he's undoubtedly a strong SOB and truly a beast, I think it's just the randomness of choosing Kane as the representative for strong humans. It's like saying that Vince McMahon is the representative for intelligent people, it's not technically wrong, it's just a random choice.
