If they truly want to get back with you they should be able to swallow their pride and apologize and admit that they were wrong. When I think about the wrong things and mean things she said to me it doesn't make sense for me to help her to formulate an effective apology and expression of her wanting to get back with me. I kind of disagree with this coach here. This love has to be earned and the dumpee should have standards. We've Both agreed it's a constant work, from both sides. With me being the "one that was broken up with", I've decided the best approach for Me was to go slow, alert, never give Too much, just yet, of myself and create a certain "balance" with what I'm giving to what I'm receiving. If I feel, at any point, that I'm giving alittle too much or approaching more frequently than my partner, I slow down, pull back, regroup and allow him to come to me alittle more. I have to be aware of that balance always, for now, since it's still new and allow to see where this relationship goes. It might not be correct for everyone, but it's working for me at the moment. In case anyone is wondering...stay with it. Today is day 84 for me (thank you Google calendar) and out of the blue a flurry of messages and a long phone call. She has insisted on seeing me tonight, for no obvious reason....we spoke about everything so there is no reason for us to be in the same place. With my ex, she’s been reaching out to me everyday of nc, I finally told her it’s not fair to me that she broke up with me, and keeps texting how she misses me, but it’s only crumbs. When your wife leaves you for a sudden and catastrophic disability and tells you that she wants to move on then you have to deal with the sudden illness or injury plus the marriage ending it makes a person extremely strong. Then later once you conquer that disability and perhaps heal from the injuries that person comes crawling back begging at that moment it is up to you to forgive that person or take them back I chose to not take her back. I cannot tell you how many times I listen to this genius talk throughout the night while my phone sit by my pillow and it help me forget about all the trauma that I was put through and gave me peace and calm God bless you sir

I agree with what you are saying. However I believe that it all depends on the circumstances. My Ex Girlfriend had abandoned me because I found out that she cheated on me. She contacted me 2 months later and wanted to reconcile. I took her back but I broke up with her 2 days later because she abandoned me without contacting me which tells me that she wasn't too concerned about my feelings. She had sex with another man. So you can't love someone if they have broken the bond of trust. I don't think that she was prepared for the rejection. I miss her very much but I need to have my integrity and move forward. One of my biggest faults if you can call it a fault is how many times do I keep going backwards and forwards with my Ex before I have the confidence to say "enough is enough" when he gets in touch again? It's been 2 months since I broke up with my ex. I figured since it is a new year I will say hello and apologize for the way I approached the issue that blindsided him. I didn't want to get back together as it was a long distance relationship. I texted him and he called back a few hours later. I was glad he was doing ok. I mentioned that I just wanted to wish him a happy new year and apologize from my side. He was extremely upbeat and one of the first things he said that he missed me etc. It took me by surprise but I didn't say that I missed him. I needed for him to calm down so I could say happy new year etc. Later in the conversation he said he never said he wanted to marry me and long distance relationships are hard etc. I'm thinking where is this coming from. It's like he was letting trying really hard to hurt me for some reason. Still upbeat, he wants me to come there once he gets his business started this year. Geesh! He was all over the place with this conversation. The conversation ended by me saying I would be in his area later this month to visit my gravely ill aunt. He asked to see me. I said I wouldn't be able to. He is keen on the idea of me being in his area and I shouldn't leave there without seeing him. I shouldn't have mentioned this to him so I am not pressured. I will have riders so that will be my excuse. Wondering why would he say those things but bringing up the good times and his desire for me. Also wanting me to be there to support when he open his business. I've gotten stronger but I cannot get caught in his web again. I'm having very tough days and cry a lot. I miss him, but on the other hand I hate him, because of the way he hurt me, without any remorse. He was cruel. My biggest mistake was I invested too much in our relationship and forgot about my needs. So I was not attractive to him anymore, as he pointed all my mistakes. He wasn't perfect either, but I don't remove people easily, but always try to talk. He broke up 6 weeks ago. Meanwhile sent several breadcrumbs, he is not really interested if I'm doing fine, doesn't ask about my life. He is just focused on himself. I'm sure he will not come back... I find challenging others a little is helpful is they have trouble carrying a conversation. My mom was like that. If they respond with things such as “I’m ok,” “I don’t know,” etc., ask them “What has happened?” , or “Why are you ok ?”, or “ Why don’t you know how you’re doing?” Some people don’t know how to open up.

I did just that. After a couple of small contacts she asked me to meet for a beer. Meeting went well. We hugged and kissed,told each other how much we loved each other. 2 hours into the date she told me she’ll never trust me again. I ended the date right then walked her to her car and said my goodbyes. I told her not to contact me unless it’s to get back together. She continued to send me text messages after a couple of weeks asking me about my kids and small talk. I reconfirmed with her not to text me with chitchat and that I’ve moved on. I hope I did the right thing. I want her back so bad.

I need encouragement! 😭 I’m on day 3 of NC and he’s the type to ask me if I’m okay he’s the type to ask if we want to be friends but still nothing! "I trust him but I don't trust other people" is BS and you know that very well. What don't you trust about other people? That they'll drug him or kill him or rape him? No, you just think someone will show him interest and he'll not resist it, you think his mind will drift away from you in this new environment with new people, so it is really him that you don't trust. If you trusted him you'd know even if he was in a room full of naked girls he'd just walk away, or you would know that he wouldn't put himself into that situation in the first place, that he wouldn't allow himself to get attached to anyone else emotionally either. By the way, it is okay to have those doubts, people often do change when they get into a new phase in their life. But you cannot stop it by smothering him. If anything, you'll push him into where you are afraid he'll end up going.

The thing is there's other factors that play into reaching out. In some cases it works in the favour of the dumpee to reach out if the dumper hasn't been in contact. My ex cheated lied broke my heart. I left him, shocked by his betrayal and deceit. If he wanted any chance of ever getting me back he'd have a lot of work to do. No contact to me in my situation looks like a boy who's running away and never valued the relationship enough to try. The longer he leaves it the more comfortable I become in my life without him, the more I've processed my feelings and moved on. I broke up with him but in these circumstances choosing no contact is self sabotage for my ex. But. If he's decided straight up to move on it's easier faster for both of us this way.

She contacted me on day one to tell me it was difficult to handle my absence. I was working, I had to drive to another jobsite so I told her I had to drive. The conversation faded (text) The second time happened about a week later. She asked if I was ok, if I was ok with the new home. Then she told me that I forgot some summer clothing and my all season tires there ( I had no way to bring them when I moved) I asked her to send everything to me. She reached out to me on our anniversary date on the 10th of this month, just checking up on me seeing if I was okay and saying she wished me well because it was a special day for us if we were still together. I acted nonchalant and cool and kept everything light and short. She then contacted me two days after saying she was really missing me and sent me a bunch of photos of me and her together, again I kept it light and short, never saying I missed her back, and told her I had some other things to do and acted busy and the cut the convo short.. the last message she sent was of a sad puppy dog saying that "thats me right now" I continued no contact after that and 5 days later she commented on a snapchat I had posted saying that I looked cute. I didnt respond. It's been almost two weeks now since we've talked and she hasn't reached out again, I see her out having a great time hanging out with other guys and having fun and what not. Is it too late? Did I mess up? Should I reach out now? What do I say?

I had a woman dump me to go back to her emotionally abusive ex. I broke off all contact with her, six months later she attempted to reach out to me asking me to be her "friend".
