Warning - important message, please read carefully:
The breathing exercise has a profound effect and should be practiced in the way it is explained. Always do the breathing exercise in a safe environment (e.g. sitting on a couch/floor) and unforced.
Never practice the exercises before or during diving, driving, swimming, taking a bath or in any other environment/place where should you pass out, a serious injury could occur. Wim Hof breathing may cause tingling sensations and/or lightheadedness. If you’ve fainted, it means that you went too far. Take a step back next time.
The cold is a powerful force. We strongly advise to gradually build up exposing yourself to the cold. Always train without force and listen to your body carefully. If it is not practiced responsible, there is a risk of hypothermia.
Do not practice the method during pregnancy or when having epilepsy. Persons with cardiovascular health issues, or any other (serious) health conditions, should always consult a medical doctor before starting with the Wim Hof Method.

i love how Wim doesnt allow to make him a Guru ,,by stating EXACTLY what it is he is doing ,and is all about giving the control to the individuual, only act as co-driver. and not create dependancy on him . and above all ,i like how REAL he is ,without any pretence or ego involved.

I respect him cause he is not fake .. You know many fakers in earth ..and then if its a indian doing it he will claim yoga ,yoga ,..any person can develop any concept ..great concept on breathing he has made . Those eastern countries also hav eemphasis on this sort of breathing technique ..and many ways fakers will undermine things..

That's because this has nothing to do with the the ego, transcending the ego is not about holding your breath but being spiritually and physically aware of what you truly are and how your experience relates to it

That's awesome. I'm planning on using this for whenever I finally get covid. How many times per day did you do the breathing? Did you use any other parts of the method in conjunction with it, like the mindset meditation or cold exposure?

@@beerhistory Just did once a day for 2 days about an hour after I got up. 30 slow deep breaths and hold, then repeat. I could hold only half as long as before I got sick. That's understandable, lungs were weak from the illness. Didn't push or force, just did what was comfortable. On the third day, I felt good, all symptoms gone except for some coughing. For the next few weeks, I took several slow deep breaths several times a day, which always feels good. I did do meditation daily to calm myself and to manifest complete healing for myself, as I was nervous from all the scare-mongering MSM news. At that point, early February, there wasn't much data from alternative media out yet. I was also taking daily Vit C (Ester-C) 1000mg, Zinc 25mg, CLO 3000mg and 40,000iu garlic oil capsules 3 times a day. Which helped a lot too. No cold showers as I didn't want to stress my body further. But I think that's an excellent thing to do normally, to turbo-charge one's immunity. I have done the breathing and manifestation together whenever I get under the weather - sore throat, fever, headache, stomach ache, aches & pains - and it always works. The next day, pain's gone and I feel great!

I just found out about Wim Hof last week and am amazed at what he can do. For the last 4 days I have been doing the breathing exercises for 3 rounds before getting into an ice cold shower. The first day in the shower was awful and I only made it 30 seconds. Now, only on my fourth day I can stay in the shower for more than 2 minutes. The cold shock is still there in the beginning but you start to embrace the cold water and it doesn't feel cold anymore. When I get out of the shower I feel simply incredible. This man is a genius. I just ordered the book about him called "What Doesn't Kill You" and can't wait for it to arrive in 2 days.

Be more precise. In yoga, there are, also, breathing exercises with breath stopping. What's the essential difference between yoga breathing technique(which doesn't help you to achieve your spiritual goal), and Wim Hof's breathing technique, which makes you feel like passing the realm of everything? As a 40-year yoga practitioner, you have to know the answer. Or,you've been practicing yoga in the wrong way. Or,with wrong motive.

I've tried literally everything you can think of to deal with C-PTSD Flashbacks. I just had a really severe one beginning to take shape about 30 minutes ago. I tried the Wim Hoff breathing technique properly for the first time in my life after coming across him. During the first round, I thought it wasn't going to help. At the end of the first round, I realized it had eased my symptoms by half, after the second round my symptoms were gone for about 10 minutes ENTIRELY. Now I feel my physiology slowly returning to the frozen locked up hyperactive state that it's existed within for a decade, but this is the first thing that has actually profoundly affected my physiology in such a short time and it shows me that the more I practice this, the more my physiology will ditch its old ways and become rewired. Amazing stuff.

Soon after I did another 30 breaths then got stuck into push ups after exhaling. Yesterday I struggled through 13 pushups while breathing! Today I made it to 25 no air in my lungs! I'm very very impressed with this method. Thank you Wim and Lewis, Thankyou kindly!

The perfect teacher and it is amazing to see his love and patience in his teaching. It is originally from YOGA, very similiar to kundalini pranayama (breathing) exercises. I have seen many people from India teach the same including 'Art of Living', SSY, Isha Foundation etc... but Wim teachs this perfectly. I used to do this 41 times one round and total four rounds in Mornings and evenings. In the mornings after doing it we would go to the temple pond and go below water’s surface 21 times but the water temperatue was between 10 and 15 degrees and I have never had chance to experience extreme cold weather as I did this in south part of India. Thanks Wim for sharing this breathing exercises to the whole world. You have been an inspiration for me to start doing this all over again after 30 years.

I've done this for over a year now. i had a stressful couple of months last year and ceased to continue. by this point I was taking its effects for granted for which they are long lasting. i noticed I had become anxious not because of the stress, but becauee I suffered acute anxiety before I started following this guy, and practicing the breathing and meditation. It not only destroyed my anxiety, but put me in a mindset where I had literally forgotten that I had suffered it before, almost as I were a different person, to which returned momentarily when I stopped practicing this. This technique works in a way no medication has ever done, for me. Really have to take heed however, of Wim's advice RE, 'tapping into the body'. Sensations you feel are a bit like a bridge into the ability to manipulate the endocrine system, but you have to follow the feelings and think along these lines in order to get what I've found to be the most positive results.

Welcome mortals. I'm assigned by Divine Gains Department (DGD) to inform you about progress made by user called "Gianinni Mendiola". Unfortunatelly, during one of his countles breathing sessions he Ascended to Higher Power Levels and is unable to communicate with lesser beings anymore. Do not be offended mortals, It's not an insult, you just would not even comphrehend Those Gains, unless you Ascend to similiar level level too. Do not be afraid and grind everyday, maggots! You can always reach DGD by excercise to second puke or stabbing your balls. Good Luck!

Lewis & Wim - LOVE this! Really enjoyed the full interview this past week too! Your podcast is one of the few I've listened to the past couple years, and obviously it's one of my favorites! Thanks for the work you're doing and how you're making the world a better place! I've owned an awesome fitness business in Atlanta, GA for almost 7 years - Higher Purpose Fitness - and would be thrilled to be a guest on your show to share the incredible things I've learned the past 31 years - how I turned unbelievable pain and hardship into a MASSIVE blessing by equipping and inspiring those around me to be FULLY who they were designed to be! And for fun real quick: My 3 Truths 1. Question WHY You Believe What You Believe About Everything - Find YOUR Truth. 2. Follow Your Peace & Smile Often. 3. Practice Gratitude Moment By Moment. My Definition Of Greatness: Using the way you've been uniquely Wired & Gifted to make the lives of those around you much, much better. Have an amazing Sunday afternoon, Lewis! :-)

When he says "deeply/fully in", he means "inhale as much as you can", right?! When he says "letting go", does he mean just release what comes out 'naturally' or actively exhale until you empty your lungs completely??

this immediately took me to a new level of spiritual practice. ive been a practicer of breathwork for nearly two years and this is like a psychic catapult. two cycles and I am quite able to do what wim hof promises- - "to go deeper into the body". this is what I've been looking for. no doubt with further practice I can do what the yogis have described-- being able to alter directly the physiology, even see and describe the physical structures-- so can you. really amazing stuff. looking forward to pushing myself into cold immersion... doesnt seem like it would be too difficult. this technique allows me to cultivate the 'vibrations' he speaks of literally like waves of electricity through my cells-- similar to those of sleep paralysis or those felt right before an OBE... and id reckon that's even more effective than thermal energy for staving off perception/reaction to cold. it's all intuition. if you've made it this far, i can tell you from experience that youre seeking knowledge incredibly worthwhile. control your body to control your mind to control your spirit to control your reality.

Exactly! I have been seeing that my ego isn't in the forefront of my character. I feel way more clear way better and way more focused, but it's a meditative state. The yogis won't tell you nor the guru's cause they would be out of business and westerners are their biggest clients, they go to great lengths to travel across the globe to learn nothing but crap because no guru can teach you about you.

“In the Bhagavad Gita they say, "The mind under control is your best friend, the mind wandering about is your worst enemy." Make it your best friend, to the point where you can rely on it. Your mind makes you strong from within. It is your wise companion. The sacrifices you make will be rewarded. Life doesn't change, but your perception does. It's all about what you focus on. Withdraw from the world's influence and no longer be controlled by your emotions. If you can grab the wheel of your mind, you can steer the direction of where your life will go.” ― Wim Hof

Woah! Your video popped up in my feed, so I clicked it....and followed along. Never having performed this breathing technique...other than breath awareness in my yoga and meditation practice...I was excited to try the Wim Hof method. The first stage I felt my body tingling, fingers and arms...then experienced a lightheadedness. I hung in there with you Brother. Then on the final stage everything went white... a bright white light came into my vision, but my eyes were closed. There was incredible peace and stillness in that space. And it stayed there. It was absolutely beautiful. I had full trust in the both of you and believed I would be okay. Plus I was fully open to the experience and positive effects it would have. Thank you both very much for sharing this 😁💪🙏🏼. This will become a regular practice that I will add to the “finish cold” showers I’ve been taking for the past year. Sophia. I remember we used to do this as kids. We would breath and breath then hold our breath, then on the last breath we would stooped down and blow on our thumbs instead of holding our breath. Bro now that’s something, sometimes we would pass out. Also we would sit that person down on a chair and place a palm (hand) above the head chakra, then only two of us could lift that person by just placing our index finger under both armpits and lifting them off the chair very easily. They were as light as a feather. As kids we never understood what we were doing, this was before Xbox and PlayStation lol.

I am glad you put the man on you U-tube pod. I had an almost amazing experience. I had been driving for 10 hours and when I got back I fell into deep sleep listening to Wills Voice (sorry I didn't remember hearing yours), as I slept with the ear piece in my ear, I felt myself melting into his voice and then I thought I felt my back being stroked, when I tried to be conscious I saw myself stroking his back like mothers do to their children.. It was a symbiotic experience, and wow such healing -when woke up I as ready to go again. I re cap when hesitated the state of live the protection of each other and I think this is what has been lost. Until' the "equality of all sex types" men used to hold the door open for women, it was a symbolic gesture of men's pubic show of their masculinity in an act of protectiveness. Yes I think he is right somehow that deep connectiveness is seamless and is lost by the growing lessening of boundariesexploitations

As for the cold showers they have been part of my routine for some time, water now is getting very cold - the tips of your breast hurt way after you leave the shower. I did the breath the first time at night, and I did not sleep at all, so I will keep do it mornings only! Great vid, thanks for sharing!

These are my results: 1st Trial: 1m 20s (heart, upper chest, neck and head felt clogged/stressed when practicing breathing) 2nd Trial: 2m 20s (heart slightly more opened, rest same when practicing breathing) 3rd trial: 3m 3s (heart opened, abdomen opened, upper chest still tension) 4th Trial: 4m 4s (all open except upper part of head, still some tension up there) 5th trial: 4m 6s (same) this was great. I also felt more relaxed and "happy" inside at the end of each trial. Thanks

Incredible! Our bodies are so amazing, even more so when we are willing to learn new things. Things are only impossible ... until they aren't.

I did 1 round and was transported outside of me for a split second and then my phone died and I awoke with such a good feeling! This is amazing and will do this from now on!

I remember going to see my friends baba (Guru) and he showed me a little breathing exercise to help me relax, through breathing he managed to completely lower his pulse to 1 beat per 7 seconds 😬 dropped his core temperature down to freezing then hot within a few seconds. There’s some incredible humans out there with no exposure that can do some amazing work. Keep up the great work guys awesome stuff.

Absolutely amazing!!! I've been wanting to go to Peru to have an Ahyuasca experience to release DMT and connect with sprit. What he just described releases the DMT naturally without a drug!! OMG! I'm so blessed and happy to have been lead to this video! 😄😄😄 The potentials of this is unlimited!

It would be ingesting DMT from a secondary source usually a leaf, so not naturally produced - if you want natural production a dark room retreat would be ideal, natural production will start with sensory deprivation around 4/5 day mark.

What I love about this vid, is the reminder to those that already practice this, that we should keep those breaths slow....Ive found that when Im rushing the process in the morning i can speed things up a little...thanks Lewis - a wonderful vid and reminder.
