One of the main issues wasn't addressed in the video actually. The widespread success of Chinese phone brands depend on adds in os and data laundering. This helps them sell the product at a much lower price than the competition thus reach most households which are middle-class in terms of income.

But the most advanced enterprises that are legal , in all industries, and helping build the country in every sector are also from Chinese who have chosen to become Filipinos, instead of moving their money out... they are in fact on the net inviting more investors , market spenders, tech introducers into the Phil, and work hardest to help the country. They are also the biggest donors to charity, education, infrastrukcture, and training up the people. The biggest investments in the most fundamental enabler industries, unlike western investments which are mostly in consumer industries that send out their dividends. Foreign competition and FDI will be beneficial to any nation as long as they foreigners play by the rules, and get punished if they do not (like India is doing with Chinese tech firms). I remember when in the early 90s many Mexican auto parts makers feared NAFTA (now TMEC) due to their perceived inability to compete with US and Canadian firms.
